Work Text:

The break up was sudden, out of the blue.

Theo was blunt about it, as though doing it caused him no pain.

For Boris? He swore he could hear his heart cracking. He kept a facade on, though, waiting until Theo had long since walked out of the Pavlikovsky's house, before the first tear dropped. Then another, and another, until it was a flood from his eyes.

A sob caught in his throat as he collapsed to his knees, his shoulders shaking from the force of his silent cries. Tears steadily streamed down his face as he wrapped his arms around himself in a makeshift hug, crying harder once he realized that he would never get one of Theo's hugs again.

Sobs racked his body as he knelt down on the floor of his living room, crying over a fucking boy who probably never loved him. A boy he really liked, a boy he may have even begun to love. But he would never know, now would he? Because said boy had just ended their relationship, ended his reason for living, without so much as a hint of sadness.

It recked Boris, but it was like discarding away trash to Theo. Maybe that's what Boris was. A piece of trash, a shiny flashy thing that gave Theo entertainment until he got bored.

Maybe he was too loud. Too annoying. Too emo, too suffocating, too much.

Yeah, he always was.

Too much for his dad, too much for his other friends, whom all got annoyed with him.

But Theo?

Theo had assured him he was never too much, had told Boris he was smart when Boris called himself stupid, had been there and listened.

And now?

Now, Theo was gone. Now, Theo realized how worthless Boris was. Now, Boris was alone again, with nothing but a broken heart.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

And it was his fault.

It had to be, didn't it?

He had been too clingy, too on Theo, always there.

"Inseperable!" people had said.

"Joined at the hip, those two." they said.

"Never going to grow apart." they murmured when they saw Theo and Boris.

Now, none of that was true.

Now, Boris had lost his other half.

Now?

Boris was alone.
