Chapter 1: Prologue
Notes:
Hi! This is me from 2025!
This is a new chapter, despite being chapter 1, since I have been giving this fic a little rewrite and a few minimal changes to make it better. I love the way I wrote it previously, but I realised there was some things I could add to make it better, hence this new prologue. The changes throughout the rest of the fic are very minimal, the only thing really changes is some wording and the fact that Draco doesn’t live at the hotel anymore and lives in an apartment of his own in the city.
Anyway, that’s all, hope you enjoy this new prologue.

Chapter Text
Prologue ( Post Episode 1/Pre Episode 2)
Prince Draconis Morningstar, the youngest child of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar, younger brother to Charlie Morningstar, sighed tiredly, tapping his black claws on the rounded meeting table, as he stared across it towards the battleground that was happening there. .
His Uncle Mammon, ‘Uncle Mam’, and Uncle Asmodeus,’Uncle Ozzie’, were at each other's throats as usual, moments from a brawl with Aunt Beezlebub, ‘Aunt Bee’, hovering between them trying to force them apart. Uncle Satan ‘Uncle Tan’ looking like he’d rather be anywhere else with Aunt Leviathan, ‘Aunt Levi’, egging the two fight uncles on, and Aunt Belphegor, ‘Aunt Bel’, sleeping away oblivious to all of it.
He should of known when he woke up this morning that his day was going to be shit. They had barely even managed to get through one agenda before it dissolved into this. He loved his Uncles and Aunts dearly, but they were too much for so early in the morning, leeching on his already low energy.
He couldn’t believe he was saying this, but he’d almost rather be at the yearly extermination meeting with Adam that he was supposed to be at, where he’d usually be on this day every year.
He pulled out his phone, deciding if the meeting was now paused, he could get some work done until Uncle Mam and Uncle Ozzie were done with their tiff.
That idea was thwarted by an notification from the 666 News app that quickly got his attention.
Breaking News: Extermination Date Moved up by SIX MONTHS!! {“Click here to watch the full new report now!’’}
What the Fuck?!
He clicked on the link and was sent to a clip of Katie Killjoy and Tom Trench delivering the news. For a moment he’d hoped it was just some hoax, but hearing Katie say that the news came from Heaven’s Embassy itself, that hoped quickly died.
He stared down at his phone in disbelief before he quickly jumped up from his seat and began to frantically speed-walk towards the door to the meeting room. He had to call Dad now to figure out how this even had happened.
His sudden movement caught the attention of his Aunt’s and Uncle’s, even Uncle Mammon and Uncle Asmodeus who had stopped fighting.
“Draco? Where are you going Kiddo?” Aunt Bee asked curiously.
“Yeah Kid, you don’t look so good, are you okay?” Uncle Ozzie asked, sounding worried.
He plastered on a fake smile, so to not worry them. “I-I’m fine. I’ve just got…something I need to quickly t-take care of. I won’t be a minute.” He replied before heading out of the room and down the hall.
“Shit shit shit shit.” He muttered under his breath, running his finger nervously through his blonde hair. Could this day get any worse? “O-Okay Ooookay. Deep breaths.”
He quickly dialled Dad’s number before lifting it to his ear, listening to the dull call tone.
Pick up, please pick up.
Dad answered the call on the final ring. “Heeeeey DrakeyDragon. What’s uuup?”
A small smile curled onto his black lips, through his panic, at his Dad’s awkward opener. Dad had never good at starting phone calls. The smile though didn’t last as the urgency took over again.
“H-Hey Dad.” He paused. How was he going to ask this? Should he ask outright or maybe just toe the line at first. “How did the meeting go?”
There was silence for a few moments. “The meeting?” He heard him mutter. “Oh! The meeting. Oh yeah, I sent Charlie in my place so I’m not sure.” Dad trailed off.
His heart sank. He sent Charlie instead?
That explained it.
Don’t get him wrong, he loved his older sister more than anything. But for someone older than him she was terribly naive. It would be just like Adam to take advantage of that.
He definitely should of gone to the meeting.
He leaned back against the hallway wall, whacking his head against it as he did, but not paying it any mind, the pain almost making his mind a little clearer.
“..O-Oh right, okay Dad-.” He tried to keep his worry out of his voice as his Dad didn’t deserve that. “-just checking in. I’ve got to go now, love you.”
“Okay! Love you too Kiddo!-” He didn’t even let him finish before he ended the call.
He needed to see Charlie now.
He didn’t bother to head back to the Sin meeting, though sending a quick text to Aunt Bee that he wouldn’t be coming back as he had something urgent to take care of and to fill him in later, before he headed to Charlie’s hotel.
The journey was a blur as he practically ran there, the fastest he’d ever ran in his life, his lungs heaving with the effort.
He huffed and puffed, hunching over and leaning on his knees to catch his breath for a minute once he got there, before knocking on the door.
The answer was immediate, the door swinging open to reveal Charlie there, bouncing on her toes, grinning widely. “Hello, and welcome to the Hazbin Hotel-.” She began a spiel that he was sure she’d rehearsed for greeting new guests, when her eyes widened as she looked down and noticed him. Her smile are even wider if that was possible at seeing it was him. “Drake! It’s you! You’re here!” She beamed, sounding excited. “Come in come in!”
He was dragged inside, barely managing to even say “Hello.”
They stopped in a seating area, where an array of people sat, some familiar, some not so, who looked towards them as they came over. “Let me introduce you to everyone! Everyone, this is Draco Morningstar, my younger brother. Drake, this is Angel Dust, the hotel’s first resident, Husk, our bartender, Niffty, our maid, Alastor, my business partner and you already know Vaggie.” Charlie swept her arm to every person in turn.
He gave only nod and a quick smile in acknowledgment to each person, eyes lingering for a split second on Alastor before moving on. Being polite wasn’t his priority right now.
“Charlie, as much as I’d love to get to know your new friends right now, I need to talk to you urgently about you meeting with Adam.”
Charlie’s excitement drained instantly replaced by a grimace. “Oh, you saw…?"
“I think the whole of Hell has seen it Toots.” The pink furred spider, Angel, snarked, then quickly wincing as Vaggie slapped his arm with a scowl on her face. “Ow.”
He nodded at his older sister. “I did.” He confirmed. “What happened in there Charlie? How did this come about?”
How did a regular meeting become having an earlier extermination date?
“Well…” She trailed off before sighing. “Let’s sit down and I’ll tell you everything.”
Charlie sat in the empty seat next to Vaggie, and he slipped in the empty space between Angel Dust and Husk on the couch across from her, and then Charlie dived into the story of that morning.
15 minutes later, he was sat there seething, not at Charlie since it wasn’t her fault, but at Adam. How dare he treat her like that?
He began to rise from his seat with the intent on going to the Heaven’s Embassy to give the angel a piece of his mind. “That bastard, I’m gonna-.”
“No!” He was interrupted and his standing was stopped by hands quickly grasping his. It was Charlie, now crouched in front of him, having practically dived towards him, giving him a pleading look. “Don’t.”
What?
He gave her a confused look in return. “But Charlie I’ve got to go and sort this out.” He tried to explain.
Charlie shook her head, making him feel even more confused. “No. This is my mess. I screwed up and now it’s up to me to deal with the consequences, not you.”
“But it wasn’t you fault!” He argued. “Adam, he-.”
“But it is Draco.” She disagreed fervently, cutting him off again, in a way only an older sister could. “I underestimated Adam and now I am paying for it. But that doesn’t mean all is hopeless, there is still 6 months until the next extermination, that gives me 6 months to do something here and help stop the exterminations permanently.”
He slowly sat back down, the wind blowing out of his sails. “But is 6 months enough time? No-one has ever redeemed someone before. Can you really do this is such a short time frame?”
Not that he didn’t believe in her, of course he did, she was his sister, but 6 months wasn’t that long.
Charlie grimaced. “Yes, no….maybe.” She flip flopped between answers, sounding unsure, before forcing an optimistic smile on her lips. “But hey, some say you work better with a time limit right?”
