Just a bit of a heads up, I won't be writing in Fleur's accent whenever she's speaking because it's hard to write in.

Work Text:

Cedra Diggory has been married to her wife, Fleur Diggory, for over ten years now, and her love for her has seemed to only grow larger the more time passed.

People like her father assume that the only reason she married Fleur is because of her beauty and status as a Veela. She's heard people whispering about how Fleur had used her Veela charm to seduce her and make Cedra infatuated with Fleur. This was one of the Cons of being a professional Quidditch player, reporters and fans alike both create both rumors about her.

Now at 31 years old, reporters have moved on from talking about her marriage to talking about her retirement. Both Cedra and Fleur both knew that Cedra would keep playing Quidditch until she was physically unable to but the reporters always seem to think otherwise.

Enough reminiscing about her career as a Quidditch player, her wife is due to return home at any moment now. Fleur was visiting an old friend from Beauxbatons and Cedra wanted to surprise her with a meal. Their anniversary was tomorrow and Cedra wanted to surprise her with an early anniversary gift. Fleur's always the one doing the cooking in their marriage and she wants to surprise Fleur by cooking her her favourite meal.

The dish was called Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew and it seemed easy enough to make. Cedra's made shrimp stew before and while it didn't come out horrible, it wasn't exactly good either. In her defense, she had never cooked shrimp before then let alone shrimp stew. Now she's more prepared, she's made shrimp stew 4 different times now and each time it didn't taste revolting. Cedra took out the ingredients needed to make Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew and mentally prepared herself to make this meal. It seemed a bit more complicated to make than normal shrimp stew but it'll probably come out tasting as okay as the others, maybe even better if she cooks it correctly.

It tastes even worse than all the other shrimp stews she's ever made. "Morgana, " Cedra gagged as she set the wooden spoon down on the pot. "How'd I make it taste worse than before?"

Sighing, Cedra said, "I'll just make another batch, hopefully it'll come out better than this one. "

Just as she was about to cast away the disgusting attempt at Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew she had just finished she heard the Floo. "Ma moitié, I bought you a gift from my mother's shop! " Fleur's beautiful voice called out.

"Oh, are you making dinner?" Fleur asked as she walked into the kitchen and saw the pot on the stove, she set a yellow gift bag on the table and sat down. "Lovely! I hope it comes out as good as that Raspberry pie you baked yesterday. "

Wincing, Cedra looked towards the stew in the pot. "It's finished but . . . it for sure won't be as good as that Raspberry pie. "

"Even if it isn't as good as the Raspberry pie, I'll still eat every last bite of it. " Fleur said with a beautifully wide smile, her blue eyes shining brighter than before.

"That's not a good idea, love. " Cedra warned. She's tried this Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew, it's not worth dying for.

"I'll never know until I try plus it was made by you ma moitié and I'll eat anything you make so long as it's edible. " Fleur said looking Cedra straight in the eyes. A shiver went down Cedra's spine and she felt her cheeks turning red from the love and honesty inside Fleur's eyes.

Sighing and reluctantly looking away from Fleur, Cedra looked at the Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew and grabbed a bowl, "I tried to warn you, love."

Fleur giggled upon hearing that and Cedra was sure that her face was as red as a tomato. How had she gotten so lucky? What had she done to deserve such a wonderfully caring and beautiful woman as her wife?

Pouring the dreadful shrimp stew into the bowl, she pondered for a moment if she should just vanish the stew and just make something else. A quick glance at her wife made her decide otherwise. The look in Fleur's eyes told her all she needed to know, Fleur was eating this meal no matter what.

As she set the bowl on the table in front of Fleur, she said "Its Marseille-Style Shrimp Stew, I wanted to try to make your favourite and well . . . I ended up creating this instead. "

"How considerate of you, mon amour! " Fleur said grabbing a nearby spoon to take a sip.

Cedra held her breath as Fleur put the spoon in her mouth. "It's not as bad as you're making it out to be. " Fleur said after a pregnant pause. "You just need to add more spices and this will taste divine. "

"Not as bad as I thought it was?" Cedra muttered confused. Fleur wasn't the type of person to lie about someone else's cooking, if it was bad, she'd say it's bad. "Here try some, " Fleur said handing her a spoonful of the shrimp stew. Carefully Cedra tried it for a second time and realised that it wasn't as bad as she thought it was.

Maybe her first spoonful was just a fluke? She watched as Fleur finished both her first and second servings before speaking up again. "So it wasn't disgusting?" Cedra asked unsure if Fleur had changed her mind yet.

"No, it was almost the exact opposite. " Fleur said gently, "I could tell it was made with love and passion. "

Cedra blushed, "Well you're not wrong. "

Fleur handed her the yellow gift bag, "Open it mon amour, I'm sure you'll love it. "

After opening the bag and removing the tissue paper, she saw a wooden statue inside the bag. Taking it out she saw that it was a badger. The wooden badger statue was as tall as her forearm and was painted yellow and black to symbolize her old Hogwarts house, Hufflepuff.

After a prolonged silence Fleur asked nervously, "Do you like it? "

"I love it, " Cedra said with tears in her eyes. "And I love you. "

Hope you enjoyed this fanfic. Comments are appreciated.

Apparently Female Cedric Diggory isn't a tag, I just found this out. There's fanfic including it but very few.
