Tighnari paused his reading of his book to look over to the three men cuddled up together on the other side of the bed. He could join them, of course, but he couldn’t help staring at them for a moment before his eyes were drawn back to the pages in his hold.
He wasn’t sure why, but somewhere hidden among his logical thinking was a surprisingly loud voice shouting at him that he didn’t deserve to be in their loving embrace. Preposterous thinking, Tighnari usually referred to it, however the warmth and love radiating off the trio, simply just by them enjoying each other’s embrace was enough for Tighnari to doubt himself, for some reason he couldn’t fathom.
His ears betrayed his emotions however, ducking and folding down against his head, though he desperately chose to ignore it and hoped that they would go unnoticed.
Wishful thinking, unfortunately for the fox.
He heard shuffling movement beside him, but he didn’t dare raise his head, not wanting to possibly lock eyes with any of the men beside him. Perhaps, he thought to himself, that if he would pretend to be too focused, their attention would drift elsewhere.
“I can’t help but notice,” Kaveh’s voice broke the silence, “that a certain someone is missing from this equation.”
Tighnari felt heat rise to his face. He would have loved to have been able to pretend that he didn’t hear but again, his ears gave him away, twitching to the sound of Kaveh’s voice. Curses.
“Nari,” Cyno’s voice, soft with content then said. “Come join us, there is plenty of room.”
“I,” Tighnari began, unsure why his brain decided for him to sink lower into his seating position on his side of bed, his tail curled across his lap protectively. “I’m fine over here, thank you.”
Tighnari knew he could be stubborn when he wanted to be, but he couldn’t for the life of him figure out why he was being so stubborn when he was so politely invited to join in something he desperately wanted.
His ear twitched again; he thought it was out of annoyance with himself, but it was because someone’s fingers had decided to wiggle against them. Tighnari’s head shot round on alert to finally look at the three.
Alhaitham was the culprit for the small tickle on his ear, as his hand was still held out close to Tighnari’s head. “What do you think you’re doing?” Tighnari questioned with a pout.
“You look sad,” his answer was short.
“I’m fine,” Tighnari lied. “I’m just… trying to read my book.” He hoped that would be the end of it, but that would have been too easy, it would seem.
The weight shifted upon the bed, quite drastically, in fact. Before Tighnari could even register what was happening, an arm had hooked under his legs and around his torso and he was hoisted over to sit in a lap.
It was times like this that Tighnari could only sigh at his small size compared to the others. Cyno being the exception, but what he lacked in size he made up with muscle and strength. More than Tighnari, at least.
“Was that necessary?” Tighnari pouted up at the two grinning faces that were in front of him. He had been seated in Alhaitham’s lap, which he thankfully didn’t seem to mind.
“You can still read your book, don’t worry,” Cyno smiled, positioning himself to that he was now laying down Tighnari’s lap, his head resting on the fox’s stomach, which earned a small blush. Tighnari sighed in defeat, as he would like them to believe, but this is what he really wanted, and the small wag of his tail was an indication of that.
However, what he was not prepared for, was those darn tickling fingers against his ear again, both this time.
Tighnari gasped looking up at the silver haired culprit. “H-Hey!”
“Hey,” Alhaitham smiled down at the small fox in his lap.
“You know my ears are sensitive…”
“Yeah, I do.”
Tighnari huffed at the teasing and tried to fold them down out of his reach. He then let out a gasp when his shirt was suddenly lifted, and fingers started wiggling against his smooth stomach.
“C-Cynohoho! Stop that!” Tighnari squirmed but Alhaitham’s arms wrapped annoyingly tight around his smaller frame. He tried to kick his legs, but Cyno’s body weight held those down too, the only movement he could manage to pull off was the wagging of his tail.
Cyno only smirked as his response, not letting up on his tickles. Kaveh only chuckled at the scene, reaching out to gently stroke the blushed cheeks on Tighnari’s face as he giggled and laughed.
“We’re just making sure that all that sadness has gone away, Nari. After all, what kind of boyfriends would we be if we didn’t help our precious fox feel better, hm?”
It was affection Tighnari craved, and that is indeed what he was given. His laughs only grew when all three of his boyfriends began tickling him in different areas that he was certain he was going to die from affection overload.
But he was happy.