No really, but he didn’t say that and just nodded slowly with a sigh. “Okay Charlie.” He gave her a small smile. “I believe in you.”
Her smile became more real, softer, at his words, and pulled him into a hug, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “Thank you.”
He hugged her back earnestly, resting his cheek against her head, already feeling a little better about the situation.
Now all he hoped was that she could actually do it.

Chapter 2
Summary:
Informed on the meeting in Heaven, Draco is pissed.
Notes:
Old Notes 2/02/24: (Another fic. Don’t worry, I will finish my others in due time.
This was started before Episode’s 7 & 8 released. This fic will not be canon to those, though I might steal some elements of them.
Spoilers: Watched Episode 7 & 8 today and loved them. Though was sobbing as episode 7 began because I was spoiled by someone on Insta that Sir Pentious dies and every scene he was in made me tear up because of that. Until I learned, he isn’t actually dead!! Thanks for the trauma whoever you were!! I actually thought they were gonna kill him off!
I’m actually kind of sad that Adam is dead (or at least as far as we know). Yes he was an absolute dick, but he was kind of a lovable dick (or is that just me?). I really liked his character and thought he was really interesting. And his human form? He’s fucking hot! And thats saying something because I thought he was already hot with the mask. I really hope the they aren’t done with him and bring him back as a demon as I’ve seen some people say. Since Pent was killed by angelic weapons and became an angel, I think it would be cool to see Adam become a demon, the one thing he hates.
Another things: What the fuck Lilith?! Your ex-husband and daughter are fighting a war and you are lounging on the beach? Fuck you bitch!
Anyway,
Enjoy!)

Chapter Text
5 Months Later
Draconis Morningstar strode with purpose to Heaven’s Embassy like a man on the mission. His eyes white narrowed and his lips in a firm pressed together, anger rolling of his body, strong enough that people moved out of his way for him.
He’d simply had enough. It was a month until the extermination and everything was going to shit.
In fact, it had been going to shit ever since the announcement of the moving up of the extermination 5 months ago.
And it was all his fault.
Well not really, but at the same time he felt like it was.
Because he felt like this only happened because he wasn’t there.
He knew what Adam was like. He’d dealt with the angel for years in meetings when Dad didn’t want to go and then eventually passed the duty onto him fully. He’d taken up a lot of duties after Mom and Dad’s split and Mom’ disappearance, in the steed of his dad who’d fallen into depression.
The duties had been split between him and Charlie, but Charlie had other dreams other than keeping Hell running, like her hotel redemption idea, so he’d chosen to pick up the slack, despite being the younger sibling, so she could pursue it.
He didn’t mind it all that much. He was a good negotiator, he got things done, he took no shit from anyone, he was a good planner, good at problem solving and networking. For the last decade, Hell had ran smoothly under his hand, though not that most of Hell knew it, attending meetings and keeping everything going perfectly in Pride and the other rings.
Everything was perfect.
Until it wasn’t and it was his fault.
After all, if he hadn’t been busy that day with another meeting and would have gone to the meeting with Adam, he was sure that none of this would have never happened.
Not that he blamed Charlie. He would never blame Charlie. But she was naive. She was too kind. She didn’t know how to handle someone like Adam like he did. He would of never let Adam slip this by.
He blamed himself for all of this, which is why he was going to step up to fix it. He knew he should have done this earlier, but Charlie had assured him that she had it under control. But after what had happened in Heaven, he couldn’t just stand by anymore.
Something had to be done. And it hurt him to see Charlie in this state.
She had been inconsolable since the meeting in Heaven, a mixture of having her dream crushed in front of her, and finding out her girlfriend had been an exorcist, but mostly the former.
Despite it all though, he believed that she could do it, despite what Heaven said. He wasn’t sure if it was older sister admiration or because he truly believed it. Thats why he was going to buy her some more time.
He jogged up the golden staircase and slammed open the Embassy’s front doors with a bang. He slicked his blonde hair back before he strode towards the meeting room. “Adam!” His shout echoed through the Embassy. “Where are you you fucker!”
He thrusted open the doors to an empty room. “ADAM!!”
In the ceiling above Adam's golden chair appeared a golden portal and out of it swooped Adam, wearing his usual shit-eating grin.
“Drakey! Long time no see babe.” Adam grinned, landing in his seat. He pressed his fingers together, elbows on the table. “You called~”
His eyes narrowed. “Fuck you Adam.”
“You wish babe.” Adam winked.
He snarled, his demon form slipping in for a few moments, black claws growing on his fingers and digging into the table, his eyes glowing white and black horns growing ow his head. Usually he could put up with Adam’s shit. But he was not having it today. “Enough of your shit Adam. We need to talk.”
“Sure, anything for you babe.” Adam lazed back in his seat and flicked his wrist dismissively. “Go on, I’ve got things to do today.”
Dick Head. He swore in is mind, but held his tongue this time.“The extermination. Change it back to its original date.”
“AAAAAnd why would I do that?” Adam chuckled and tilted his head.
“What does pushing the date of the extermination forward do?” He shot.
“What does pushing the date back its original spot do?” Adam shot back.
He huffed. “What do you not have a life outside of killing innocent lives?” He asked sarcastically, though he already knew better.
Adam quaffed, slapping the table with a thump.“Innocent lives? Ha ha fucking hilarious and yeah I do, I told you I have important shit to do today.”
He raised a brow. “Oh yeah, like what?”
“I-ah-Like I said important things.” Adam fumbled.
He smirked, which widened as Adam glared at him. He rolled his eyes. “Sure.” He said blandly. “Brunette or blonde this time?”
“Blonde.”
“Course, you’d think you had a thing for blondes. Since its all you seem to fuck. What still can’t get over Mom and Eve?”
Adam’s eyes snapped to him and he snarled. “Fuck you Draco.”
“You wish babe~” He echoed back earlier words with a smirk.
Adam rose in his seat, and he mirrored him. They glared silently at one another.
“It won’t work, your Sis’ idea. Heaven’s already proven it. You’re just wasting your time. I know you’re trying to buy time for her.” Adam said lowly.
“And you are wasting yours trying to convince me. I know what I’m doing.” He said confidently.
Adam tilted his head and gave him a look he couldn’t decipher, before he sat down. He did the same.
“Alright, how about we make a deal?” Adam began, a small smirk sliding his face. “ I push the extermination back to its original slot, six months from now. And you..you will be mine for the next 6 months. Sound good?”
He raised a brow. “A deal? Thats not very heavenly is it? And be yours? Why?” What did that mean? What changed his mind?
Adam’s grin widened. “Well I need something entertaining to get me through the next six months until the fucking extermination if I push it back and having you, under my thumb will be most entertaining.”
His eyes narrowed and teeth pressed. That fucking dick! Why would he even think of agreeing to this? Being Adam’s? Fuck no!..But this was for Charlie. For all of Hell. If he did this, he could give Charlie the time she needed. “What does that entail?” He questioned.
“Well..you belong to me for 6 months. Quite fucking simple really. You do as I say. You come when I call. Simple.”
“So like a slave?” His face was unimpressed. "You do realise who I am right?”
“Of course I do. Luci’s and Lili’s second spawn. Like one wasn’t already enough. However unlike your annoying, prissy fucking sister, I actually don’t quite hate you.”
“Keep my sister out of your mouth.” He hissed, his demon form flaring again. “You insult her again and I’ll-.”
“You’ll what?” Adam chuckled. “I’m the one who holds the cards here bub. You know I can take back my deal and send you on your way and in a month, your precious hotel will be rubble.”
His glare deepened but he forced himself to take a breath. He’d heard much worse said about his sister, but hearing it out of Adam’s mouth infuriated him.
“No. I’ll take the deal, if you let me add some conditions.”
Adam groaned. “Ugh, sometimes I really hate you. You’re so fucking boring. Conditions smishions. Fine, lay em on me.” He lazed back in his chair again and flicked his hand, whilst admiring the other hand casually, not looking at him.
