Summary
Hermione Granger steps in front of a killing curse during the battle of Hogwarts. She sees a flash of green light and then she's gone. Strange and unknown magic brings her back to Hogwarts. Reeling from the sudden changes, Hermione tries to navigate a world that is not her own.
Hermione tries her best to keep the marauders at arms length, but eventually lines between her and Sirius start to blur, and sometimes the only way out is through.
He fell gracefully into a dramatic bow in front of her. His long locks falling forward to cover his eyes and his nose almost grazing the floor. His aristocratic up-brining shining through, in a way Hermione had never seen before. As he stood up, he grasped her hand in his, enveloping it completely, and brought it carefully to his lips. He kissed each of her knuckles like he was a dying man, and they were the last drops of water, making sure he knew how each one felt in his mouth.
She wasn't sure how he could make such an innocent act of greeting feel so... indecent.
Hermione's skin was kindling, and Sirius's lips were the match that lit her ablaze with each ghosted kiss.
