Chapter Text
An old radio sat on the dresser.
In the other room, a monster shuffled. It carried out its human tasks mindlessly, like a puppet on strings.
Six approached the radio, plan already formed.
All she had to do was climb up the dresser, turn the radio on, jump down, hide under the dresser, and hope the monster came in to turn it off so she could sneak away.
She began her ascent up the unnaturally tall dresser. She pulled herself up, coming face to face with the radio.
She turned the dial, hearing it crackle to life before climbing back down. But what came out of it wasn't music. It was a shadow, slinking down to where she stood.
-
To be honest, Alastor had no intention of ending up here.
He had simply noticed something... Off with one of his radios.
Not a technical problem, but a supernatural disturbance.
He began to fiddle with it with his magic. Next thing he knew he had materialized in a completely different place.
He carefully surveyed the gloomy location. Everything seemed to be large and warped. It was neat, yet somehow also in disrepair. Rotting. The wallpaper peeled off cracked walls filled with framed photos of grotesque monsters.
And then he looked down.
In front of him was what appeared to be a 9 year old girl. She was short and very thin, her bony limbs covered in a thin layer of dirt. Her skin was pale and she had short messy black hair and long bangs that covered her blue, almost gray eyes. She wore a yellow raincoat with a triangular hood and was barefoot.
"Hello dear... "
The child quickly scattered. He watched as she ran, unaffected. He turned back around to face the radio he had emerged from. Curiously, he tested to see if he could possibly travel back.
It seemed to work for a second, until his powers were mysteriously blocked.
"Hm... Well this is a dilemma." Suddenly he heard a sharp scream.
He turned around just in time to a large twisted monster snatch up the girl. Alastor saw red.
In the blink of an eye, the creature's arm was sliced off. The girl fell to the floor.
"You know, I think the lowest blow is attacking children."
Alastor approached, clutching an axe.
"It's truly shameless."
He raised the axe above his head, and with a few swings he sliced the creature in half.
He changed his axe back into his cane before turning his attention to the girl.
"Are you alright, dear?" He said, holding out his hand. She hesitated for a moment, before cautiously taking his hand and letting herself be pulled back on her feet.
"My name is Alastor, and you are...?"
"Six." She mumbled.
"Hmm, Six. What a peculiar yet charming name! Now, tell me Six, what is this place?"
She stayed quiet for a moment. "The Nowhere... "
"Well it certainly is somewhere, ha ha! Where are your parents?"
"I can't quite remember them... " She said, saddened. "But I do know that this isn't home."
"Well then I suppose we'll have to find a way out together." He held her hand, guiding her out of the dim room.
"Although, it might be a little harder... My powers seem to be limited here."
"It's stopping you."
Alastor raised his eyebrow.
"The Flesh Walls. I don't think it likes powers it didn't create."
Whatever that was, it was obvious it was going to impede their plans of leaving. But still... How did she infer that so quickly?
"Clever girl... " He had a feeling she was going to be very helpful.
