Summary
The bird seemed to flap just as anxious as Mikasa felt, holding still suddenly in midair while her feet squished against the ground as if there was water in the ground below. Right as Mikasa was about to steady herself correctly, however, the bird almost gave her a look of, “forgive me,” before it yanked her suddenly more toward the tree. Mikasa held out her hands as her balance tripped forward, her other foot falling forcefully with all of her weight as she tried to steady herself.
Unfortunately for her, that weight shift made an audible, “crack” sound, before the ground gave out beneath her and she suddenly fell a very long way down.
