She reaches out to touch him and he jolts with laughter when her fingers make contact with his face.
She quickly pulls her hand away.
“Sorry, my love!” He lets out another laugh, “Your touch right now is a little prickly-” he takes a deep breath to calm himself, “it’s just a bit electrifying is all.”
“You’re ticklish?” She asks amused for a moment.
“Isn’t everyone?”
“No,” Lae’zel says flatly. The Gith is hunched over examining the many corpses and looking for loot.
She looks at her hands still crackling slightly with magic. She had never touched anyone so soon after a battle. Of course others would feel it. She made a mental note to find some gloves to hopefully nullify the lingering effects.
Gale steps closer and holds his hand out. “Come here.” He says it gently. The tone of voice reminds her when she sat with him in that conjured illusion. When he showed her his home in Waterdeep before making love in the stars. It causes a sweet feeling to spear her in the chest for a moment and she smiles bashfully.
She moves closer to him and holds out her hands.
He grabs one of her wrists and pulls it up to his mouth. She watches as he places a soft kiss to the inside of her wrist. She gasps and he smiles against her skin. He brings up another hand to trace some sort of pattern on her skin. A faint glowing light follows his finger as he whispers some sort of incantation that seemed familiar to her but was off in some way.
She feels the tingle of leftover magic leave her hand. “Huh.”
“Other one.” He commands softly and she immediately complies. He does the same process on her other wrist. He moves his hands to grab both of her’s when he's done, intertwining their fingers together.
She's at a loss for words for a moment.
“I crafted different iterations of a counterspell and came up with one to aid you in situations such as this." He gives her hands a light loving squeeze, "I was able to develop it over our journey.” He then brings her hands up to his mouth and kisses them, “It’s supposed to dispel any overflowing magic but keep what you have at your core safe and ready to be called upon.”
“Gale I- thank you! Could you teach it to me?”
“Of course.”
She can hear Lae’zel grumble something from behind them, “Can we leave now? I’m sure you two can carry on with your pleasantries at camp.”
She gives Gale a quick kiss on the cheek before distancing herself from him.
“We need to head back to Sorcerous Sundries.” She says, “There’s robes there I’d like to buy now that we have enough gold.”
“Must we go shopping again?” Lae’zel says with an eye roll.
“Yes, yes.” She replies,” It’s important! The robes are for my wizard!”
That earns another eye roll from Lae’zel and a small chuckle from Gale.
