Summary
No one ever spoke of what happens after. After the battles are all over and the tired soldiers return home, wide-eyed and jumping at odd sounds. They don't speak of the graves. The endless rows of turned earth or the small stones that are the only reminders of those never recovered. A place for mothers to weep and friends to question why. No one speaks of the all consuming grief. Waking up each morning knowing that things are not quite the same and never will be again.
Two young adults with very different backgrounds are both learning to navigate in a world torn by the fourth war. How does someone move forward when everything they know is fundamentally different.
