Aki’s hands continued in their steady march across his wingspan, but Angel felt as if he’d been frozen in place. Why ask, if his hair wasn’t dirty? He wanted to turn and search Aki’s face for the answer, but he just couldn’t bring himself to move. Aki’s hands on his feathers suddenly felt too close, too intimate, too gentle.
