Summary
Alvaerelle had work to do. Many pressing matters, such as the intruder in her skull or the omnipresent threat of the Absolute were at the forefront of her mind. Rest, it seemed, was determined to elude her as she shook herself awake night after night, mind whirring with the responsibility laid at her feet. So why, she asked herself, were so many of her thoughts consumed by her companions? She had lived a cloistered life before her abduction to the nautiloid ship and now, finding herself living in such close quarters with others, she was driving herself to distraction.
