It was only a matter of time in all honesty. Steve wasn't stable even in his relationship with Eddie, So for anyone looking just beneath the surface, would have an idea.
Knew that it could happen, but could only hope it wouldn't, she hoped it wouldn't, but it did. And she couldn't handle it, so struck with grief and rage, Robin just couldn't breathe. See Robin had been the only one to be able to see past that shitty wall that he used in a desperate attempt to cover up his pain, the doubt anything that might worry them. No one but her had even thought to think for one moment, to put the pieces together as she had. It didn't even matter that she was his best friend, his platonic soulmate with a capital P. She had figured it out before she even actually met him. So she was pissed. How was it, That only she had enough common sense to see he wasn't okay? That he hadn't been okay for years? Why was it only her who figured it out and attempted to help him when he was still properly here? These people claimed to be close to him and didn't know? Bull. Either they were liars with no social awareness or they didn't give a shit about him. These thoughts were what brought Robin to deck Eddie in the face just now, in front of quite a few people. She didn't completely blame him, hell. A few weeks ago, she probably would have hugged him for how much he personally had helped Steve, even if said relationship hurt Steve more than she would have liked.
"fuck you," Venom seeping into her words as she spoke, "Fuck you fuck you fuck you, I hate you so fucking much you piece of shit." Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she glared down at the frozen man on the ground.
"oi, what the hell Robin?" one of the kids yelled, probably Dustin but she just couldn't care. "why'd you do that!?"
"He's a fucking dick who hurt my best friend, that's why." She turned wanting to get the fuck outta there,
Eddie must've gotten up because he was holding her wrist, forcing her to stay. "the hell do ya mean? Did Steve put you up to this?"
"Please, Steve wouldn't have let me near you with a ten-foot pole, you were essentially his world." she rolled her eyes pulling her wrist out of his grip
"What..." It was barely a whisper but she caught it, and she could hear the guilt,
so she continued. "He spoke as if you hung the moon and the stars, being with you hurt him quite a lot actually, considering how much shit he got from like anyone who cared about you even slightly hell Dustin threatened him and didn't even give you the same courtesy. It's honestly such bull. He didn't even think he deserved you thought he was the luckiest guy on the goddamn planet. If anything, you didn't deserve him, he grew so much as a person, and couldn't hate a single goddamn person but himself. I have no fucking clue how any of you could claim to care about him when I was the only one who noticed he was hurting and tried to do something about it until it was too fucking late."
She knew she should have stopped ages ago, but the fucking look on his face as he realized what happened helped, at least he was finally understanding even if it was way too fucking late.
"too... late...? no.. no nonono... please tell me your lying..." she watched with disdain as tears spilled from his eyes.
"He's been in critical condition for two days. Doctors don't think he'll make it. If he does. I sure as hell won't let a single one of you near him." The pain in her voice was evident as she spoke with such conviction no one could dare argue.