He held up a finger. “One, you will not make me hurt anyone, no sinner, no hellborn, No-one.” He said firmly.
“Boring, but Done.” Adam agreed, he rubbed his nails on his cloak, still not looking at him.
“Two, you won’t make me do anything to ruin or hurt the Hotel. That means no spying or relaying information to you.”
Adam’s head snapped up. “You Fucker.” Seems like he’d caught him. Ha, fuck you Adam. Nice try, but you won’t be getting the spy you wanted.
His lips quirked at the corner. “Those are my conditions Adam.”
“Wait thats it?” He looked a mixture of confused and amused. “You really have no self-preservation do ya? You know that gives me almost free rain?”
“My people and family are the most important thing to me. What happens to me doesn’t matter so long as I can protect them.”
“Urgh, you loyal types. Fine, I accept your fucking conditions.” Adam grinned wickedly. “I’m gonna have so much fucking fun with you babe.”
He was already beginning to regret this, but it was to late to turn back now. He’d gained Charlie time and that would be worth it.
“Then its a deal then? You push back the extermination to the original date and I am yours for the next 6 months including my conditions?” He confirmed.
Adam nodded. “Fine by me. You?"
“Agreed. Deal?” He held out his hand.
Adam flapped his wings and swooped to land in front of him on the table. He held out his hand, grinning down at him. “Deal.”
Their hands hands clasped and with a flash of golden light and golden cuffs appearing for a plot second on their wrists before fading. The deal was done and made.
They let go.
“Get ready Draco, because I am going to make these next 6 months the worst in your whole fucking life.” Adam chuckled.
“Bring it on.”
———
He walked back to the hotel feeling a mixture of accomplished and terrified. He’d done what he’d set out to do, but at what cost? He’d practically sold himself to Adam for six months. How would he even survive?
He pushed the door to the hotel open and found every eye on him as he entered, even Charlie was up and about now.
“You guys okay?”
“Drake!” He was pulled into a tight hug. “Where did you go? Al said you left earlier looking mad and I was worried. Are you okay?” She pulled away, her hands resting on his shoulders as she looked him up and down as if looking for injuries.
“I went to speak with Adam.” He revealed.
Her eyes snapped up to his. “You what?”
“Sooo…what did he say?” Angel spoke up from the bar.
He looked at the group who were standing and waiting for his answer. Looking at them all, he knew right there, that he’d made the right decision. “He’s moving the extermination back to its original date, six months from now.”
Silence dragged as eyes widened and mouths gaped. He waited for a response.
Then Charlie shrieked before he was tackled to the floor. “Thank You! Thank You! Thank you!-” Charlie lifted him off his feet and squeezed him tight. “-Thank You! Thank You! Thank You-!!!
He gave a breathy laugh and hugged her back. “Its okay. Its no problem for my Big Sis.”
“But how did you do it?” He heard Vaggie say from the side in disbelief.
At that, Charlie’s hug loosen and he was placed back on the ground as she pulled away. “Yeah Drake, how did you do it?” Her wide eyes looked at him, looking worried.
For a split second he met Alastor’s knowing eyes over Charlie’s shoulder, where he’d appeared then others glowing dial eyes quickly falling to the wrist where his invisible golden cuff sat.
Alastor knew what he’d done.
He just hoped he wouldn’t say anything.
His eyes snapped back to Charlie and put on his best smile. “Give me some credit Char, I’ve been dealing with that fucker for years. You’d think I’d know how to deal with him by now.”
Charlie smiled, beaming and happy again. He hoped nothing would ever take away the innocence in her eyes. She grabbed his hands and squeezed them tight. “Well thank you. Because of you, we have more time to do this. Thank you so much Draco.”
His smile became more real and soft. “Anything for you Sis.”
Definitely worth it.

Chapter Text
7 Years ago. A few months after Lilith’s disappearance.
He tried to stay composed as he walked to Heaven’s Embassy, but inside he was terrified.
He wasn’t sure how it had quite come to this, but he was going to be having a meeting Adam, The First Man.
That morning Dad had called him asking him attend the meeting in his steed.
He didn’t think he was quite the proper person to replace him in this case. Sure he’d attended a lot of meetings for his Dad in the last few months as well as picking up the slack for the ones his mom was missing too, but one with Heaven? Was he capable enough? What if he messed up?
But Dad has asked, and he couldn’t just say no could he? Since Mom disappeared out of nowhere a few months ago he’d been for better word, bad. He’d never seen his Dad like this or at least this bad. Him and Mom splitting hurt him, but Mom going missing, broke him.
He'd began isolating himself from everything, even him and Charlie. It didn’t affect Charlie as much because they were never close especially after the split and she was always more of a Mummy’s girl, but it affected him badly because he and Dad were close, because he'd was a Daddy’s boy and had been ever since he was young.
It hurt him to see his Dad like this and he tried everything to make it easier for him.
So when his Dad had called and asked him to do this, he hadn’t hesitated in agreeing. He could do this for him.
He stopped in front of the large golden doors, his journey to the Embassy ended and gulped.
Okay, this was it.
He pulled one of the heavy doors open and quickly slipped inside, the door slammed heavily shut behind him, the slam echoing through the large room he stepped into.
He slowly turned as he took a look around the room. It was really nice. Everything was so clean, bright and so..heavenly looking and so unlike Hell. It was so strange that something like this was even in Hell.
His heels clopped on the polished floors as he walked to the right door, the one that Dad had told him the meeting would be taking place in and noticed that the door was already open. He took a peek inside.
It was completely dark, like no-one was even there. Had he missed the meeting? Shit, he couldn’t have right?!
“H-Hello?” His voice slightly wavered as he stepped into the darkness. “Hello? I’m here for a meeting with Adam?” It was eerie walking into complete darkness with no idea what could be inside. Maybe he should find a light switch.
Suddenly the lights clicked on without warning and he stumbled backwards in surprise, catching himself against something, as a figure appeared at the end of a long baby blue oval table.
It was a person, or well it looked like one.
He let go of what he’d grabbed, which was the corner of the table and straightened, his eyes running up and down the person.
The person was tall, very tall, even whilst sitting. They had pure black skin and two golden eyes with no irises or pupils and on their head was two large black horns that curved backwards and were tipped gold at the ends. They wore a large baggy white robe with some grey designs on it, with golden enlarged sleeves. On their back sat two huge golden wings and above there their head floated a glowing halo.
The person looked confused as their eyes fell on him. “Who the fuck are you? Where’s good ol’ Luci?” They were male then. It was hard to tell with no obvious features.
If this guy was waiting for Lucifer, then this must be Adam, the angel who he was meeting with, The First Man. Huh, he didn’t look how he’d expected him to at all, or even sound like it either. He sounded like a rock singer or something with the slight growl and lowness to his voice.
Where was the angelicness? He would have mistaken the guy for a demon if it wasn’t for the wings and halo.
“Adam.” He bowed his head politely in greeting. “I am Draconis Morningstar but you can call me Draco, The second child of Lucifer and Lilith and Prince of Hell. I am attending this meeting in his steed today as he unfortunately could not attend.”
“Huh.” Adam raised a brow. “I didn’t even know they had a another fucking one.” He turned his head back to the exorcist angel, that he had just noticed, who was stood beside him. “Did you Lute?”
“No sir.” The exorcist angel, Lute, answered instantly, her tone cold. “I did not.”
Rude much. His expression soured slightly. “Well they did. Nice to meet you.” Keep being professional Drake.
“Nice to meet you too.” Adam reached out his hand. He reached out to take it and was met with nothing. Adam’s hand fizzled and turned pixelated for a second. A hologram.
“HAHAHAHA!!” Adam cackled, leaning back in his chair and holding his stomach. “I fucking got you!! HA, its been so fucking long since I could do that to someone!!” He continued cackling.
His expression soured further into a frown. “Ha ha.” He said in a monotone voice, fed up of this already. So Adam was one of those. This was seriously the First Man? A big man-child?
