Even though Adora had planned everything, and had her maid of honour picked out, there was still one thing to do.

"Wedding dress shopping!" Glimmer shook her arm. Adora raised an eyebrow. "You mean white dress shopping. Hardly a wedding dress occasion, really." She leant her chin on her hand. Glimmer rolled her eyes. "Either way. It still needs to be nice, Adora. Chances are you're only getting the one wedding,"

Adora quirked her eyebrows. "We don't even want a fancy wedding, Glim. We'd be happy with just us and a guy to authorise it," Glimmer made a face. "Can you at least act happy?" Adora sighed heavily and rubbed her eyes. "I'm sorry, Glimmer. I just... I'm not feeling great. I'll try," Truth be told, Adora would much rather be at home, under her blanket, cuddled up to Catra with Violet in her lap as they watched videos on a large datapad.

Poor Vi had a bought of the flu that she'd probably caught from school, so she'd been up all night again. Glimmer rubbed her knee. "Vi still sick?" Adora blew a puff of air out. "Yup. But... it's fine. You're right. I need to act happy," She rubbed her eyes. "Catra'll feel bad if I'm not happy... and I know she's doing it because she thinks I want this,"

Glimmer tutted. "She means well. Have you talked to her? Said that you don't want a huge wedding?" Adora faced with an incredulous expression. "Have you tried suggesting that Catra's idea isn't the one you like?" Glimmer hummed. "Besides, I know she's coming from a good place. She still feels bad about... everything..." Adora hesitated briefly. "She should," Glimmer huffed. "You realise she's only free because of you? And what she did at the Heart?" Adora absently scratched the failsafe scar on her chest. "If she'd kept running, she'd've been tried for all her crimes, and probably put away for life,"

Adora grimaced. "Oh," Glimmer hummed. "Yeah... Mermista's people are still angling for a semi-permanent ban on her going to Salineas," Adora winced. "Yeah... I get that," Glimmer fingered her ring, suddenly looking nervous. Adora narrowed her eyes. "What're you hiding?" She asked. Glimmer inhaled sharply, eyes roaming Adora's face, before sighing heavily. "Catra's also trying to get banned," Adora sat up straighter. "Why the hell would she do that?" Glimmer hesitated. "You cannot tell her, promise?" Adora wrinkled her nose. "Adora, promise. Or I won't tell you," Glimmer said. The blonde groaned. "Fine,"

Glimmer sighed softly. "She doesn't want you going... by getting banned, you won't go either... or at least, not for long," Adora frowned. "But why? She knows Mermista needs help rebuilding shit," She asked. Glimmer sighed again, even softer than before. "She thinks you're burning out. And doesn't want you to make yourself sick,"

Adora looked down.
She hadn't thought about that.
"But surely I could say the same?" She argued weakly. Glimmer scoffed slightly. "Catra doesn't care about herself though. It's always gonna be you first. If you were fighting something and it came down to you or her, you know it'd be her,"

