Chapter Text
Thunderstorms were never easy to sleep through. I mean, loud thunder, lightning constantly shaking his house, the light, and the most obvious, the pounding of large raindrops on the sides and roof of his house.
Just another day in California. God, why didn't they move to Colorado or somewhere Better than this…
He was a light sleeper as is— unless, of course, it was after a tour or show, or a long night in general— so the pounding of rain wasn't helping. Staring at the ceiling in an oversized t-shirt(Which, no, he definitely DID NOT steal from Dazai) and shorts with his weighted blanket thrown over himself.
He had been staring at the ceiling for a long time now and was beginning to think he heard knocking from somewhere. Weird, though, because Dazai was still out drinking with the band last time he checked. Yosano was definitely going to be spamming Chuuya tomorrow about why he hadn't been out with them.
Chuuya closed his eyes for a moment before he violently sat up as quickly as he could with his eyes snapped open. As he felt the house shake, he heard quite a few things shake and rattle around. Chuuya loudly groaned and slapped both of his hands to his face.
"Dammit!" He really was not going to get any sleep in this weather.
Chuuya threw his blanket off, climbed out of bed, and threw his bedroom door open. Reluctantly, he walked a bit down the hall to Dazai's door. He pushed it open a bit, peaking inside despite knowing Dazai wasn't home yet.
As if on queue, Chuuya heard a loud knock from the front door. this time he could tell it was a knock and not just the rain. He swore he could summon Dazai with his mind just by thinking of his existence.
Quickly exiting Dazai's room, he sped walked down the hallway and to the front door. Chuuya looked through the peephole, just for confirmation, while unlocking the door. However, he stopped when he saw their lead singer, Dazai, and their pianist, Yosano, clinging to their bassist like he was going to leave the band. To be fair, Kunikida did look pretty pissed about something.
Atsushi and Akutagawa were arguing in the back behind the 3, and Chuuya swore he saw red hair directly below the peephole. He groaned quietly and opened the door for them, to which Tachihara fell over onto the doormat.
"Hello, Chuuya." Kunikida greeted him.
"Hey, guys. Why are you all here? Kunikida, don't you usually drive all of them home?" Chuuya stepped to the side for them to come in, to which Kunikida threw Dazai at him, and dragged the rest of the band inside.
"These Idiots," in reference to Yosano and Dazai, "Convinced me to have a few drinks. I wasn't going to risk an accident, so we walked here."
Chuuya blinked a few times in surprise, grabbing a hold of Dazai so he didn't fall onto the floor. Chuuya stood the brunet up and closed the door behind Atsushi, clicking the lock into place once he did so.
God, he was going to have a mess to clean up later.
Chuuya dragged Dazai, following Kunikida, who had gone to the living room. Chuuya sat Dazai next to Yosano on the couch, despite complaining about how they were soaking it. Chuuya went down the hall to the closet, grabbing a change of clothes for all the members (except Dazai, of course).
Walking back into the living room, he was met with Dazai groaning loudly and Kunikida telling him to 'shut the hell up'. Chuuya handed each member a change, and told them to go change so he didn't have to clean up more water later.
After all the members had changed, Yosano almost barely dressed when she came out, only to be yelled at by Kunikida to fix it. Dazai was clinging to Chuuya on the couch while the pair was shoved up against the armrest by Akutagawa trying to get as far away from Atsushi as possible while still being on the couch.
Tachihara had passed out on the floor in the dining room, Yosano was laying on the ottoman falling asleep, and Kunikida was watching TV from the recliner next to the couch.
"OH MY GOD, AKUTAGAWA, STOP PUSHING, I DON'T WANT THIS MACKEREL ON ME MORE."
"NO, TELL HIM TO SIT ON THE FLOOR." Akutagawa Retorted, pointing at Atsushi.
"YOU SIT ON THE FLOOR, DAMMIT."