Any of the earlier fear he had for this meeting was gone and replaced with the need to get it over with as quick as possible.
He went and sat down at the far end of the table, the furthest away from Adam. He composed himself and set his hands in front of him on the table, his back straight. “So Adam..”
“Call me Dick Master.” Adam interrupted him, giving him a wink.
His brow rose in annoyance at being interrupted, but he didn’t let his annoyance show in any other way. “Adam, you called this meeting with my Dad. What did you need to discuss?” His tone was the epitome of professionalism, one he’d picked up in the recent months of multiple meetings.
“Heyyy. Slow down hot stuff.” Adam gave him shit-eating grin, leaning on his hands on the table. “Before we jump into all the boring stuff. Why don’t we get to know one another first? After all we just met right and I barely fucking knew you even existed. Its only polite right?”
He’d rather be doing anything else right then but against his better judgment, he agreed. “Of course. If thats what you want, lets start with that."
———
He severely regretted agreeing.
He’d heard more about vagina’s and Adam’s dick than he ever had in his life in the last..hour? 30 minutes? He didn’t even know. More than he’d ever wanted to know about vaginas as a gay man and more than what he’d ever wanted to know about the man in front of him. Was this guy compensating for something or what? He hadn’t had the chance to even say one word himself, so so much for getting to know one another. Fucking Hell, this guy could talk for fucking England.
He gritted as the word ‘vagina’ was brought up again. For fuck’s sake. Did this guy have an off switch or something? He was not about to sit and listen to this bullshit any longer or he was going to explode.
He stood. “Do you ever talk about anything else than fucking sex you fucking prick?!” He interrupted Adam’s most recent spiel. BANG!
Adam’s rambling stopped, his mouth open and paused, his golden eyes on him surprise like no-one had ever dare interrupt him before. Lute, the angel at his side’ eyes narrowed, looking ready to attack.
His chest heaved and he looked down with wide eyes to see cracks on the table, his fists in the middle of the cracks. Had he just slammed his fists down on the table? He noticed his long demon black claws had come out and were digging into palms, slightly drawing blood. Had he turned into his demon form also? It was then he noticed the new weight on his head and reached to touch it. His horns were out. Shit he fucking had!
He was surprised at himself, he hadn’t meant to do that at all. He’d meant to just simply mean to calmly get the guys attention and him to stop and get the meeting back on task. He hadn’t meant to shout. He hadn’t meant to slam his fists down on the table and break it. He hadn’t meant to transform into his demon form.
But he had. It was actually kind of scary. He’d lost control and all because of him.
He forced his demon form to retract and slowly and timidly sat back down in his seat, resting his hands in his lap, feeling a little afraid of himself.
Adam still was frozen in his place, his mouth still agape and eyes wide. It was actually quite off-putting because it looked so off to see on his face despite only meeting him that day.
Lute seemed to take Adam’s silence as a chance to step in. “How dare you say that to Adam. “ She snarled, an angelic spear appearing in her hand as she began to approach." I’ll-.”
“Hold that thought bitch.” Adam had come back to himself, holding up his hand to stop Lute in her place, but not looking at her, only at him, his eyes slightly narrowed.
“But sir-"
“Uh uh.” Adam waggled his finger, still not looking at her “Thanks for the back up danger tits, but I can handle this.” He said firmly.
Lute sent him a hateful glare before returning back where she had been standing.
Adam’s eyes looked him up and down before his lips slowly curled into a wide amused grin. “Oooh so cats got claws.” He chuckled lowly. He clicked his fingers and the cracks on the table disappeared like it had never happened. “Was wondering whether your parents temper was hereditary."
“I apologise for my unprofessionial behaviour.” He tried to keep his voice calm and professional. “But as much as I love hearing about you escapades. We need to get back on track. What is this meeting even about?”
“Oh that, uh nothing.” Adam waved his hand dismissively. "I just like scheduling these to mess with your pops and to brag about how many of his people I killed. Its always fucking hilarious to see his face. But since he’s not here, that plan has kinda fizzled.” He wiggled his fingers on ‘fizzled.’ “Just like ol’ Luci to fucking mess everything up.”
His lip pressed at the insult against his Dad, but he didn’t retaliate. His fingers dug into his palms.
“Of course. Then if my presence isn’t need, I will be going.” He stood from his chair, he gave a short bow of his head and began to walk towards the door.
“This was fun! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. See you next year babe!” Adam called from behind him. If he’d looked back he would have seen Adam grinning and wiggling his fingers in a wave like the smug asshole he is.
“See you next year Adam.” He said coldly. ‘Though I fucking hope not.’ He added internally.
The door of the room slammed behind him, leaving him alone.
He hoped that this would be the last time he saw Adam.
But it wasn’t the last time. He didn’t know it then, but it was the start of many, many meetings with the annoying prick.
Chapter 4
Summary:
Adam reminisces on his and Draco's past and starts making good on his end of the deal
Chapter Text
Draconis ‘Draco’ Morningstar was an enigma. One person Adam could not figure out for the life of him.
He hadn’t lied when they first met that he didn’t know he existed. It wasn’t even him being a dick because it was true. Fuck, he was pretty sure that all of Heaven hadn’t of known of his existence before he’d happened to fill them in.
The announcement of the birth of Charlotte Morningstar, Luci and Lili’s little bimbo blondie daughter, was a big fucking deal in Heaven, to his complete and utter dismay. For weeks it was all people talked about, the gossip of the kingdom, because despite being a Fallen Angel, Lucifer still technically had been a seraph and someone of that title and power having a kid was a big fucking deal.
It had grown old very very fast in his opinion. Having the news of the kid of his bitch of an ex and the asshole who she’d ran off with, shot his way almost every second of the fucking day. It was maddening. Especially being forced to send a ‘Congrats’ card as a sign of ‘good will’ by Sera.
He’d scribbled the lewdest thing he could think of at the time in the card and sent it on with no regrets. He wished some days that he could of seen Luci’s face when he’d opened it. He’d bet good money that it was fucking glorious.
But Draco? There’d been nothing. No announcement. No gossip. Nothing.
So when the unknown son of Luci and Lili walked through the doors of the meeting, he’d been for the first time in a long fucking time, completely caught off fucking guard.
Because he hadn’t expected it at all.
Draco was the perfect mixture of his parents. Lili’s sharp white eyes, her dark thick lashes and her black as night lips. Luci’s rosy cheeks that made him look like a clown, his sharp piranha-looking teeth, his short midget height. Was every male in that family so fucking short? He shared both of their blonde locks, that slicked back at the side and had a small black button nose, though he had no idea who that came from.
Draco was intriguing to say the least and very entertaining.
Because the guy hadn’t just managed to catch him off guard once. He’d managed it twice in their first meeting.
He’d never expected so much anger and raw power from such a fucking small package. Not with how meek and boring Draco had been acting before.
The way his eyes glowed pure white, black nails growing into long sharp black claws, black horns protruding from his hair and curling backward, not unlike the ones on his own helmet, the way his voice roared, the large crack forming on the marble table from where his fists had slammed.
He was a real spitfire and he’d looked really fucking shocked about to, like he’d never done that before.
He should have been angry at being spoken to in the way he had. With others he wouldn’t have even hesitated in making them fucking pay for treating him that way, not that many did anyway, because he was Adam! The First Man. The First Dick and how dare someone treat him like anything fucking less.
But with Draco, he hadn’t felt anger. Instead, he’d felt fascinated in a way he hadn’t before. He’d also felt amusement that he had been the one to bring this kind of reaction out of him.
With Luci, his antics were usually met with glares, scoff or snaps, which was amusing in itself.
But with Draco, it had been something new.
From that day on, it became his one and only goal in every meeting to mess with Draco as much as he could. To invoke that kind of reaction again.
And every time it never failed to bring a smile to his face.
The day after examination day quickly became his second favourite day, especially when Draco fully took over the meetings, because he’d get to see Draco every time. To see how much he could rile his up each time. To see his teeth grit and his eyes shine with anger. To see that spitfire in action over and over again.
