Work Text:
Sarah Porter would never admit that she was happy for the mistake that lead Holly Snow to her door. It would ruin the almost perfection of their meet-cute. Her daughter had moved in with her ex-husband, she was alone, lonely and slightly sad.
The ringing of the doorbell had disturbed her almost nap on the sofa, her eyes widening a little at the woman on the other side. Holly Snow, the day they met, was all curls, smiles and skin-tight black velvet minidress.
“Don’t be shy Sweetness…”
Holly’s voice even now is enough to make her shudder but she had not expected to feel such a pull even as Holly drew her into a kiss. It had taken a while for the kiss to break, longer still for Sarah to clarify she hadn’t booked the woman’s services.
What followed was a long conversation followed by Holly’s eyes closing at the tirade on the other end of the phone, the man promising to make her pay. That had pushed Sarah to snatch the phone from Holly, making it clear she had heard the man’s words and warning him off, threatening to find him should any woman show up dead before hanging the phone up.
“He’s a fool.”
Three sharp, angry words and Holly’s lips are pressed to hers again, stifling her rage and drawing her to pull Holly closer, letting herself finally want whatever came next. Now, with Holly curled in her arms, happily at rest, she knows she made the right choice.
