Work Text:

Sasaeng fans are not normal. They are obsessed with people in a really bad way.

And SEVENTEEN has to face one of them.

It all started at a fansing. It was just like a normal, typical fansing until she arrived. She sat in front of Chan who was sitting in the first place and the only thing she did was just stare at Chan the whole time. She didn’t even say anything even after Chan tried to create a conversation. After she ran out of time and had to go to the next person, she became all smiley and started to look very happy about the time finally passing and being able to move on from Chan. She got her album signed by every member and chatted with all of them, again, except Chan. After she gave every one of the members, gifts and letters she went back to her seat in the crowd and stared at Chan directly in the eye, making eye contact every time he looked at that direction.

It was pretty terrifying. But it was not the only weird thing about her. The only person she didn’t bring anything for, was Chan who was the first person she talked to so there was no way she can “ran out” of gifts or anything. It  was common for fans to bring many different gifts for the whole group. It wasn’t as common as that, but fans brought gifts for just their bias too. But it was not common for fans to bring presents for everyone except one person. It did not happen before and no one wanted something like that to happen anyway.

The other members thought she was weird too. She was friendly with everyone but again, except Chan. And he was a little bit hurt by that, he figured out that the fan didn’t liked him and it was quiet hurtful since he loved all of his fans equally and always hoped they loved him too. But he knew it was okay and tried to not mind it as much.

The real problem started when they received a letter and a black box to their dorm. Their manager was not the one to bring the items like the other times they received letters from fans or their family, friends. It was a delivery, and this meant that the person who sent it knew their address. Mingyu was the one to get the package since he was the closest to the door and was cooking for the group in the kitchen.

On the package, it said it was for Chan so Mingyu didn’t bother opening it and called out for him saying that he had a package for him before disappearing into the kitchen hoping that the food didn’t overcook. Chan ran to the door happily he knew his parents were going to send him a package since they told him about it yesterday evening, the last time they talked. It was weird for it to arrive this early because his parents were sending it from the place they went to make a trip and that place was far away.

But because of his excitement, he didn’t think about any of this and ran back to his room, after grabbing the box and the letter. He was literally jumping on his way there. Once he made it to his room, he sat on the floor and put the box and the letter in front of him. He quickly opened the box first think no the letter was about something in the box and he didn’t want to learn what was in it. He slowly opened the box but the things inside it didn’t make sense. It wasn’t something his parents would send to him.

In the box, there was one dried flower, a very sharp looking small knife that can fold in half, a small turtle plushie with big black eyes and a printed photo of SEVENTEEN posing with each other that was probably taken in one of their latest concert. He didn’t examine and looked closely to the photo or other things. He grabbed the letter that ye originally put aside and started to read it hoping there will be some explanation there.

“To Lee Chan,

I’m sure you were waiting for a package from your parents, but instead you received this box and letter from me. You probably didn’t look close enough to the items that is in the box as well. About this package being sent by me and not your parents, if you deserved it i would say sorry, but you don’t. You don’t deserve anything. From the money you earn to your lacking dance skills. Everything about you is unbalanced and disappointing. SEVENTEEN is an amazing group except you. Don’t you agree with me, Chan?

The only reason you are here today is because the company couldn’t kick you out, if they did your parents would spread rumors to everyone they know to let them know that the company was the one to blame. To not dirty ther name, they didn’t make you leave the company. I truly love everyone in SEVENTEEN, except you. 13 Is an odd number, Chan. And the last one is always the one that will be leaving first. Leave the company, live a quiet life.

Don’t make our ears bleed and torture our eyes with your voice and existence. I you quietly leave, no one will stop you. The others would be a better maknae than someone who doesn’t love his hyungs enough and appreciate them as he should. If you don’t leave SEVENTEEN and stop dirtying their name, i’ll have to do it myself. You have three days. Don’t forget the fact that i know your address, parents address and most of your close friends phone numbers and places they go the most. Don’t worry, i’ll enjoy watching your face fill with horror as you read this.

From the girl who ignored you during fansign,

 sounds familiar?”

Chan was definitely shocked and confused. He let the letter slide between his hands to the ground as he stares at the box. this definitely wasn’t a typical hate letter. He picked up the letter again and that was when he noticed something. Two red dots, in the corner of the paper. Chan was not stupid and could figure out that it wasn’t paint. Blood. It looked like it, smelled like it and there was no way a paint was that realistic.

The “I’ll enjoy watching your face fill with horror as you read this.”  part was terrifying. He stared at the box, trying to guess what can have a camera in it. He put the plushie facing him, the knife next to the plushie and when he was taking out the piece of paper that had their picture printed in it, he noticed that there was hearts and “I love you”s around everyone written their favorite colors. Except him. His face was painted to red which looked like the one from the letter. So it was probably not paint, it was blood. His whole face was painted with blood and there was written thing like “Leave” and  “Do what I said.” kind of things.

A tear fell on the paper from his teary eyes, making it wet. Then he looked at the other “gifts” that was when he noticed. The plushie’s eyes were black, and big enough to fit a small camera in it. He quickly wiped away his tears and snatched the plushie from where it was and searche for the cameras in its eyes. And there it was, a little red light flashing. It was almost impossible to see but since his room was not that bright so he was able to see it. He frowned and threw the plushie to the opposite side of the room.