It was made even better when through the last 7 years, Draco had completely shed his professional and extremely fucking boring persona that he tried to have and actually began to bite and snap back at every jab he gave.
It became less one-side and more like a game.
It was thrilling to have someone to keep up with him in a way that no-one but Lute ever had. To go back and forth with and be grinning all the while and trying to think how to one up it each time. Draco gave as good as he got and wasn’t afraid to hold back.
It was fun.
Which was why at the given opportunity, he snatched up that chance to do it more, even if it did push back his fucking favourite day of the years, real fucking downer but whatever. Because doing this once, maybe even twice a year?
It wasn’t enough, and there was only so many official meetings he could schedule and excuse to Sera before she got suspicious of their intent.
But now, he had that chance and even better, he owned Draco for 6 months and had almost free rain to do whatever he wanted with and to him. To mess with him as much as he wanted. And maybe to finally figure out him out and why he intrigued him so much
He couldn’t wait to get started and he was going to relish every fucking moment.
A grin slid onto his face as he scribbled another idea down onto his growing list dubbed ‘Adam’s list of how to fuck with Draco Morningstar’ which was filled with complied ideas for the next 6 months.
Oh, how he couldn’t fucking wait to see how Draco would react to that!
He twiddled his quill between his fingers, nails drumming on his desk as he tried to think of more.
Oh! That was a fucking good one! His tongue stuck out as he wrote out another idea that he’d thought of.
“Sir!” Lute burst in, slamming his office door open.
He jolted in fright, a thick black inky line running across his list. “Fucking Christ Lute!” He yelled in frustration. “Would it kill you to fucking knock?!”
“Sorry sir.” Though she didn’t sound sorry at all. Bitch.
“What do you want? I’m kind of busy here!” He gestured to his ruined list. Fuck he’d have to write it out again. Fuckkkkk.
“Sir, we need to start going over our training for the extermination. It is next month after all.” Lute stepped further into his office, resting her hand on her hip.
Oh right, the extermination. Shit. He’d better start making good on his side of the deal too. Well, best get it over and done with.
“About that..Lute, be a good little bitch and arrange a meeting with Sera for me later will ya?”
Lute rose a brow in confusion about what that had to do with what she’d said. “A meeting sir? What about?”
“…About how we are moving the extermination back to its original date.”
Chapter 5
Summary:
The hotel celebrates Draco’s success and Draco is confronted by Alastor
Chapter Text
Draco had only been apart of these band of misfits for a few months from taking part in Charlie’s activities but somehow they’d already managed to slot themselves into his heart.
Since his announcement about the extermination being pushed back, a party had broken out in celebration.
Drinks were passed out and the hotel was merry in a way it hadn’t been since before Charlie and Vaggie had gone to confront Heaven. With grins on everyones faces, drinks had been held high as he had been toasted for his success.
You’d think he’d gone and done some impossible and impressive feat with how everyone was acting and well he supposed he had kinda done what people considered impossible. He had convinced Adam to change his mind which he was sure many people had never done.
He smiled warmly as he watched everyone interact. Charlie and Vaggie, having managed to make up, were snuggled together and chatting away with Sir Pentious on one of the couches, Angel and Husk were talking, or rather flirting, a few seats down from him at the bar, and Alastor and Nifty were sat on the other free couch nursing their own drinks. Each person was the right amount of tipsy for such a celebration. Everyone was happy and that was just how he liked it.
He however, didn’t get involved in any of that and was content to just sit quietly and watch. Despite these misfits finding a place in his heart, he still barely knew them and he hadn’t found his place among them just yet. So he watched. Besides, parties hadn’t been his kind of scene in years, not since..
He let that though drop instantly before it could form.
He sipped at his third sweet cocktail that Husk had thrown together with the ease and skill of a true showman, the flirty taste mixed with the vodka hitting just right on his tastebuds as he’d taken his first sip. He decided right then and there that this would become his new favourite drink.
As the skies of Hell darkened, bringing in the night, the party still in swing. He decided to head to bed, for it had been a long day for him and he felt drained, unbeknownst to the others who had no idea exactly what the day had entailed. Ugh if he felt like this now, how much worse would the next 6 months be? His eyes snapped to Alastor for a moment, or rather no-one knew exactly what the day had entailed except for Alastor, though even he only knew the barest of details. But he knew he’d be confronted at some point about it.
He downed the rest of his drink and leaped off of his seat. He dusted himself off and sent Husk a nod and a smile, when the cat-demon had looked away from his conversation with Angel at his movement.
“I’m gonna head out.”
Husk nodded in acknowledgment back before turning back to Angel and continuing where he’d left off.
He headed towards the door, barely making it to the first step before being noticed by Charlie, who sat up from her snuggle.
“Hey Drake! Where are you going?!” He stopped in his tracks and turned back, seeing the way her brows slightly furrowed and the slight concern in her glazed eyes in what he called her worried big sister look.
Her call had every eyes on him.
“I’m heading home to bed. Its been a long day.” He smiled, assuring her that he was okay.
“Oh yeah I’d imagine. Dealing with that winged dickhead for hours.” Angel quipped, leaning his back against the bar.
The concern in Charlie’s instantly faded and was replaced by her usual smile and bright eyes that he’d began to miss in the last few days after Heaven had taken it from her. “Alright then. Night Drake.”
He smiled fondly. “Night Char.” His eyes spanned to the rest of the room, who’s eyes were still on him. “Night everyone.” He gave them a small wave.
“Night!” Chorused everyone else in union.
His smile widened and he turned and headed towards the door and began his walk home to his apartment. span class="Apple-converted-space">
20 minutes later, he walked through the front door of his apartment, transversing the long hallways until he stopped on his bedroom door. A golden dragon engraved symbol mounted on the door gifted by Charlie the day he moved in, which looked just like his baby.
He smiled in remembrance of the day she’d gifted it to him, the way his eyes had lit up and he’d gasped with such joy.
He opened his door and stepped inside into the darkness.
Eerie red glowing slitted eyes peeked out from under his black and red duvet, which stood out in the darkness.
He flipped on the switch and light flooded into his red themed room.
A grin slowly widened on his lips. “Hello?” He snickered softly. “Is there a scary monster hiding in my room waiting to scare me?” He walked slowly around his room.
He grabbed a jacket messily draped across his plush arm chair and ripped it up. “Ah ha!” Nothing. “She’s not under here.” He sung. He straightened and pressed a finger on his chin in thought. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see his duvet moving. His grin widened. “Oh where ever could she be?”
On cue, the red eyed monster pounced out from under the covers, hissing, a small pink forked tongue flicking.
“There she is! Hey Emmy baby.” He smiled in adoration at a baby slim, golden-scaled dragon with glowing red eyes, who’s slitted pupils grew in size at the sound of her daddy’s baby voice. He made his way over to her and crouched by his bed and reached to tickle her under the chin, who chest rumbled. “Daddy’s so sowy for leaving so quickly this morning baby. You’re such a good girl little girl aren’t you? Did’ya miss me?” His voice getting higher pitch as he cooed at her.
Ember flapped her little wings and threw herself in the air, doing a small lap around the room, before landing and curling her body and tail around his shoulders like a little snake, her small snout lifting up and nuzzling his cheek.
He chuckled. “Guess you did miss me huh?.” He turned pressed a small kiss on her scaled forehead and his smile widen at the little content puff her nostrils made. “Good girl.”
He began to slowly undress, being careful to not knock Ember off his shoulders all the while who had dropped off to sleep making little hissy snores in his ear, and changed into his pyjamas. A black set of a short sleeve and long bottoms, the top having the outline of dragon in the middle, in gold stitching, on the front with its wings spanned out wide, and the bottoms having small golden scales dotted randomly.
He quickly did his nightly routine before climbing into bed and grabbing his nightly paperwork off his desk, the thick and heavy pile resting on his lap.
He had only managed to read one line before a dark shadowy mass began to form in the corner of his room, a familiar static getting louder and louder and the mass contorted.
