Bad Boyfriend

Summary:

They thought they had left, maybe one can never truly stop an addiction.

Notes:

(Overall, not as bad as Nicotine but there are minor things to be warned about)

(My friend requested I make them more to Nicotine but it was a one shot so I pleased them by making a sequel. You're welcome. And no, I will not be making more of this, it ends here. I ended it nicely there is nothing one could possibly need another part for. Thank you and enjoy the story.)

Work Text:

"Where have you been?"

Shit. They've been caught.

~

It was only to be one night. Who knew one night would have turned into six years.

The fucks.

The excuses.

The cancelled plans.

And the lies.

Oh the lies.

~

"When will you be home, lovely?"

"Around midnight. My coworkers want to take me on a man's night to watch Japan beat Argentina."

Lies. The horny man in front of him proved it.

"Alright. See you in the morning, Tetsu."

Beeping signals the call is over.

"Alright. You heard me before midnight."

"Alright, Tetsu~"

~

Oh how they were so done with the lies.

There was no game. And he knew that he knew.

~

"Where do these bruises keep coming from?"

Rough fingers run across the bruises on his chest. Black hair styled the way it was in highschool was so much prettier than the parted hair he had on court.

Arms around a waist just slightly smaller than his own.

"My teammates are very rough. They like to elbow me in the chest when they tell me to shrink an inch or two."

A short chuckle fills the air.

~

They weren't bruises.

They both knew that.

~

"The fuck, Tetsurou? If you go with him, your punishment may leave him asking questions you can't answer~."

Calendar marked with a 2 week vacation for Paris fashion week. One for the runway and one for dates.

No one but he lurks in the house. He is alone.

"I can't just not. I want to support him. And he's my boyfriend. Hopefully my husband sometime when Japan legalizes gay marriage. I mean, if the homophobic U.S. can do it, so can Japan-"

"Awww. But Tetsu, do you truly love him if you're still seeing me? Would he really want to marry the slut that's been cheating on him for six years?"

Silence.

"Now you won't go or you will receive punishment that won't go unnoticed leaving you with questions you can't provide responses to. You'll have to tell him the truth."

"Alright."

~

It hurt when they spoke truths they weren't ready to come to terms with.

To look at their loved ones knowing they were still chained to those awful demons of lust.

~

"Oh kei~ Coming alre- ahhh~! Yes. More."

Their bodies warm. His ass, tight. The one underneath him be not his black hair lover.

No. Not his black haired lover with a soul as pure and awkward as the autumn wind blowing.

Indeed this man had brown hair with a twisted and bitter soul of the black licorice no one likes. The licorice oy insane people ate.

Guess that meant he was insane. He kept coming back for it. That toxic behavior.

Bodies pressed against each other. Lips joining together in a kiss of passion, lust, and poison.

Meanwhile, in another room a phone rings. Lit with the face of another who stands concerned.

~

They weren't the only ones getting tired of the lies.

Their lovers were catching on and they were fed up with it. They weren't fools. And they wouldn't be played as ones just because they scored lower academically.

~

Pissed and ashamed. The moods that are shifting in the room's air.

The pissed didn't know why the ashamed stood the way he did. But the ashamed knew very well why the pissed was the way he was. And he knew that he had every right to be.

"I thought you said you wouldn't stoop to his level. Yet here you are. Stooping to his level with him. What the hell?!"

The other doesn't speak. He has not the ability nor the words to do so.

"How long have you been hooking up with him?"

It is minutes of silence that feel like years before he can say it. The shameful number.

"Six years."

~

Unfortunately for the other, his lover was not as reasonable.

~

"Take your shit and get out."

"Tobs-"

"Not only are you blind but you're deaf too? Out!"

The professional athlete was mad. A state the blonde had only ever seen in their teenage years when they were nothing but enemies to one another.

When he learned his tolerance for people that did him wrong was slim.

"Can I know why?"

He knew why. But he must act as if he didn't in hopes he could save his healthy relationship. The relationship he loved.

But to be honest. He didn't know which he loved. The feeling of being loved. Or the feeling of being used.

"You should know why. I found out from fucking Atsumu that you've been sleeping with Suna for six fucking years! He'd been under the assumption we were in an open relationship and I just found out today! Get your shit and leave. You can reside with your toxic boyfriend you love so much."

Clearly everything that had fallen into place fell out. One piece was bad and the puzzle broke. There was no fixing something so complex.

So he did as told.

