Chapter Text
Alhaitham didn't expect himself staring at those blonde hair again after all these years. He could clearly feel his chest tightens. His heart thumping really hard it could jump off his chest. It wasn’t like this before. He preferred the beautiful memories to recollect over and over again rather than this; watching those breathtaking hazel eyes glared at him. Again.
“It’s not your business, Haitham,” he said. Oh, just how Alhaitham missed that voice phrasing his name and the coincidence of saying the exact same words from last time.
“It could. Let me..” Alhaitham almost felt choked by his own words. Carefully, he stepped closer. But he swore he could hear the other guy grind his teeth.
“No, fuck off!” The blonde screamed.
“Yeah, fuck off, big guy. This is none of your business!” Alhaitham came back to his senses and realized that there was another guy there, a big bald guy, with tattoos on his arms.
“Let’s talk about this somewhere else, please,” the owner of those piercing hazel eyes dragged the bald guy away from Alhaitham. It made another pang in Alhaitham’s chest that they seemed to know each other.
“Kaveh…” Alhaitham whimpered. But the other guy, Kaveh, didn’t mind to whatever Alhaitham was on. He kept on walking away, leaving him behind, on the corner of a busy alley.

“Hey, are you kidding me? This isn’t like you at all? Should I be worried?”
A concerned voice brought Alhaitham back from his empty gaze. He glanced to find his close friend there.
“What is it, Cyno..?” He lazily sighed and leaned his back into his chair, letting his head hang.
“Tighnari was asking if we gonna eat lunch together or not, he still got class until 12 PM..” Cyno sat on the empty seat beside Alhaitham.
Alhaitham checked his phone, it was half to 12. He sighed for god knows how many times today.
“Sure,” he said.
Cyno got quiet for a brief second, looked worried. “Sure you’re alright, though?”
Alhaitham gave Cyno side eyes before he answered, “doesn’t matter.”
Cyno looked like he was finally fed up with his best friend’s antics. Alhaitham realized it’s totally unlike him to overthink about things. He’s the type to get things and problems done efficiently and as soon as possible. So something like this is so uncanny and only happens once every five years.
“Hmmm, should I start asking people-”
“No! Please don’t!” Alhaitam cut Cyno mid-sentence.
Alhaitham actually wasn’t really sure if he should tell Cyno about this matter. But he will know , eventually. The guy basically has a whole information syndicate both inside and outside their school–in disguise of the TCG community.
“Then what is it?”
There’s a bit of silence between the question and the answer Alhaitham finally spurts.
“It’s Kaveh.”
Cyno swears he didn’t even put anything into his mouth yet he’s choking right now. His eyes widened in disbelief.
“Who?????” He had to make sure it wasn’t his clogged ears.
Alhaitham knew this was going to happen.
“Kaveh, I saw him yesterday. He was with some dude,” he repeated.
“Boyfriend?”
“I don’t know. But it seems like they know each other..”
Alhaitham reminisced about the moment that happened just last night. There were many things Alhaitham didn’t know about. There were so many things he wanted to ask Kaveh. But one thing for sure…
“Shit…” Cyno muttered.
“Shit indeed..” Alhaitham missed Kaveh. A lot.
“How long has it been? Four? Five years?”
“Five.. and a half.” It’s been that long since the last time Alhaitham saw Kaveh, his menacing gaze, and his wrist on his hand. Even if he said that nothing is Alhaitham's business, but he knew Alhaitham would do anything for him. They weren’t even saying goodbyes that time, Kaveh said 'see you at school' and Alhaitham believed him.
And yet, Kaveh never came back. Not the next day, not the day after, not the next month, nor next years. Nobody knows where he was. The school won’t even tell them where he was. He’s just vanished as if he never existed.
Until last night.
“Have you told Tighnari?” Cyno asked Alhaitham after he finally got a grip at the situation.
“Not yet..”
“Well, you both were the closest to him back then…”
Alhaitham scoffed. The conversation turned into something Alhaitham hated, longing.