Of course Alastor would choose now to confront him. Prick. How did he even get in here and know where he lived? Did he follow him home?
Ember’s little head rose with bleary eyes at the sudden noise. He noticed and reached up, giving her a little scratch. “Its okay baby. Go back to sleep. Its just Alastor.” He whispered softly.
She listened and curled back into her position and went back to sleep.
He plastered on a smile, putting down his pen, as Alastor appeared. “Alastor, how can I help you?”
Alastors head tilted as he perched on the side of his bed, his grin widening. “I think you know exactly how don’t you Draco.”
He nodded. “I do. Couldn’t this wait till morning though? You know it is terribly impolite to burst into someone’s room, let alone apartment, without knocking in the middle of the night.”
“Of course.” Alastor acknowledged. “But I think its at the upmost importance that we talk now.”
He sighed, his smile falling a little. “Right, so you know then?” He knew that already, but how else would they start this conversation.
“I do.” Alastor confirmed. “ I don’t think Charlie would be happy to learn that her younger brother made a deal with an angel, do you?”
“She wouldn’t.” He agreed. In fact she would be furious. “Which is why you aren’t going to tell her, are you Al?”
“And why shouldn’t I?” Alastor chuckled, eyes filled with amusement at his counter. “Why shan’t I go right now and fill Charlie in?”
He still hadn’t managed to figure out what Alastor’s edge was even after months, all he knew was that whatever it was had to do with the need for the hotel to succeed, supported by everything he'd had done to keep it running and safe. But why? He couldn’t figure that out. Why would Alastor ever want a hotel to redeem sinners to be succeed? Whatever it was, he was sure it wasn’t for good reasons or for care of the hotel.
However, in this moment, he chose to use that to his advantage. “Because what I’m doing benefits the hotel. It benefits her and it benefits you. This deal ensures that the hotel stays standing for another 6 months which means your little investment in the hotel won’t just be shattered so soon and Charlie’s dream won’t be broken and will be more likely to succeed.”
Alastor was silent for a moment, the static of his staff being the only sound. “I see, and I suppose you won’t be filling me in on your side of the deal then?”
“No I won’t. This deal and its contents will only known to me and the dealer alone.”
Alastor hummed. “I suppose so long as this deal doesn’t harm the hotel, I have no need to say anything.” Alastor conceded.
“It doesn’t and no you don’t.” He confirmed, a small smirk on his lips, seeing already that he’d won this round. “Good talk Alastor. If that is all..Good night.”
Alastor’s eyes narrowed and his smile tightened at being dismissed, but didn’t argue.
“Good night Draco.” He then slipped away into the shadows.
As soon as Alastor was gone, he let his smirk fall to be replaced by a tired frown. He really needed to up his protections on his apartment if they let that guy past.
He let out a sigh, the exhaustion of the day finally catching up with him. As much as he usually enjoyed some back and forth, today was too much. Though he continued to work into the early morning, until the words pages in front of his bled into one, his eyes heavy.
He blinked to clear his eyes but only felt them get heavier.
He realised quickly that he couldn’t continue to work like this. He supposed he could have an early night this once and finish it tomorrow.
So he moved the papers aside and shuffled himself to lay down, gently easing Ember of his shoulders and resting her on his chest as he laid down.
With a click of his fingers, the lights switched off, leaving the room in darkness. He let his eyes slip closed and drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 6
Summary:
Adam finally gets audience with Sera and Lute is not happy.
Chapter Text
Sera’s piercing eyes stared down at Adam. “And tell me again why we should push back the extermination date? Wasn’t it you who asked for permission to move it forward in the first place?”
It was a week later, the closest time he could get a meeting with Sera, who apparently was too fucking busy to make time for him.
He’d thought all the night before of how he was going to explain this to Sera and have it actually make any fucking sense. He’d spent so much time running his script over and over in his mind that he’d barely even slept, adding to the bags that already sat under his eyes, not like anyone ever saw them anyway because he never took off his mask.
He’d already ran Sera through it all once, but she still didn’t look convinced. Tough fucking crowd. He was fucking Adam, why wasn’t she listening to him?
“Because pushing it forward has done its job. Hell will know now that if they step out of line or try to rise up, we can just change the date to our will, whenever we want.” He repeated again, his tone starting to be frustrated at Sera not budging. “Its not like the extermination won’t be happening at all.”
He had to convince her or the deal would break. He couldn’t let that happen. The invisible golden cuff on his wrist tightened, digging into his wrist reminding him of what was at stake.
“You clearly have put a lot of thought into this.” Sera spoke after a few very long moments of thought, pressing her fingers together. “And I admit, I do see merit in the idea.”
He felt hope rise. Please fucking agree!
Sera hummed. “After some deliberation, I have chosen to accept your proposal Adam.” Though she didn’t look pleased about it at all. Strange since she’d been against the extermination in the beginning, but he didn’t put too much thought into it, because he’d fucking done it! “But any consequences that result from this decision will fall onto you.”
“Yeah yeah fine.” He waved his hand dismissively. He could take whatever was thrown at him. ”So thats definitely a yes?” He knew it was, but he just wanted to double check.
Sera sighed, her lips pressed tightly. “Yes Adam, that is a yes.”
Fuck yeah!
“Thanks Sera. I’m gonna bounce now, but..thanks.” He flapped his wings and swooped out of the office without another word.
“Sir!” Lute called after him, who’d apparently been lurking out in the hall like a stalker. Fuck, leave me the fuck alone Lute!, and was now chasing him down the hall. “I still don’t understand why!”
“I’ve told you already Lute a thousand times. Don’t make me fucking explain it again.” He ground out, annoyance seeping in, he was already feeling frustrated enough from going around circles with Sera for the last hour and he didn’t want to deal with this again too.
He flapped his wings and sped up.
After telling Lute to arrange the meeting with Sera, he’d been forced to explain why to fulfil her curiosity, though he only told her a more messy version of what he’d told Sera, which he’d managed to think up on the spot, and not the real reason. Nosy bitch, why should she even know? That then led to him getting a complete earful.
It wasn’t often when Lute would just blow up on him. But when she did..Fuck did she go for it. All fucking week. He swore he could still hear the faint ringing in his ears. Now she was going to fucking start it again. Urgghhhh!! Usually she took his word like the fucking gospel, why couldn’t she do the same this time? Why couldn’t she just accept that she wouldn’t be killing demon fucks for another 6 months?
Maybe because this time it included stopping her from getting even with good ol’ Vaggisaurus. Fucking Christ and he thought he was blood thirsty, but Lute..Lute was something else, especially towards Vaggie. Lute’s hate for that bitch ran deep, that he knew, and he totally got it because he could totally relate. He felt the same away about a certain blonde fallen angel with his smug too-wide fucking grin and his velvety, honey-laced words-
“Sir I just don’t understand.” Lute swoopped and blocked his way, interrupting his train of thought. “You love the exterminations, why are you pushing it back?”
He ground his teeth, wings flapping in place. “Lute. Just leave it. I already told you and made up my mind. Now get the fuck out of my way. Thats an order!” He was on his last nerve. Fuck, he hated it when people questioned him. Why did they have to? He was Adam and people had no fucking right to question him. Even if what everyone believed was a big fat fucking lie, but who needs to know that right?
Lute gritted her teeth, not looking at all happy, but nodded. “Yes sir.” She reluctantly moved out of his way, because at the end of the day, even if she was being a bitch, she was loyal and couldn’t ignore an order. He hoped that was the end of it now.
“Oh and I’m giving you the task to explain to the girls kay? Have fun bitch! Bye!” He flew away.
He could audibly hear Lute’s jaw click behind him as he flew off. He had a feeling that that would come back to bit him, but he didn’t care.
It didn’t matter anyway because he’d done what he set out to do. Now his side of the deal was done, the fun could begin.
A grin curled onto his lips replacing his annoyance at the thought of it. Just thinking of the next 6 month was making him feel giddy.