"AHhh!!! Doggie, stop yelling, you're hurting my earss~!!!" Dazai interrupted the argument between Akutagawa and Chuuya, only hugging the later tighter when he continued to struggle in his grip.
"Dammit, llcyou shitty waste of bandages, get the hell off me!" Chuuya struggled harder only to have the previously mentioned waste of bandages bury his head in Chuuya's hair.
Akutagawa reluctantly moved to the floor, also not wanting to be near the duo who were almost wrestling on the couch. Being tired of being kicked, Atsushi followed in moving off of the couch, leaving Dazai and Chuuya on the couch alone.
Yosano had long since fallen asleep, and the annoyed redhead had stopped struggling. Dazai had fallen asleep soon after the struggle stopped, still somehow tightly holding onto Chuuya. Kunikida was on the edge of sleep, and Chuuya had his phone held above Dazai's neck and head. He had seen Akutagawa and Atsushi Watching a dumb show they both liked last time he looked over, but since then the small talk about the show had died down and the two were quiet.
Chuuya had, at some point, let his eyes close and his arms relax to rest on Dazai's back; eventually falling asleep at around 4 o'clock.
--
Chuuya was awoken once at around 5 to being repositioned by Dazai so that he (Dazai) had his back pressed to the back of the couch. Their position was with Dazai's head In Chuuya's chest, with his arms around the shorter man's back. Chuuya had one of his legs around Dazai's torso with one hand below Dazai's head and the other around his neck.
Quickly, he had fallen back asleep. After what seemed like only a few seconds, Chuuya felt the darkness that had just surrounded him slowly peel back.
"Chibi..~" A sing-song voice whispered in his ear. Chuuya groaned quietly and curled a little more around the other, to which Dazai chuckled a bit.
"Chuuuyaa~, come onn!! It's 11, I can't sleep anymore.."
Chuuya breathed out a "fuck you," only to ignore Dazai who was now complaining, although quietly, about Chuuya being a meanie or calling him a bad dog. Dispite all his complaints, he never moved or even struggled.
Eventually Chuuya had woken up more and let Dazai get up to go get medicine from the bathroom cabinet for his massive headache. Once he had returned, Chuuya was staring at his phone, which was plugged in, curled in the fetal position with a pillow in his arms.
Dazai had walked by the ottoman, Yosano still passed out on it, and sat down on the opposite end of the couch from Chuuya.
" 'Zai.." The mumbled half of Dazai's name came from his partner. The brunet looked over, a grin plastered on his face.
"Yes, Chuuya?"
"Is Tachihara still passed out in the dining room?" Chuuya shifted his gaze to Dazai, seeing a dumb grin on his face.
"Yup! For our backup artist he's not much backup…" Dazai lifted a hand to his chin in mock thought.
"I swear to God, I'm gonna throw you across the room."
"You can sure try, Chibi!! I'm not sure you could even lift me though, so I'd like to see you try!"
"What the fuck is that suppose to mean!?"
"You're a small little chibi, you couldn't lift me if you tried!"
"HAH!? I could too!"
"Nuh uh uhhhh!~"
"Daz—" Chuuya managed to growl out half of Dazai's name before being interrupted.
"Shut up, you two! You know how Tachihara gets when you two wake him up with your arguing." Yosano interrupted the duo, smacking Chuuya's phone out of his hand, to which Chuuya recoiled immediately.
"Whoops! Sorry Yosano! I wonder when Atsushi and Akutagawa will wake up.." Dazai eyed the mentioned pair from the corner of his vision. Chuuya and Yosano looked over in sync, to find Atsushi leaning his head on Akutagawa's shoulder.
"Uh huh.. anyway, you guys want something to eat? I don't mind making breakfast or something."
"Your cooking is always the best Chuuya, but I'm not too—" Yosano cut herself off with a hiss of pain, then moved a hand to her forehead, rubbing it. "God, I need some Tylenol.."