~

Neither's relationship was the way it was and they fully deserved it.

Kicked out and taken in. Both lacked where the other got lucky.

One with a decent relationship with the homewrecker while the other on better terms with the betrayed.

~

With living together, what had started as just sexual harassment had turned violent and deceitful.

It went from a toxic relationship with warm sex caused by fights that turned only one on to a toxic relationship where he was given no space. He was touched whether he wanted to be or not. Had he not act like a house maid as soon as he return home from work he was either burned, nearly suffocated, or fucked so much so he barely had time to breathe.

And all of these, his toxic lover would claim, would happen less if he wasn't so god damn stubborn. If he just did as told and not fought back. If he just stood by and took it like a grown man.

But not once did he ever ask that of the side chicks he brought in the house. Not one.

"Who's that darling?"

Couch.

Waiting for a text that can give him a reason to get out of here.

Coffee in hand. He doesn't care if it's 11 in the evening.

"That's my servant."

Looks tossed toward him.

Smug looks.

He does not look back.

"If I'm your servant, where the fuck is my payment?"

No words, just hot coffee pourn on his hands.

~

What started an addiction turned to the lasting effects of nicotine. The chains of what had been done suffocating them.

~

"Oh look at the mess you got yourself into Kei. He doesn't even want to see you. Seems you royally screwed up the king of the court."

"That name doesn't apply to him anymore."

"Sure sure. But you still screwed up his trust. What was it that broke it first? His junior high team? Or his grandfather when he died after promising he'd be around forever."

Why did he confide in this fox? He had too much personal info on the dark haired man all because of him. He gave him a noose he never should have had.

"Smile and say cheese."

Fingers put up the corners of his mouth, forcing a smile. Phone in front of them. The camera revealing the other was smiling what was obvious to him to be fake but to anyone else was real.

1… 2… 3… Kiss and flash.

~

They truly did make contracts with the demons of the world. What was wrong with them?

In truth they didn't know. Their friends called them masochistic. And maybe they were but surely they weren't the only ones to blame. No.

It was their sickening voices of benzene.

They were dead in their arms. Their souls so sick of the poison it couldn't bear to leave their bodies to a better place just to be dragged back by the sweet scent.

But maybe, just maybe, for the split second that their poisonous tongue was concentrated on another, they could escape.

~

Moans echo through the halls. Loud enough that he shouldn't hear him on the phone. He will never know till it is too late.

His phone rings waiting for an answer from the otherside. 3 numbers lit up in their trademark order. Then it comes.

His savior.

"This is 911. How can I help you?"

"I'd like to report the crime of domestic violence, physical and sexual."

"Alright, I presume the abuser is not currently in the house?"

"No, he's in bed with another at the moment so they can't hear me."

"Understood. What is your location, sir?"

"133 in Junko just off of Shoita street."

"I'm sending a small squad there now. Expect help in the next 10 minutes. Would you like to stay on the line?"

"No. Thank you."

"Of course."

Beeping signaled the end of the call. He was going to be free. Likely going to court to prove the crimes but he'll be free. He has the burn scars to prove it.

The words that urged him to do this.

'We can start again as long as you promise to cut him off, permanently.'

"I promise."

~

His friend looked at him. Mad at his stupidity.

"You do know what the best case scenario would have been, right?"

He nodded. He couldn't speak.

"Good. So you know where you went wrong."

Of course he did. It had already been a month since he was kicked out so harshly and he missed the man.

He wta he'd all his games, eyes only on him. It bugged Suna, but he didn't care.

His own playing has been affected by this. For instance, he was sore more often and his team noticed this. He was more moody when bringing up the rising star of a setter.

It didn't help that just last week he watched Suna ruin a relationship in perfect shape. Not just any. He ruined his best friend's brother's relationship after getting him black out drunk and getting caught fucking him by both himself and Atsumu's partner, Sakusa.

Unluckily for Atsumu, Suna was incredibly persuasive and made Sakusa believe it was him who seduced Suna into having sex.

Why he didn't defend Atsumu knowing what truly happened, he did not know.

But he deeply regretted it.

Finally able to find words it became increasingly obvious.

"As much as part of me doesn't want to, I need to get rid of him."

His best friend agreed.

"We can sign you up for therapy to help with that."

~

Unfortunately. Not all stories get a happy ending.

Not all stories end with the protagonist getting what they want. Or need.

~

The look on his face when the tables were turned was the same on his face when cops took him in.

It was no longer a snake in cuffs, no, he had been too slippery. A cat was in chains.

