Human emergencies

Summary:

Mostly everyone with a uterus has a period, and it sucks. We all know this. However, what if you had four mutant turtle friends who have never even heard of a period before? That would definitely be a lot to explain. Luckily you have your best friend, who is just as awkward as you, to help!

Notes:

My oc, Mars, is transmasc for context in case anyone gets confused.

Chapter 1: Mother nature has come once again

Chapter Text

Ah, yes. Saturday. The day you finally get to rest after a long and stressful week, or not. It all depends, really. Some people spend the day resting. Some people spend the day catching up on work. Some people spend the day dreading the next. You can do anything! However, for most people with a uterus, you might not get that choice.

Mars woke up at around 11:30 am, feeling like a bag of shit. He didn’t think much of it, mainly because he wasn’t fully awake yet, but also because that was how he usually felt when he woke up. Some scrolling and breakfast should fix him right up! If only he could get out of this damn comfortable bed-

“Mars, get up! I made breakfast!” Mikey shouted from the kitchen, his voice as loud and energetic as ever.

Mars groaned, wondering how Mikey could be so loud so early in the morning, even though it was almost noon. With a lot of effort, he got up from his comfortable bed and stretched, then grabbed his phone and left the room. He noticed that his stomach was hurting, and he had a headache, but didn’t think much of that either. He was probably just hungry.

Once Mars got to the kitchen, he saw Raph and Mikey there. Both of them were sitting at the table, talking and eating. Donnie was in his lab and Leo was at the skate rink trying, and failing, to do tricks on his skateboard, so it was just them two. When Raph and Mikey saw Mars, they stopped talking and smiled at him.

“Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to wake up.” Raph teased, meaning no harm by it.

“Hey bro! I made breakfast. Want some?” Mikey asked, his usual bright smile on his face.

“Sure, I am pretty hungry.” Mars chuckled, sounding tired since he still wasn’t fully awake yet.

Mikey happily nodded and went to go get him a plate as Mars sat down at the table next to Raph. Mars’ stomach pain had somehow gotten worse, but again, he thought nothing of it.

“So, how’d you sleep little bro?” Raph asked, his big brother instincts kicking in. It’s important to check up on your little brothers, after all.

“I slept well. I fell asleep early last night, surprisingly.” Mars replied, yawning and rubbing his eye.

“That’s good. I’m glad you’re getting more sleep.” Raph gently ruffled Mars’ already messy hair. Mikey then came back and handed Mars his plate.

Everything was good. Everything was fine. The three of them talked and laughed as Mars ate. However, that damn stomach pain never went away. In fact, it only seemed to get worse. It was getting very hard to ignore. Somehow, Raph managed to notice this. Big brother instincts come in handy.

“Hey, Mars. Are you okay?” Raph asked, sounding concerned. Mikey paused and looked between Mars and Raph, wondering why he would ask that.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Why?” Mars responded, raising an eyebrow. Could Raph tell he was in pain or something?

“You sure? You keep shifting and your face keeps scrunching up as if you're in pain, or something.” Wow, Raph really pays attention to detail.

“Yeah, I’m sure. Don’t worry about it.” Mars knew Raph would panic if he mentioned his stomach ache, so he hid it. It would probably go away soon anyway.

Raph was still suspicious, but nodded and changed the topic. Mikey was also getting suspicious, but did the same.

Phew, dodged a bullet there.

After he ate, Mars went to the bathroom. He took care of his normal human business as he scrolled on his phone. He was about to grab some toilet paper when he noticed a spot in his underwear.

A blood spot.

“Oh shit.”