Oh he couldn’t fucking wait!
And he wouldn’t have to, because it would all begin tomorrow.
He hoped Draco was ready, because he would not be holding back.

Chapter Text
The next week had gone plain sailing with not even a word from Adam. Draco was starting to wonder if he had imagined the entire thing. But the invisible cuff on his wrist, the report on 666 News the day after, as well as the number of days until the extermination changing on the clock tower yesterday to 175 days, showed very differently.
He was now in Greed, sat in a meeting with his uncle Mammon, though it was turning out to more of a complaint session than a meeting, listening to his uncle rant away about one of his clowns, a jester imp called Fizzarolli, quitting a few weeks ago, and Uncle Ozzie who he blamed for it.
He knew all about the incident already first hand., because he had been there and Uncle Mammon already knew that. He was the one who had sent him tickets for his clown pageant every year after all.
He’d been going every year to the pageant since it first began years ago, on his rare nights off, sitting disguised in the crowd amongst the other hell-borns and imps because he enjoyed the atmosphere. Each year he watched Fizzarolli slaughter, not literally, the competition and supported the clown's success all the while.
Fizzarolli’s performance that night had been sensation, watching him say ‘fuck you!’ to his uncle in the most stylish and flashy way one could quit, feeling elated as he watched because in his opinion, it was very long overdue, and he was very happy that the imp had finally chosen to break away. Watching Uncle Ozzie finally tell all of Hell the truth about his and Fizzarolli’s relationship, something he’d known about years prior, was also very sweet and he was very happy for the couple. But Uncle Mammon hadn’t been happy, not in the slightest, he’d been furious. He’d already had to listen to his uncle’s whining about it the whole time when he’d been invited to grab dinner afterwards.
He’d met Fizzarolli personally many times, through Uncle Mammon, as well as through Uncle Ozzie from his visits to the Lust Palace through the years. They’d even met up themselves a few times, since the imp was basically his uncle and he wanted to get to know him properly. Thats how he knew exactly why Fizarrolli quit, and that Uncle Ozzie was barely to blame for it. That all fell onto Uncle Mammon. He’d been told about the behind the scenes and his uncles’s cruel treatment of Fizzarolli personally by the imp, that despite his authority, he hadn’t been able do anything to stop because even though he helped all of Hell run, his full jurisdiction only really counted in the Pride ring. He’d spoken to his uncle about his treatment of Fizzarolli many times, but he couldn’t personally force him to stop to his dismay.
But Mammon always liked to forget those details and paint himself as the victim, through everyone knew better. He’d always been that way as long as he’d known him. Its why almost every one of their family members disliked him, which for some was too kind of a word. Cough Uncle Ozzie cough.
He sighed in boredom, watching his uncle flay his hands around, as he ranted. Sadly for him, he was one of the people who didn’t completely hate his Uncle, despite him being a complete ass, and Mammon took advantage of that very often.
When he noticed Uncle Mammon’s tirade start to go around again, he decided to finally stick his foot in, otherwise he’d be there another hour. “Uncle, I’m not sure what you want me to do about this?”
His uncle looked him the eyes, sickly green glowing eyes staring down at him from his towering height. “I want you to get him back.
“You know that isn’t under my jurisdiction Uncle, nor my fathers. Fizzarolli wasn’t under contract with you and nothing binds him to you. If he decides to quit, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.”
“But I gave that little cunt everything! He would have been nothing without me! I made him who he is today! He doesn’t just get to walk away from me!” His uncle’s demon form flared for a split second in anger.
Maybe if Fizzarolli had have been treated better, he wouldn’t have walked away. But he didn’t tell his uncle that.
He just gave a falsely sympathetic smile and nodded. “Maybe you did. But that doesn’t change anything and you know it Uncle. Besides, its not like you’ve been left with nothing right? You still have those twins..uhh..-” His mind drew a blank. “-whatever their names are. They won the pageant right? So you already have a replacement ready to go.”
Uncle Mammon slammed his fists down on the table in anger, making the stuff on it rattle. He didn’t jump, used to this sort of behaviour from his uncle. “But they aren’t Fizzarolli! Do you know how much that fucking cunt made me?!”
More than Fizzarolli had ever seen, that he knew.
He nodded and reached across the desk, with some struggle, and rested his hand comfortingly on his uncle’s arm. “I know its frustrating Uncle, but maybe the twins will be even more successful? I mean their twins, two for the price of one? Everyone likes that sort of thing right?”
“Hmm..maybe.” Mammon muttered under his breath, seeing to take in his words. His uncle was quiet for a few moments, before a grin grew on his face. “You’re right!” Without warning he was pulled over his desk and gathered into his uncles arms, the air being squeezed out of him as he was crushed in a tight embrace. “You’re a bloody genius kid!”
“T-Thankyou U-Uncle.” He croaked out before he was dropped back in his seat wheezing. “G-Glad I could help.” He sucked in healthy gulps of oxygen.
“I know exactly what I’m going to do now!” His uncle cackled. "Twice the clowns! Twice the prices! I-.”
He listened to Uncle Mammon beginning to scheme new ideas, feeling vey glad he’d managed to help Fizzarolli out in someway. Hopefully he’d gotten any revenge plans out of his uncle’s mind for trying to get Fizzarolli back another way.
Over his uncle's scheming he heard another voice, a familiar voice, barely over a whisper, brush passed his ear.
“Draco.” Then pain thrummed in his wrist and made it way up his arm as his wrist was squeezed. He took his eyes off his uncle and spied the golden cuff on his wrist appearing for a split second, digging into his wrist.
Adam was calling him.
Fuck.
Speak of the devil, or angel on this case, and he shall appear. He supposed it was about time anyways.
“Uncle!” He interrupted his uncle with tight politeness. “As lovely as its been to see you, I have another meeting I need to get too.”
“You’re always so busy these days since your ol’ dad fell in the deep end. Do you ever take a break kid?” Uncle Mammon spoke with very rare concern for his nephew. This is why he couldn’t bring himself to hate his uncle. Usually he rarely cared about anyone but himself, another reason why he was disliked, but he always somehow broke that cycle for him and Charlie.
“I do, I promise. Just a busy day today is all.” He assured his uncle, with a smile, which strained as the cuff on his wrist tightened further. “Draco.” Adam’s voice was louder now in his ears sounding impatient.
Be fucking patient Adam, he griped internally.
“Well, don’t work yourself too hard, you hear?”
“I won’t.” He moved out from behind the table and gave his uncle a quick hug of his own, though he only reached his hips. “I better go, bye Uncle!”
He sent his uncle a smile and a wave before he ran off.
His whole journey back to Pride was filled with pain as the cuff dug into him tighter and tighter.
He sat on the elevator to Pride, gritting his teeth the whole time to prevent pained sounds escaping his throat, whilst also trying to blink back pained tears in his eyes.
He marched into Heaven’ Embassy 20 minutes later, his wrist feeling numb from lack of circulation and slammed open the meeting room door.
“You fucking impatient asshole!” He shouted as his eyes fell on Adam who smirked as his eyes fell on him.
“There you fucking are! Thought you weren’t coming.”
His eyes narrowed and against his will, the pained tears that he’d been holding back started dribbling down his cheeks. “I was in a meeting you prick! The world doesn’t just revolve around you, you know? I have responsibilities that I have to fill!”
Adam was unbothered by his anger, his smirk just widening. “Alright alright, no need to be a fucking crybaby about it. Chillax babe.”
He angrily wiped away the tears, feeling frustrated and embarrassed with his body for choosing now to release them. “T-Thats not the reason.” He hated the way his voice slightly wavered. “This fucking cuff-.” He gestured to the invisible cuff which had stopped squeezing. “-was digging into my wrist the whole way here! I can’t even feel it at the moment."
“Ohhh yeah. Sorry about that.” Adam apologised, though he didn’t look at all sorry, just smug.
His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t bother to try and get a real apology because he knew he wouldn’t get one. “Whatever.” He ground out. “I’m here now, so what do you want me to do?”
