Rocket had been missing his boyfriend Sword lately.
In all honesty, Rocket never understood why Sword spent so much time practicing with his 'Master' on the heights. Not only were there better places to fight, but Rocket didn't even know who Swords Master even was!! Sword completely refused to tell him and even changed the subject multiple times whenever Rocket brought it up.
Rocket huffed, he just wanted to feel the sweet embrace of his boyfriend again.
That's when Rocket heard a tune being knocked on his bedroom door. Judging by the fact that it was knocked to a song, it was probably Zuka, his father. Rocket sighed and got up from his bed, not like he was doing anything anyways. Zuka would probably just give him a bajillion errands to run, which Rocket did not fancy whatsoever. Though, the errands would possibly take his mind off Sword for a second.
Rocket walked over to the door, twisting the knob and standing out of the way to swing it open. In front of the door stood a seemingly annoyed Zuka, who was holding a backpack with him.
"Hey kiddo, I gotta head out for a bit, important meeting blah blah." Zuka said, flailing his hand around flamboyantly, sighing straight after. "I'll be back by midnight, no guests over or else you're grounded." He stated firmly, clearly meaning what he said. Rocket wasn't shocked, Zuka pulled shit like this all the time, coming home late from mysterious meetings he never told Rocket about.
Rocket huffed. "Okay dad, I'll see you then. And I promise I won't have guests over," that was a lie. He was totally going to invite Sword over, finally be able to spend some quality time with him.
"Good, I'll see you then, love you." Zuka said with a small smile. It was true, Zuka loved Rocket like a son, even if he was adopted.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Rocket said snarkily while rolling his eyes. He shut the door in front of his father's face, not out of spite but just because of some events that have happened recently. Zuka had been yelling at Rocket a lot recently, for seemingly no reason. It was hard going through that without someone as rocket had always been sensitive to yelling. Though, he quickly shook away the thoughts as his lips curled upwards. Rocket smiled playfully and grabbed his phone, going straight to Swords contact. Rocket sent Sword a quick text, just asking him to come over.
ROCKET
hey sword! zukes isnt home 2nite, wanna come over?
And now, he waits.
Sword always took ridiculous times to respond for some reason, like what the heck man. It doesn't take 10 Millenia to respond to one text. Sometimes Sword would just leave Rocket on read too. Guess his techniques aren't the only things that are old about him. It's like trying to teach your grandma how to use the phone, absolutely insane. Yet, today was different. It seemed today was going in his favour as Sword replied quickly.
SWORD
Yeah ofc! I'll be there in like 5
See you there Honey <3
(Today, 5:54pm)
Rocket giggled at the fact that sword called him "honey". Rocket absolutely loves the nicknames Sword calls him. It makes him feel loved in a way nothing else can compete with.
The best part about this text was that Sword was going to arrive in 5 minutes, now all Rocket had to do was wait. This felt like the hardest wait of his lifetime. He felt like the seconds were minutes and the minutes were hours as he stared at his clock, awaiting his boyfriend.
Rocket felt like he was lucky when it came to Sword. How could he get so lucky to have a beautiful boyfriend that's always there for him and can constantly have time to spend with him? All rocket could wish for is that Sword felt the same way. He tried so hard for so long to be perfect for sword, he just hoped that it worked.
Rocket stares into space while he thinks about his boyfriend. Heck, he wasn't even here and Rocket felt as if he was on cloud 9 already. He had a warm feeling in his core just imagining Sword here, it made him blush intensely. He latched onto a nearby plushie he had and squeezed it, kicking his feet on the bed slightly whilst closing his eyes. How could he be so deep in love with one man?!
Rocket was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door to his shared apartment ring. He giddily jumped up, hoping with all his heart it was sword there. Rocket opened his room door and soon reached the front door, swinging it open with excitement.
Just outside the door was a smiling Sword, who dropped his bag and extended his arms for Rocket to fall into. Rockets eyes basically lit up as he jumped into swords hug, finding it hard to contain his happiness. He giggled quietly yet loudly as he cuddled into Sword, almost rubbing up against his neck like a cat. Being so caught up in this hug, he completely forgot the fact that they were in a very open hallway.
Sword chuckled and pulled away from the hug. "Why don't we go inside, hm?" Said sword, remaining eye contact with Rocket. Illumina, Rockets heart just melted at swords voice. Oh how he missed his boyfriend dearly.
Rocket nodded quickly and led Sword inside his apartment. Sword picked up his bag and walked in, thanking Rocket for holding the door for him. Rocket closed and locked the door once the two were in, a smirk plastered on his face while he was locking up.
Sword took a seat on the couch, placing his bag down on the floor beside him. Rocket was excited to say the least, he could finally fulfill his deepest wants and needs. Rocket slowly walked over to the couch and sat down next to Sword. He then proceeded to basically jump onto Sword. He pushed him down onto the armrest on the side, giggling a little bit. Sword didn't find this funny, but laughed it off anyway.
"Hah- Rocket what are you doing?" Sword asks, confused. Rocket didn't answer and just looked in Swords eyes, playfully putting his arms on the sides of his boyfriends head. Though, rocket soon was more pensive. The truth is he just really missed Sword, heck, he missed him so much.
"Its been so long, darling. I just miss you, a lot." Rocket confessed, his smile slowly fading away in the last sentence. "You've been training just all the time and I feel like you aren't spending enough time with me. Which is okay, I guess." He bit his lip, suddenly feeling a massive mood swing of sadness for some reason.
