"Yo, where should we go for our next video?" Sam asked Colby in the kitchen of their house.
"How about we do another challenge here at the house?" Colby suggested.
You were upstairs in the guest room. You had been staying with the boys for a couple weeks since your apartment burned down. You have been friends with Sam since you were kids. Your parents were friends, so you and Sam hung out a bunch when you were little.
When Sam met Colby, you two grew apart, but still remained in touch. Him and Colby built such a strong and precious friendship over the years, and it made you happy to see Sam happy. You and Sam still saw each other every once in a while to catch up on everything, and you've met Colby a few times as well. You and him get along, but you don't know him as well as you do Sam.
When your apartment burned down because of an old lady a few doors down who's cat chewed up a wire, causing a fire that spread too far, too fast. You couldn't afford insurance, and your parents lived in Kansas still, but when Sam found out about the fire, he invited you to stay with him as long as you need, rent free.
So here you are, staying in Sam's guest room.
You overheard the boys downstairs discussing video ideas. You didn't want to interrupt anything, so you stayed up in the guest room and continued scrolling on your phone. Eventually, after hearing murmurs talking downstairs for a little while, hear footsteps coming upstairs. There is a knock on the bedroom door.
"Come in!" You shout to whoever is on the other side of the door. Sam walks in.
"Hey, Y/N! We were talking about video ideas we could do here, and we decided to do a challenge video somewhere haunted, wanna be in the video?" Sam asks, standing at the doorway. The bedroom door is halfway open, the bright light shining into the colorful room, messing with the brightness of your LED lights that are currently set to your favorite color.
"Uhm... I mean yeah, sure? Why not?" You say, unsure of what the challenge is, but excited to finally be in a video with them, because you haven't been in one before. "Sick! Alright Colby! She's in!" Sam yells downstairs to Colby, sitting on the couch, scrolling on his phone.
"What's the challenge?" You ask, knowing this will determine if you actually want to participate or not.
"It's pretty much our normal videos, but a challenge. You know how we encourage people to sit in haunted rooms all alone in our videos, and they don't have a light most of the time? Or they have to walk down a haunted hallway without a light? We're pretty much doing that, but it's no longer an option to leave, so we are getting permission beforehand from you, because even though you are allowed to leave, you wouldn't want to lose the challenge and have to post an embarrassing photo of you on your Instagram story, right?"
"Okay... that's the loser's punishment, what's the prize for the winner?"
Sam stands in the doorway, and he leans against the doorframe of your temporary bedroom and pulls out his phone from his jeans pocket. He scrolls and taps and types, then he stands up straight and walks over to you, sitting next to you on the bed and turning his phone over so that you can see it. On his phone, there is an online concert ticket to see one of your favorite musicians live! You get excited and want to participate in the challenge even more now! You read on Sam's phone that the ticket is for two people, so you can take anyone you want to the concert with you!
"Wait- is that real?!" You quake, shocked at what you're seeing.
"Yup. Two months from now. Tickets went online two days ago and I know how much you like their music, and Colby and I enjoy it as well, so I thought it would be a really good prize for a challenge video!" Sam answers, smiling brightly at you. You had no clue that they liked this band as well. You wished there were three tickets so you could all three go together, but you knew who you wanted to take.
"Well in that case, there's no fucking way I'm gonna NOT gonna be in that video!" You shout excitedly.
"Alright, we leave tomorrow evening before dinner so we can tour in the daytime, then we will eat dinner at a place nearby, and come back for the challenge! It's not too far from here, the drive is only a few hours with light traffic."
