Work Text:
“Papa, Papa!” His son hits his knees running, almost causing him to fall before he steadies himself with one hand against the wall.
“It’s good to see you too, Misha. I missed you today.” He said as he pulls his son up onto his hip once he’s sure he’s steady. Such greetings aren’t uncommon for him, lately. Little spots of joy that he and his dragon appreciate, deeply.
Instead of asking how much- his usual response- Misha sticks a finger in his mouth and regards him solemnly.
“Mama got herself stuff in the Chrissy lights tryin’a take them down even though I TOLD HER you wanted us to wait for you to come home.” Misha says around the appendage.
Ah.
No wonder Furina had begun blocking their bond about a half hour ago.

Neuvillette raises both brows as he sees not only his mate, but all three of her Salon Solitaire tangled up in more lights than he’d thought they’d put up.
“Do I even want to know how this happened?” He asked, causing Furina to twitch sharply from where she was trying to make her way free. Pity Neuvillette had a toddler on his hip. If they had been alone, her positioning would have been… well, a lot more fun.
Mmm. The life of a parent.
Neuvillette wouldn’t give it up for anything, but there were times where it was inconvenient.
For her own part, Furina didn’t seem like she realized the potential her position had from the way she was glaring. “No. You do not want to know. Just get us out of here. For some reason, I haven’t been able to dismiss Mademoiselle Crabaletta or the others since we got tangled up like this.” She finished with a sigh.
Now that he was there and already seeing her like this, she was letting a little bit of her frustration and embarrassment leak through their bond.
Neuvillette smiled at the way it went blush bright and pleased when he leaned down and kissed the tip of her adorable nose, sending comfort and his besotted adoration rushing through the bond as he leaned down to gently begin working his mate and her summons free.
