Chapter Text
During this specific Reset, Frisk decided to postpone opening the barrier and fighting Asgore for as long as they could.
Whilst waiting, Sans had decided to do something different this time and check on Papyrus whom had went to train with Undyne an odd 30 minutes ago.
On his way through Waterfall on the path towards Undyne's house, he spotted a monster who looked.. 'familiar', to say the least- The small monster looked like a grayscaled replica of that lizard kid in town.
Sans walked up to the small monster, whom was sitting at the edge of the dock looking down into the water, to see if he was doing okay.
However, as Sans approached and was about to speak, the gray kid spoke up without looking away from the water;
"Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same..." They paused for a moment, looking up and staring off into the distance. Their back still faced towards Sans.
"Except you don't exist?" They glanced behind them, half of his face now visible to Sans. The white abyss made of pure magic in his eyes bored into Sans' own, his eyelight disappearing as the corners of his own permanent smile fell.
"Everything functions perfectly without you...
Ha, ha..." They started to utter out, giving a wavering smile before beginning to tear up.The thought terrifies me." They finished to say, their tears turning into mist once they came into contact with a surface not of their own body, as their figure began fading away into nothingness, out of existance as if they were never there to begin with.
The next thing Sans remembered was his vision fading to black as his stance became unbalanced and he couldn't catch himself as he vaguely felt himself begin to fall, physically, as his consciousness began fading in and out, before disappearing as if the world itself has swallowed him whole.

Undyne and Papyrus had just finshed their last sparring session for the day, if they were on the surface the background scenery would be painted with a yellow and orange sky as the sun began disappearing under the clouds and the city's skyline, however as they were still Underground, they were greeted with a cavern which ceiling was filled with glowing white rocks of various sizes that unironically mimicked the night sky and the non-obvious passage of time.
Undyne was sat down on a nearby bench with a small towel around their neck, chugging down a large, 5 litre bottle of water. Papyrus, on the other hand, has the posture as if he was completely winded due to near Mana depletion, as his back laid upon the front of Undyne's house and his hands on his knees to keep himself up.
Undyne gave a chuckle as she wiped the excess sweat off of her face with her scaley arm, before beginning to walk over to Papyrus.
"Fuhuhu, that was some good effort you put in today, Papyrus! Keep up the good work, alright?" She said, placing her hand firmly on his boney shoulder, patting him before resting her arm to her side once more.
"..However, you'll need ALOT more training if you ever want to defeat me in actual combat." She said with a sharp-toothed grin.
Papyrus removed his back from the wall behind him, before standing up straight with his arms at his hips. "WELL, (𝘏𝘜𝘍𝘍).. WORRY NOT, UNDYNE!! (𝘏𝘜𝘍𝘍) ... I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT.. (𝘏𝘜𝘍𝘍) ..THAT THAT DAY WILL BE COMING UP SOON! NYEH-HEH-HEH.." There was never a time that Papyrus didn't speak in his loudld energetic voice, even if he was absoloutely exhausted at the current moment.
After a moment of talking back and forth, Papyrus looked at the clock mounted on the cavern's wall above the dummy which was moved to the corner for the sparring match, it displayed the time on it's screen: 7:15PM.
Papyrus tilted his head for a second as he read the time, before straightening up once more as he realised how late it was. "WELL, WOULD YOU LOOK AT THE TIME? I HAVE TO BACK HOME, SEE YOU AROUND UNDYNE!"
Papyrus spoke at his usual loudness as he began walking away, waving back to Undyne as he did so- before suddenly stopping for a moment..
It must've been more than just a few moments, as Papyrus was brought back into reality once more when he felt the familiar weight of Undyne's hand on his back between his shoulder blades.
"..Hey dude, are you OK? You were just spacing out there for a while." Undyne asked him, a slightly concerned look on her face.
"OH. NO, THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS ALWAYS FINE AND DANDY, IT'S JUST.. I HAD A FEELING SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED JUST NOW." Papyrus said, turning his skull to the side momentarily to face Undyne properly, before speaking up once more as he began walking forwards again. "WELL ANYWAYS, I'M SURE IT'LL ALL BE FINE; SEE YOU LATER, UNDYNE!"
"(Fuuh.. I worry for those skeletons too much..)" She mumbeled to herself.
"Well, goodbye for today, I guess I'll see you tomorrow!!" Undyne shouted back, watching him disappear off into the distance, hearing him say goobdye back once more, before she also retreated back inside of her home.

It didn't take long for Papyrus to arrive back in Snowdin, standing infront the front door he reached for the doorknob, twisting it open as he walked inside and shut the door behind him.
"SANS, I'M HOME!!" Papyrus announced, stepping inside the empty living quarters, temporarily hanging his scarf up onto the wall-mounted coat rack at the door's entrance, removing his outdoor shoes and replacing them with his indoor shoes- which looked nearly identical- which stayed on a small shoe rack nearby.
After a second of no response, Papyrus spoke up again. "SANS?" He questioned to no one as he walked up the stairs, about to enter his own room which was infront of him, before deciding to check in his brother's room first.
"SANS, ARE YOU HOME?" Papyrus once again spoke to the silence, as he walked down the corridor infront of Sans' door, his hand resting on the door's handle. "SANS, I'M ENTERING YOUR ROOM NOW."
As the door creaked open, Papyrus saw that the room was void of Sans' presence, mentally noting that the trash tornado had gone aswell, leaving only a small pile of trash laying static on the floor.
Looking at the clock in Sans' room again, Papyrus muttered to himself. "WELL, I SUPPOSE THAT 𝘐𝘛 𝘐𝘚 ONLY 7:30PM.."
"𝘚𝘐𝘎𝘏... THAT LAZYBONES IS STILL PROBABLY LAZYING AROUND THAT ACCURSED, GREESY RESTURAUNT, UGH..." Papyrus spoke out loud to nobody in particular, as he entered his room and closed to the door behind him.
Papyrus stretched for a moment, before brushing his teeth and getting ready for the nighttime, turning off the light as he got into bed.
