   Summary

Ionakana is a beggar, often having to steal for food. After being arrested and whipped for a crime he didn't commit, he's recommended for the Choosing, an event in which Potential Dragon Riders are sought out. It's something that can change his life forever, but the question remains, will the people accept someone who carries a secret like his in such a prominent position?
