Summary
The cabin is dark when Martin wakes. His eyes don’t really take in the surroundings until they do, and then he’s rapidly awake and his heart is beating about three times as fast as it should be for an elite athlete.
Because Erling, splayed out in his own seat, isn’t asleep. Because Erling is on his phone, and the screen is just bright enough for even Martin’s tired eyes to make out the image: the shape of bare shoulders and chest, connecting to a defined stomach with the abs tensed, just a hint of blond hair at the top of the photo indicating whose body this is.
