Work Text:
When she's supposed to be sleeping Rose can feel the hum- the rush underneath her skin that isn't supposed to be there, the rush that signifies alien. She can feel the beat of the TARDIS around her, the melody that invades her head when the hum threatens to overwhelm her.
When she's running she can feel the echo of a second heart that she does not have, she can see the whispers of timelines swirling around her. (She can see them around the Doctor too, in very few of them can she see herself )
Supposed to be sleeping she can feel the hum of everything and everyone, everything that could be, was, and is- sometimes she thinks it might be driving her mad, making her just the slightest bit more reckless. Her mind not quite human, she is something else- she knows she isn't just human anymore, she is something more.. she just isn't sure what. There are times when it's evident, when others can perceive her not-quite-humanity.
The glow under her skin that shouldn't be, the light sharpening of her teeth. Ears taking on a pointed quality that lets her hear better. All things that separate her.
Rose Tyler was human- the Bad Wolf was not.
(She's not quite sure which one she is anymore)
