Work Text:
It was a nice day. Branzy had finished the redstone that he needed to do for some upcoming projects, and had already put Squido to bed. And what better way to spend the rest of the day other than to walk around the server! After all, in between being Kevin, being himself, and doing redstone he didnt get alot of time to just walk around and explore.
Whoosh! He turned to his right and saw Rekrap approaching land on the ground. He looked more than a little panicked as he hurriedly approached Branzy.
“Branzy! Have you met the new member yet?”Rek asked hurriedly, alarm evident in his voice.
“You mean Clown?” Branzy asked, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks. After Clown had let him ramble about his love for animals yesterday, he had gotten a bit of a crush on the jester.
“Yes! Him! You have to be careful around him!” Rek blurted out.
“What why? When I talked to him yesterday he seemed nice enough.”
“...Do you remember the other server I'm on? Lifesteal? He's also on it, and he is considered the deadliest player by some there.”
“Rek, don't worry about it! I'm sure it's fine! I can handle myself after all.” Behind him he heard soft footsteps approaching them, then a hand was placed on his shoulder.
“Hello Branzy.” Clown began, “Rekrap.” He turned and nodded at Rek who hurriedly flew away. After all Rek was more a flight type then a fight type. “That was… Interesting.” Clown remarked, after Rekrap flew away and had left their vicinity. “Anyway, I haven't really had much of a chance to explore the market place and other community places on this server. How about you show me around?”
Branzys eyes lit up with excitement. The idea of leading someone around and showing them what he and his friends had built on this server was a pleasant one. “Of course! Follow me!” With that Branzy grabbed Clowns hand and started leading him around the server while explaining which areas where what.
After some time they found themselves at an old base that was located underground. It looked like it had inhabitants but none all at once. In the centre of the base there was a big copper beacon, despite that copper can not fuel a beacon. Along the sides of the base there were shop-like stands, with what looked like villagers. Oddly enough there were a bunch of armour stands littered all over the place, all wearing mask with Branzys face on it.
“This,” Branzy began, “Is a secret base.” Branzy began walking around the base, towards the back wall, with Clownpeirce following. Branzy took out his pickaxe, breaking through the back wall revealing a secret damp back room, as if the room had been flooded recently.
“Do you know who this base belongs to?” Clown asked curiously. The base definitely had a lot of stories hidden behind it, not to mention it was excelently built and well hidden. Perhaps he could use it to his advantage in the future.
“The base was originally built by Rek, but then I stole it. Then Chief stole it from me, and then someone else came in and claimed ownership to it, which we still don’t know. So, in revenge we flooded this room.” Branzy said as he motioned around the room. “Although I guess they ended up draining it. What a shame.” Branzy began to lead Clown outside.
“Well, I should probably go. I have some things I need to take care of on another server.” Clown said as he exited the base alongside Branzy, before turning to face him. “I'll see you another time. Bye Branzy.” Clownpierce and Branzy bid each other goodbye before Clown logged off.
When Clown was gone Branzy turned around and began the trek towards Chief's house (His real house, not the one they had been fighting over). He had some things to talk with him about concerning the Kevin incident.
Soon enough he had reached Chiefs base. Knocking on the door twice before he heard Chief yell for him to come in, so he opened the door and went inside. Chief was sitting on a sofa to his left after he closed the door, reading a book.
“Hey Branzy!” Chief sat his book down on the coffee table before patting the spot beside him on the sofa, “Come sit.”
Branzy joined him on the sofa and looked down at the ground. “Yesterday. When you accused me of being Kevin. Why? What made you think I was Kevin?” Branzy asked, making direct eye contact with him.
“I'm sorry Branzy. I was so sure that you were Kevin when I first accused you. But I had second thoughts when we were so close to trapping you. I just had to go through with it. I was wrong.” Chief apologised to Branzy sincerely.
A second later Branzy burst out laughing, and all Chief could do was stare at him bewilderedly. Once Branzy calmed down from his laughing fit he finally spoke, “Oh, you poor poor thing. I WAS Kevin!”
“Wait- What?!? Really?” Chief said. “Wait so I was right!” Chief slid up in his seat confidently.
“Yeah. I can't believe no one found out sooner. With actual proof I mean.”
“Wow. You really played both sides. AND you were smart with it. Good job dude. Good job.” Chief said, shooting a kind smile at Branzy. Chief then looked out the window before saying, “Well it's pretty late, and there will be mobs out. Would you like to stay here for the night?”
“I can, but i'll have to leave pretty early tomorrow so that I can make sure Squido is okay.” Branzy stated, before he and Chief stood up and each started heading towards their bedrooms.
“You still have Squido?” Chief asked, a look of surprise painted on his face. “I thought you would have left her behind when the server moved to the new biomes.”
“I keeped her. But I had to haul her over my shoulder for the full distance.” Branzy said leaning on the door frame.
“Wasn’t she heavy?”
“Yes but I'd do anything for her. Anyway man, have a good night!” Branzy said before turning around and walking further into the room.
“Good night Branzy.” Chief walked up the stairs a little before stopping and turning around, “And Branzy? If you leave before I wake up, could you lock the door when you leave please?” He finished before going all the way up the stairs, to his room.
Branzy started getting ready to bed, changing into his night clothes, taking off his glasses and brushing his teeth and climbing into bed, and falling asleep. Up stairs Chief was doing the same, and was also asleep.
On the other side of the server Squido was dozing off, with Clownpeirce gently stroking her head. Clown had long since came back from doing his business on lifesteal, and was waiting in Branzys base for him to come back. When he had found Branzys empty base with a goat in it, he had taken it upon himself to take care of her till he was back. Now that it was midnight and there was no Branzy, Clown decided to go looking for him.
Clown stood up and grabbed his scythe (Which he had somehow snuck on Echocraft), and began to make his way around the server, looking for his crush. He visited the market place, the no-man's base, the caves base and the cliffs base all with no Branzy. Eventually, he reached Chiefs base where he checked the upstairs window and saw a Chief that was half asleep and on the ground. No Branzy in sight. Moving to the downstairs window he saw a asleep Branzy. Bingo.
And well Clown couldn’t just let Branzy sleep in a man's house who he didn’t know, so he decided to wait outside the window till his love wakes up. Soon enough Clown found himself also drifting off. So he climbed up a tree and made a nest to sleep in. He was close enough to watch Branzy, but still safe enough to sleep. Peeling his mask off his head revealed goat ears. Clown drifted off to sleep, leaving whatever consequences which could occur from this to be dealt with tomorrow. For now it was sleep time.
