Work Text:
I was already on my last streak of college, and I'm already working on my OJT quota. We sure do have a lot of time to accomplish for this sem.
I have also been working part time to help my family. For a sideline of income.
Since I barely had any time for myself, it has been a while since I checked the band that got me through the Summer of 2023-
PLAVE
It has been a while since I last watched the boys, so I decided to catch up with their live right now. I tried to hurry back home as possible, and while on commute I had their live on my phone. When I arrived back at my place, I instantly tuned in to their live through the laptop. It seems that they have been live 30 minutes ago. After tuning in, I freshened up a little bit, cleaned my face with facial wipes, and prepared my dinner while listening to their usual bickering.
For this live, it's only Noah and Hamin.
But who knows who could arrive later on.
This is PLAVE's live anyways.
[in Korean] "Ah hyung, you did say that this dance move was supposed to be like this." Hamin bumped his arm to Noah's arm, as to affirm if it was correct, as well as gain an ally.
Dance move? I suppose this is another comeback. The choreography doesn't seem familiar, so I would bet these two are the first ones to spoil their comeback, yet again.
As usual, their live proceeded to go on with one or two of the members spoiling their comeback, Yejun calling in to stop the members, and afterwards they would play a game either just the members present or with dduks, or with any member who would follow up and run to their set. It was always chaotic and homely, it oddly feels like all of them have been brothers all along.
If I were being honest, it kind of felt overwhelming coming back and checking up on the boys. A lot has happened while I was busy with personal stuff. The boys have reached higher peaks, they have achieved a lot of milestones, the fandom grew bigger, and alongside this had more inside jokes. There were some jokes that I wasn't able to understand, probably these were told like months ago. It felt natural to some viewers.
It honestly felt like I was watching a different boy band, yet still have the charisma of the boys I loved last year.
[in Korean] "Everyone thank you for joining in with us."
A familiar voice rang in my ears.
Ah.
It's Han Noah.
I felt a slight shiver down my spine when I heard his voice again. Yes, it sure has been a while, his voice got deeper and calmer, more soothing and relaxing, as if he was talking me a lullaby.
He became more mature, yet still the childish man I fell for.
The same man that raised my standards.
Fucking hell, just date me already-
And there my thoughts began wilding.
Back then, I would send some super chat on their live with only emojis, and it progressed to me sending them actual thank you messages every now and then. Every time I had like spare money, and if I feel like sending some super chat, I would try to make it as worth it as possible. And this time, alongside their comeback was also my comeback in watching them again. So I wanted to thank the boys for the inspiration they gave me back then, especially Noah.
{Plave, you guys have been my inspiration for striving to do better. I want to tell you that congratulations to your milestones! I love you guys very much. <3<3<3 Noah, saranghae!}
* * * * * * * * * *
Weeks have passed by since my comeback in watching PLAVE, and I've been doing well again. I guess their energy does some magic to me huh. Though I'm still on and off on watching them, more so when they announced that they are having a tour this time. I only knew about very late (as usual), so I wasn't able to know if my country was included or not. I also haven't seen much English post about it, so I assumed that they are only doing it around South Korea.
But here I am, still wishing it would include my country too.
If ever . . .
[cling-clang]
Ah, the bell at the entrance rang.
"Hello sir, may I take your order?"
As he went towards the counter, he started to scan our menu for his order. And for a moment, the customer didn't talk. His hair was covered with a black beanie, wore a black face mask, and a pretty put together outfit in gray and black.
I was skeptical as to who this person is was he hiding from someone? I he suspicious? Should I call the cops or manager?
After scanning the menu at the counter, he pointed at a drink and signaled me 'one' with his pointer finger.
"Ah, one Americano sir?"
He just nodded back.
"Alright sir, total is..."
After I told him the total of his order, he handed his payment then I gave him his receipt. I told him to take a seat first while waiting for his order, and he nodded back again and went to an available seat. I then proceeded to make his coffee.
And when I was in the middle of making his coffee, a co-worker of mine came to my side.
"Girl, you've been down lately, what's gotten into you?" she crossed her arms and leaned her back to the counter.
"Uh, nothing really [chuckles]." I tried to steer the conversation to a different direction while I grind the coffee beans.
"Oh please, I know you're bothered and all." she demanded I explain.
With her full nagging and interrogation, I stopped for a moment and faced her, "It's just that, my favorite boy in that group."
"Huh? What group?"
"You know, the group that I told you about, PLAVE."
"Yeah? What about it?"
"[sighs] Well, I'm kind of disappointed that I wouldn't be able to meet him. I mean, it's kind of a wishful thinking that I would actually meet him. Like, in person, in real life. They're on tour right now and I doubt our country is even included in the list." I kind of drooped a little after I spilled my thoughts.
After I explained, she just sighed and scratched her head, "Oh gurl, I thought it was something serious or what."
I just chuckled and she left my side to attend to another customer. When I finally finished his coffee, I placed a cup sleeve over and wrote a small note "Enjoy your coffee <3<3<3"
I honestly have a habit of putting three emojis on anything, small notes or chats to friends. It's kind of my branding at this point.
I called his attention to claim his order by the counter. When he's by the counter, I picked up some tissue and placed it on top of the cup.
"Here's you order sir-"
When I served the cup towards him, he grabbed my wrist and pulled down his face mask, leaned towards me.
"Sir-"
I felt panicked, didn't know what to do as it happened so fast.
He leaned towards my right cheek, and in a raspy and soothing voice he spoke, "Don't worry, our worlds have finally collide."
Eh?
What is he saying?
"Also, thank you for the coffee."
And for the second time, it finally registered in me.
No way.
