Khasar sprawled across the roots of the tree and stared up at the cloudless sky of the Shroud until he saw spots. It wasn’t enough to distract him from the bickering going on below him. U’ramdh and Asta were at it again. Khasar had little to no interest in what the argument was about, but he couldn’t help hearing it. U’ramdh was right up in Asta’s face, gesturing sharply. Asta’s shoulders were set and she was glaring.
‘Just kiss already!’ Khasar groaned.
Blessed silence fell.
Khasar refused to look, but Asta’s small, surprised ‘oh’ suggested his advice had been heeded.