He didn’t act the same after what happened. The members noticed it, the fans noticed it and even his parents noticed it when they were talking in the phone. He always felt like he was being watched but he took the plushie out along with the trash the same day he opened the package. And now, he was walking to the company for a solo schedule. Was it the best decision to walk alone? Absolutely not. But he couldn’t care less about the risks of getting kidnapped.

He just wanted to get back to his life and walk without fear. As he walked faster, he heard footsteps behind. Without even having time to turn around, a white cloth covered his nose and mouth and a strong pair of hands held his hands, making him sink into the ground. He tried to get out of the person's hold, but he was losing strength. He tried to scream through the funky smelling cloth but it wasn’t loud enough for anyone to hear.

Chan looked around, hopelessly trying to manage to get out of the person’s hold. There was no one around, it was weird since it was a busy place. But he didn’t had time to think about that. He felt like he was passing out. The arms around him got stronger as he protested to get out. Eventually, he gave up. As his eyes closed, the cloth was taken away and he was layed down on the ground softly.

Chan’s body was aching and couldn’t move. When he woke up and opened his eyes, muffled shouting and loud noises were echoing. Confused, he tried to remember what happened. The white cloth. Chan quickly looked around to see who was shouting after the memories filled his mind. As he scanned the basement like place he noticed everyone was standing behind a glass barrier. He was seated and tied to a chair in the middle of the room, at the other side of the barrier. So that was why his body was aching so bad and he couldn’t move when he woke up.

His hands were tied to the arms of the chair and the same went for his legs. The members were kicking and punching the glass, shouting things that Chan couldn’t understand through the glass barrier at the moment. On the other side there was a woman who seemed like she didn’t notice he was awake just yet. “Hello?” he called. The woman immediately turned around. The members worried looks were on him too. As long as he understood, this woman hired a man to kidnapped him and his members.

He didn’t feel safe or comfortable at this place. Worries filled his body and his stomach turned at the sight of the woman walking up to him. “Hello, Lee Chan.” said the woman, holding a small knife in her hand that Chan didn’t notice before. “Can you guess who I am before I tell you, hm?” The woman was staring at the members who looked like they would do anything to be in the same room as Chan and protect him. Chan shook his head left and right as well as saying  “No, who are you?” Woman laughed and fixed her long, dark brown hair. She wasn’t tall but wasn’t short, and had beautiful green eyes. The rest of her face was covered with a black mask.

“I’m Iseul. Or you can call me the girl who gave you a pretty gift and an ‘emotional’ letter that you didn’t tell your members about if you want.” She smirked and watched the members as they slowly stopped punching the glass and looked at Chan with a shocked, disappointed look in their face. Without letting Chan say a word, she pulled out her knife and approached Chan. “Didn’t I tell you to leave this group?” She slowly pressed the sharp knife against his forearm. Chan three his head back and hissed at the pain slowly spreading to his body.

Iseul pressed harder on his other arm, but on his wrists this time. He screamed, trying to break free from the rope, but it was tied tight enough for him to not even be able to move his arms. The warm, bright red blood poured out of the two scars on his arm and wrist and met with the cement floor as tears poured down his face. Iseul backed away from him this time and began to talk about how amazing SEVENTEEN would be without him ruining it. She walked around the basement before making her way to Chan as she talked.

She was making little scratches around his neck with the now bloody knife. Chan held his breath as the knife got closer and closer to his veins. But without getting an injury there, police sirens started to ring in front of the door. Apparently, Iseul thought about everything but taking the other members phone and searching their body. Being one of the only ones who could stay calm, Wonwoo called the police and gave them the address. If Iseul didn’t forget about taking their phone, it would end up pretty bad.

And that was why Chan was now being carried to their couch by Seungcheol. He buried his face in the nose of the leaders neck and hugged him as close as possible. He was shaking when she was placed on the soft couch. He held onto Seungchol’s shirt so he couldn’t let go. “Channie, I need to call the company and help others, okay? Can you hug Jihoon while i’m gone, i’m sure he’ll let the adorable maknae use him as a cuddle buddy.” Seungcheol he reassured him and called Jihoon to look after Chan. Jihoon was back with Soonyoung and Jeonghan.

Chan whined and tears continues streamed down his face as he hugged Jihoon. Soonyoung was caressing his soft hair and Jeonghan was whispering soothing words to his ears to help him relax. “I love you all.” Chan mumbled, others didnt said anything until the figured out what he was saying. They all responded with a “We love you too.” and The rest of the members joined them one by one and in little groups.

Seungkwan and Vernon brought Chan some comfortable clothes and joined them on the couch. Seungcheol came back after a quick meeting with the manager and deciding that Chan will have time off as ping as he wants to recover. Joshua and Seokmin came there with teary eyes and a lot of blankets as well as soft pillows. Wonwoo and Mingyu came at the right moments and helped them to make a big cuddle area. Junhui and Minghao were the last ones to join the cuddling session because they prepared food and drinks for everyone. In their big cuddle area, they got Chan in the middle and cuddle to him on every way possible until Chan fell asleep and they carried him to his bed along.