Swords face contorted into a look of concern. "I'm sorry you feel that way, Rocket. It's been... busy... lately. You know how it is," he tried to get rocket to sympathize with his situation. Rocket just looked to the side and got off Sword. He sat on the other side of the couch.
Rocket doesn't know why he felt so sad all of a sudden but he just did. He missed Sword, even if he was right next to him. Illumina, he just wanted a hug. Yet, he didn't know how without making it aggressive or just weird. Rocket sighed, he didn't know what to do now.
"Rocket," Sword spoke softly, shuffling closer to Rocket. He put his hand on Rockets face, turning his head to face Swords.
"What?" Rocket asked quietly. Sword places his forehead to rockets, still keeping eye contact with his lover. Sword smiled softly, caressing Rockets cheek softly. Rocket on the other hand, was blushing like a madman. His face was as red as a tomato at this point.
"I love you," Sword tenderly confesses. He then closes the remaining gap between the two, kissing Rocket gently on his lips. Rocket shut his eyes and kissed back, placing a hand on Swords leg.
The kiss lasted for what seemed like forever, the two just enjoying each others loving presence. Eventually, the two broke the kiss. They were both smiling plentifully, love in the air and their eyes. Rocket was the first to speak up.
"I'm sorry for saying what i said, darling." Rocket muttered just loud enough for his boyfriend to hear. Sword just smiled,
"Its okay to feel like that honey, I don't blame you for it either." Sword spoke softly, words almost rolling off his tongue in hopes to calm down his lover. He sighed, feeling really guilty for what Rocket might've had to deal with while he wasn't there. "I promise I'll spend more time with you, how does that sound?" Sword smiled.
"I like the sound of that," Rocket mumbled. He smiled softly, looking in Swords eyes. He leaned in gently, his boyfriend doing the same. They connected their lips once more, Rocket wrapping his arms around Swords neck and Sword gently placing his arms on Rockets waist.
Rocket couldn't help but feel some sort of tired, possibly just exhausted by this whole ordeal. Or maybe it was because he'd been sneaking out recently to avoid his dad, doing stupid stuff in this time like just walking to other factions. Unfortunately, rocket didn't know where any of his friends lived. Due to this, he would just stay up all night. He would wander around, blow stuff up, or do things that aren't considered... safe. Rocket pulled away from the kiss to yawn into his elbow, grabbing Swords attention.
"Tired?" Sword chuckled, his lover just looking up at him with an expression that said 'shut up' but then he quietly yawned again. Swords hands traveled from Rockets waist to his back, offering leverage for the tired phighter. "Would you like to go to sleep, love?" Sword whispered close to his lovers ear, which made rocket blush. He nodded and let go of Swords neck, standing up from the couch.
Sword stood up next to Rocket, who was just about to walk away until he felt hands on his torsos side and his knee back. He then got swept up off his feet quickly and let out a surprised yelp.
"SwoRD-" Rockets voice cracked, holding on to his boyfriend for dear life while a fearful expression was plastered on his face. Rocket pressed his body against Swords, hoping an praying to the swords above he wouldn't get dropped. Sword just laughed in response to his boyfriends fear.
"You're fine," Sword chuckled. He then started walking to Rockets room, kicking closed the door once he was inside. He then gently placed Rocket in his bed, smiling contently. Rocket looked up at his boyfriend with a smirk.
"Please never do that again.." Rocket snickered, shaking his head along with his words. Sword just bent down and smirked.
"Don't act like you didn't like it!" Sword smiled smugly, pointing his index finger to Rocket.
"Yeah, hah, sure." Rocket laughed, sprawling his body across the bed in a bodypillow-esque way. In all honesty, he really wanted Sword to sleep with him. Quite a bummer his dad said otherwise. Illumina, Zuka was the definition of a party pooper. Though, Zuka would probably yell at rocket even if he didn't have someone over...
Sword sighed breathily, looking down at Rocket. He then crouched down to Rockets level, which was quite hard due to the fact that Rocket was on the bed. Rocket had some hair in front of his face which sword politely swept away to get a good look of his lovers eyes.
"You know I love you, right Rocket?" Said Sword, glancing in Rockets eyes with sincerity and love. Rocket smiled softly, a light blush dusting his face.
"I love you too, Sword." Rocket spoke softly, leaning in for a final kiss. Sword also leaned in, reciprocating his lovers kiss. Rocket reached his hand down to his boyfriends, and held it tight, not wanting to ever let go. He never wanted it to stop.
But eventually, everything must end. Sword pulled away from the tender kiss, smiling softly.
"Your dad probably doesn't want me here so I better go..." Sword said sadly, he really wanted to spend time that he missed with Rocket.
Rocket knew that Zuka would be mad but its not like he wasn't going to yell at him anyway, thats just how Zuka is after these meetings. Rocket shut his eyes tightly. Fuck it.
Just as Sword was walking out of the door, Rocket called out.
"Wait," He spoke swiftly. Sword turned around, confused. Rocket sighed, "stay..." He asked, not keeping eye contact due to the embarrassment.
"But wont your dad be mad?" Asked Sword, concerned with his boyfriends punishments.
"It doesn't matter, he would be mad at me if I had you over or not." Rocket rolled his eyes. "Just- please. I need you here. Please." Rocket restated. He didn't lie when he said that he needed Sword.
Sword just smiled, "if you say so." Sword said, flipping over the covers and joining Rocket in bed. He wrapped his arms around Rocket, who did the same. They pushed towards eachother lovingly, Rocket resting his head on Swords chest.
Maybe he could finally get some sleep...