Adora pushed open the clothing shop door. She looked down. "Oh," She said softly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Glimmer, seriously, stop fussing! It's fine," Adora laughed, batting Glimmer's hands away. She fussed with the small bouquet again. "Oh, you look beautiful," She gushed.
After many shop visits, Adora finally settled on a relatively cheap one-piece, white dress with golden accents. The same colours as She-Ra, but her newer outfit. She'd even convinced Glimmer for a golden sash instead of blue. Her shoulders were exposed where the top began just above her chest, stretching across her arms in a soft golden colour. The bodice was simple and plain white, with golden flowers acting as a belt around her waist, where a soft skirt flowed out. Seeing as Catra wanted to get married in the snow, Glimmer had also found an old shawl to wrap around Adora's shoulders, pinning the material together with a dark red rose. Her veil finished at her waist, flowing out of a golden headband.
It was perfect.
The red rose bouquet was of Perfuma's choosing, including flowers from her personal garden. Spinnerella had brushed her dirty blonde hair and styled it until it bounced ever so softly. Glimmer finally stopped fussing her with a small gasp. "You look radiant," She smiled. Adora did a small twirl. "Oh! It's beautiful, Adora,"
Adora reached over and pulled Glimmer into a hug. "Oh! What's this for?" Adora shook her head softly. "No reason. Just... thank you," She said. Glimmer wrapped her arms tightly around Adora's back. "You're not going anywhere you know. You're more than welcome to keep living in the castle if you don't want to leave. Bow won't care,"
Adora pulled back. "Don't cry! You'll mess up my hard work!" Glimmer chastised playfully. Adora chuckled. She faced the door, where Catra was waiting just behind. "Wish me luck," She pushed the door open, standing by Bow. "Oh, Dora... you look stunning," He whispered in awe, linking her arm with his, dabbing away his tears. Adora slapped his arm. "If I'm not allowed to cry, you're not either!" She hissed playfully as they walked. Bow chuckled wetly but didn't stop the tears.
Adora had eventually cracked to Catra about the size of the wedding she wanted. Catra had simply grinned as she hugged her tightly. "I know," She'd whispered. "I've arranged a small thing with just us and your Princess friends. We're gonna combine the party with the five-year celebration of the Heart," Adora had hugged her tightly after that, thanking her desperately in her ears.
So, thanks to Catra's hands, it was only a small(ish) wedding. The Rebellion had insisted on coming, so they were all present. Netossa and Spinny sat at the front with Violet and Glimmer's daughter, Angelle, who were best friends despite being two and a half years apart. Glimmer was stood at the front, while Bow would be behind her once they reached the alter. Swift Wind stood behind the officiator with a basket of apples, Frosta sat with Scorpia and Perfuma and their daughter, Flora, while Mermista sat with Sea-Hawk.
Even Huntara turned up, no less with Lonnie, Kyle and Rogelio. Despite inviting Entrapta, she wanted to bring Hordak. Both Adora and Catra had vehemently refused the ceremony. The most surprising though? Razz behind Bow, sweeping the stage. Despite only having their closest attend, it was a nice atmosphere. Catra had certainly outdone herself. She couldn't help the bolt of pride that shot through her heart when she met her eyes.
Catra's face grew slack as she watched her approach. Bow handed her off, sending a warning glare across to (one of) his best friends. Catra, predictably, rolled her eyes with a gnash at the air as she took Adora's hand. As the officiator began to talk, she leaned over. "You look absolutely amazing,"
Adora beamed. "You're not so bad yourself," She teased. The officiator droned on for what felt like hours, despite neither party preparing vows. Neither were good at that shit. They'd agreed to do a private vow reading alone under the stars. "Catra Applesauce Meowmeow, do you take Adora She-Ra as your lawfully wedded wife?" The officiator asked, facing Catra. "I do," She answered. "Do you promise to love, honour, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?"
"I do,"
The minister turned to Adora, whose heart promptly fell into her stomach. "Adora She-Ra, do you take Catra Applesauce Meowmeow as your lawfully wedded wife?" She took a breath. "I do,"
"Do you promise to love, honour, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?" She looked across, swallowing thickly. She exhaled deeply. "I do,"
The officiator smiled. "And now by the power vested in me by the Queen of Bright Moon, it is my honour and delight to declare you lawfully wedded Wives. You may kiss,"
Adora partly expected the dip, but Catra always caught her off guard. Hence: "Catra!" She squeaked, being dipped close enough for her hair to touch the ground. The present company laughed as Catra pulled her up, grunting as Violet crashed into their bodies. "Moms!" She yelled, throwing her basket in the air. Adora summoned the sword to catch it through the hoops, sliding it onto her arm, and resting it in the crook of her elbow. Catra tossed Violet up onto her hip. "Princessey enough for you, Mrs Violet?" She asked playfully. Violet hummed as she took off her tiara, sticking it into Catra's ponytail.
"Now it is!"
