"Be not afraid-" a charming Welsh voice rang out across the streets of Ketterdam late one evening, the alleyway filling with a golden angelic light that would have blinded anyone who looked at the wrong time.
Kaz felt a hand on his shoulder, and instantly tensed. The soothing voice did nothing to calm him, instead placed him on edge, and he quickly spun around, cane in hand.
Aziraphale squeaked in surprise as he was slashed across the cheek with the heavy cane, stumbling back and clutching his hands to his bleeding eye socket, "Oh my.." he stuttered over his words, bumbling as ever, even when bleeding out.

"Don't touch me, I don't need your comfort. She's dead. She died, and everything I have ever wanted has died with her" Kaz shouted. The boy was angry, but he never raised his voice, but the sight of Inej's still body pushed him over the edge. He blamed Aziraphale, and he would do more than make him bleed.
Kaz grabbed the angel by the throat thrusting him up against the wet wall of the alley they had found themselves in.

Aziraphale felt deep sympathy for the broken man in front of him. He knew how hard it was to be separated from one's soul mate. Crowley was still refusing to talk to him after he left for heaven. He had wanted to save them both, the Metatron would ensure they were never safe.
"I understand, I'm sorry for overstepping. I'm here to talk, should you ever be in need."
Kaz watched the blonde man, anger still clouding his judgement. He kept his hand on the angels neck, needing to hurt someone as much as he was. The angel started fighting back, realising that his life was truly in danger.
Aziraphale didn't want to be discorporated.

“Kaz, don’t” Aziraphale said, clutching at the hands that were around his neck
“She’s gone, do you understand that?” Kaz said through gritted teeth. “My entire fucking world has gone.”
Aziraphale looked at the broken man, sympathy etched on his face. “I know what it feels like to lose the one you love. I know the pain it causes and the hole it leaves behind. But killing someone shouldn’t be the solution.”
Kaz’s hands tightened around the angel’s throat.
“What would Inej want you to do, Kaz? Think about what she would want you to do.” Aziraphale choked out, slowly losing the ability to breathe.
Something clicked in Kaz’s brain and he let go of the Angel, who fell to the floor, taking in deep breaths.
“Never say her name again” Kaz spat out, as he turned around and walked out the alleyway, preparing for life without the one who made it worth living.
