Xiao takes cautious steps, paying no mind when the next step he takes makes an audible squelch, stepping onto something wet and gooey. Instincts sharp as his spear, he is quick to swing his weapon to what seems an inching tendril, barely visible within the shadows. He misses merely an inch, but he does not let it distract him from the next tendril that touches his boot.
