I just came to pay a speeding ticket man…

Summary:

Jake lockley gets a speeding ticket.
Evidently going to a police station as a wanted criminal is not a good idea. Not that he even knew he was a wanted criminal.

Or

Moon knight system meets the avengers and misunderstandings ensue.

Notes:

I do not have DID. I have done some research, but my portrayal may still have some inaccuracies.

Chapter 1: Police station

Chapter Text

Jake Lockley was not a careful driver.
he grew up in Chicago for gods sake. So it really wasn’t a surprise when he was pulled over and given a speeding ticket.

jake had rolled his eyes and signed his name on the officers clip bored to accept the ticket and went on his Mary way. He wasn’t concerned, it wasn’t like they were strapped for cash. Marc still had his mercenary money and Steven kept a steady income with his new job as a tour guide .

(Jake had drawn up a few ,less than true, documents for him, was it illegal? Yes. Was it worth it to see the smile on Stevens face when he received the exception letter? Also yes.)

what was concerning though was the ripped corner of the ticket from when the officer had pulled it from his little ticket book thing. The corner that just so happened to have the website that Jake was meant to go to, to pay the damn ticket.

Jake looked down at the ticket and rolled his eyes, running his finger along the ripped edge. Great, now he would have to go into the station to pay…just another fucking thing that he had to do.

he would have left it to Steven or Marc but Steven got on his case enough about his reckless driving as it is and if he knew about this he would just have more ammunition for his argument.

so he decided not to mention it. They had only just started sharing the time in the body semi-evenly and Jake didn’t want Marc to think he couldn’t be trusted and get all cagey again like he was when he first found out about Jake.

so, the next morning Jake got dressed, and headed to the police station.

When he walked up to the counter there was a gruff man sitting there, he had a thick neck beard and he didn’t bother to look up from his computer as he addressed Jake.

“how can I help you?” He said with an uninterested drawl. Reaching into an open chip packet and putting some in his mouth, crunching annoyingly.

“need to pay a ticket.” Jake replied, matching the man’s tone and checking his nails for any dried blood left over from his moon knight business yesterday. (Wouldn’t really be a good look in a police station would it?)

the man looked up briefly and then handed Jake some paper work.

”fill these out and….”

Jake looked up at the man trailed off, staring at Jake with an odd look on his face. He then pulled the paper work back towards him and held up a hand in motion for Jake to wait.

Jake raised an eyebrow and waited for the officer to return his paperwork so that he could get this done with.

the officer typed something up in his computer and then looked from the screen to Jake and Then back again.

“you…your Marc Spector…correct?” He said with a suspicious tone of voice.

jake went ridged. That wasn’t the name he gave the officer who gave him the ticked…why did they have that name on file?

”answer me son.” The man said sternly, standing up.

jake tilted his head, considering the man. He could take him. But he was in a police station filled with officers.

Jake sighed “uh yeah…I uh…changed my name a few years ago…is there a problem with my paper work or something?”

the police officer walked around the bench abruptly and pushed Jake into the counter, pinning him down and grabbing his hands to cuff him.

“w-what the hell?! Qué estás haciendo?!” Jake struggled against the officers hold, pulling his head up sharply and hitting him in the face with a loud crunch.

the officer yelled out in pain and two more tan towards them, holding Jake down. Jake felt a pounding in his head harsh and demanding, and then he was being pulled away from the body.