"I swear I know multiple people who can confirm what I say to be true Lev Haiba and a girl by the name of Chiyo! They can confirm these aren't birthmarks! Ask a doctor! These are scars!"

He couldn't believe it. He was being framed as the criminal.

Somehow, in some way, Suguru Daishou managed to convince the court that he, the one at fault, was innocent, and it was the Indonesian man that had been the one to blame.

That he was lying.

That he was the one that traumatized the other.

He should be sent to jail for not only domestic violence, but lying to cops and the court.

How had it happen? He still couldn't wrap his head around it. Why must it be he who'll get fired. Who'll have his whole reputation and career destroyed.

They weren't going to try to call any of the people he knew could back him up.

"Please! I can get you people who know for a fact that I'm not the one at fault!"

He was trying all he could to stay in the courtroom despite the authorities trying to take him away.

"Were any of them present to witness?"

"One. The girl, Chiyo Hajime. She saw him pour the boiling water that formed the scar on my face. And a volleyball player by the name of Kei Tsukishima also knows about what he's done. He's also in a similar situation with a lover that has posted lewd pictures of him without his knowledge or permission and occasionally sexually harasses him. They're a year apart so they were in that relationship even when his lover counted as an adult and he was still a minor."

If he couldn't save himself, surely he could save Tsukishima. Even with only a year difference, even if he consented to it, it still counted to sex crimes.

When he brought up the girl, the look of victory the other bore faltered. He had never realized that she had witnessed that all those years ago. Nor had Kuroo known her name.

"Please. Contact one, if not both. Or the other man I told you about before. They can all confirm what I say is true. I am not the guilty party."

After a long pause the judge's decision was announced.

"Take him away. And someone call the girl. Then Tsukishima. I want them in this courtroom to find the guilty party there."

~

There was no guilty party to find. It should have been obvious.

~

"I hear by declare Rintarou Suna to be guilty of all alleged crimes!"

He didn't know how it happened. It was all thanks to Kuroo. Had he not told the court about his situation while trying to get out of his own, he would never be free of Suna.

He'd be his little puppet forever.

All he had to do was repay the debt. Since Kuroo was still in a tough predicament.

~

They still lost.

Even with Tsukishima to back him up, Daishou was still victorious.

How?

It didn't make sense. How could the judge still claim him guilty?

Turned out Chiyo had died in a car crash two years prior and Lev's phone was unreachable since he was out on a modeling tour with his sister. Even Kenma was unreachable for reasons he couldn't figure.

They wouldn't bring in doctors to confirm that his scars were what he claimed.

Why?

Why?!

WHY?!

Why?

~

He lost everything and nothing at all.

He lost his job.

His respect among those who knew nothing of what happened.

His reputation.

He lost all that but those who knew stayed loyal.

They tried so hard to get another trial for him to prove he wasn't guilty. But they never let it be.

Kenma suspected bribery but they had no proof.

Lev stayed true to their promise. Even though Tetsurou was in jail, they were gonna start over as soon as his sentence was over.

Unfortunately for them, that was a 20 year sentence.

240 months.

7,304 days.

10,517,760 minutes.

They wouldn't reunite till Kuroo was 48 unless he was proven innocent before that.

~

Unknowingly to them, they wouldn't have to wait that long.

While checking past security camera recordings a security guard discovered what Kenma believed was right.

Daishou had bribed the judge double the amount of his paycheck to play Kuroo as the guilty one.

As a result, the judge lost his job and Kuroo and Daishou switched spots.

The true criminal behind bars and the innocent set free. There was a god.

And thankfully he did something to please that god.

From there, Tsukishima and Kuroo broke the chains they were held back by. They got therapy.

Tsukishima was put to shame by his team when they found he had cheated on his partners, but it wasn't a crime, so he wouldn't lose his job.

Even proven innocent, Kuroo didn't get his job back. But after taking online college, he got a degree in medicine and became a nurse and on his days off he coaches a kids volleyball team.

Over the years, gay marriage finally got legalized when Lev had just turned 30 and the two got married and lived a pleasant life together.

Tsukishima and Kageyama never made ends romantically but they became close friends. Kageyama started dating Oikawa when he returned from playing for Argentina and Tsukishima stuck with a peaceful single life and adopted a child.

It was a great ending for all involved.

Well, all but Daishou and Suna whose lives were permanently ruined.

But they deserved it and no one could object as there was nothing to prove them right.