Adam chuckled. With a click of his fingers, a golden scroll appeared in his hands. Adam’s eyes snapped back and forth and he mumbled lowly under his breath as he read, until he stopped. “Oh. I know the perfect thing to start with.”
Adam lowered the scroll and he felt his heart sink at the look in Adam’s eyes and the grin that curled on his lips.
For not the first time, he wondered what he’d gotten himself into.
Chapter 8
Notes:
Another chapter! Sorry this took so long, this chapter was fighting me badly. I had to rewrite it multiple times as it just didn’t sit right. Hopefully this won’t happen again.
Also please if anyone has any ideas for ‘Adam’s How to fuck with Draco Morningstar list’ , please give me some (I’m begging) because I’m struggling with coming up with them.
Not anything sexual though, because spoilers, Adam is a dick, but he wouldn’t go that far. He’s more like a playground bully than anything.
Anyway, enjoy!
Chapter Text
“No. I won’t.”
Adam chuckled his grin widening. “You think you have any choice in this? The deal was you do as I say, and I say, get on your fucking knees and worship me. Unless you want to break our deal before its even started?”
This was his most favourite idea on his list, one he was sure to fuck with Draco the most. On those grounds, he probably should have left it till later, but he found the idea to good to wait on. He wasn’t regretting it at all, seeing Draco’s steely and defiant eyes as he glared up into his own smug gold digital eyes. The blonde’s lip curled into an offended snarl showing off his sharp pointed teeth. He wasn’t in demon form yet though, but he was sure that he would manage to push the man to that point.
Draco scoffed. “Don’t you get enough of that in Heaven? ‘Oh praise the first man, for he started it all.” The other’s tone was sarcastic as he stood for a moment and swept in to small mocking bow.
He watched a small cruel smirk curl onto Draco’s lips, happy with his small jab as he sat back down. His eyes narrowed, but he didn’t allow the remark to affect him.
He knew no matter how much Draco bitched about it that he would do as asked anyway. He also knew that when he’d cut this deal with Draco that the other wouldn’t go down easily. He was a Morningstar after all. Just as stubborn as his parents and sister.
Also, seeing Draco bow to him, even mockingly, already made his giddiness rise. He would have to make the other do that again, but properly later.
“Thats a good start, but you could lose the sarcasm babe.” He chuckled. “So are we going to fucking start this or are you going just going to keep bitching?”
Draco’s eyes narrowed. “Fine.”
“Great. Now come here.” He gestured with his finger to Draco.
He watched as Draco stood from the chair, pushing it back abruptly with a squeak from how aggressively he stood. He watched Draco walk until he was standing by his chair. It was always easy to notice Draco’s much smaller height, but being so close to one another, it really showed. even when he was sitting, he was taller than Draco.
He stood and watched the difference increase, now Draco had to crane his neck to look up at him, his tall height towering over the shorter man.
He was taller than most people he found, the only person he wasn’t was Sera, who towered completely over everyone, next to her, he looked like a fucking midget because she was like a fucking giant.
Though when he was a human, he had never been this tall. He was about maybe 6ft? Now he was about double that at around 12ft. It had taken a while to adjust to being taller than most of the angels, it had been awkward at first to have to look down on everyone and be the tallest in the room. It was still quite awkward, but he’d eventually embraced it. Because being the tallest had all eyes on you when you enter a room. Of course all eyes would be on the First Man anyway, but it made him important, more important, that almost everyone looked up to him, literally. It even made the most powerful angels be forced to look up to him, which was hell of a confidence booster.
But with Draco, it felt different. To have the son of the powerful Lucifer looking up to him, to be able to look down on the child of such a powerful being. It made him feel powerful. Especially because the blonde was so fucking tiny. It was almost fucking adorable! Looking up at him with his innocent eyes.
“Adam?”
He was snapped out of his thoughts by Draco, who he noticed was looking up at him, his head tilted in confusion and a little creeped out. Had he been staring whilst lost in his thoughts?
“..Right.” He was about to do his first idea, before he’d gotten distracted. His grin returned. “Well..? Aren’t you going to get on your knees then?”
The confusion faded and the defiance on Draco’s face returned. “Isn’t this sinful? Wanting to be worshiped by like God? Not very holy is it?”
“I’m not saying to worship me like a God am I? I’m saying to worship me as me. The First Man. Now be a good boy and fulfil your side of the fucking deal.”
“Well..?” He looked down at Draco with a smirk. “Go on then …” He waved his hand. “-kneel.”
Draco’s eyes narrowed and he slowly got onto his knees, holding his gaze the entire time, getting smaller in size, his head barely reaching his knees.
“Is this really necessary?” Draco sneered. “You do realise how fucking scandalous this looks right?”
What was Draco on about……oh. He hadn’t noticed before, but now that Draco mentioned it, it really did.
He felt his cheeks flushed under his mask. Draco was kneeling in front of him. It was like he was going to give him a…he wasn’t even going to finish that thought.
“T-Thats not what this is.” His voice stammered against his will. At Draco’s raised a brow, he felt anger churn. “Hey! Fuck you! Thats not what this is and you know it! I’m not a fucking poof.”
Draco’s eyes narrowed. “I know you’re not, just making an observation asshole. No need to get so defensive.” His tone was hard. “I wouldn’t ever blow you even if you paid me anyway.”
Hey! Not like he’d ever want that anyway, but low blow. Everyone wanted a piece of his dick. His dick was the best!
He got himself back under control. This was supposed to be about pissing of Draco, not getting annoyed himself. “W-We’re getting off track. You’re supposed to be worshipping me. Unless you want to be here all day?” He forced a smirk back on.
“Lets just get this over with.” Draco muttered. “Adam, you are the most awesome and most handsomest angel in all existence.” The praise was said in the most sickly sweet and somehow at the same time, the most sarcastic tone he’d ever heard, wearing the most fake smile he’d ever seen from the man. “You’re so smart, brave and strong, and every angel in Heaven just wishes they could be as incredible as you.” Draco then looked like he’d sucked a lemon as the smile dropped. “Is that good enough?”
“What did I say about the fucking sarcasm? And I know you don’t actually think that.”
Draco rolled his eyes and shrugged. “Hey! You never said they had to be true. What, not enough to stroke your huge ego?” He sneered.
He wouldn’t admit that it was nice. It had been a while since he’d had such praises. It was also strangely nice to hear from someone like Draco too, even if it wasn’t real.
“That’ll fucking do for now I suppose.” He decided. That would be as good as he was going to get today he knew. He’d angered Draco, watched him practically cry as soon as he’d walked in, made him kneel to him and embarrassed Draco completely.
He’d gotten what he wanted.
“Wasn’t so hard now was it? This would have been over sooner if you hadn’t been bitching so much.” He smirked.
Draco pulled himself, dusting off his knees of invisible dust. “You’re suck a dick.”
His smirk widened. “Proud to be. See you next time babe.”

Chapter Text
For the first time in a while, Draco had a whole free day. No meetings, no tasks or chores. Nothing. And he hadn’t been called by Adam for 4 days, so that was a bonus too Hopefully he’d get a few more Adam-free days.
Free days had been very few and far lately. Days which used to be spent resting and taking it easy, since being constantly busy all the time was not healthy at all, and despite being almost a workaholic and usually welcoming the hefty work, he did admit that he needed a break from time to time.
Since he had a rare completely free day, he decided to take part in one of Charlie’s activities. The way Charlie’s face lit up when he told her over video chat that morning when he said that he’d be attending made him feel all warm inside and realise that he’d made a good decision and it would also be nice to get to know everyone better too.
He leaned back against the plush pillows of the parlour’s couch as he and the other residents listened to Charlie to explain today’s activity, Husk and Angel on either side of him.
“-so the name of the game is to have three facts about yourself, two as truths and the other, as a lie. The rest of us will have to figure out which one of your three facts is in fact a lie. Super easy right?!” Charlie beamed in front of the group, a wide smile on her face, before she bounded over to the a free seat, next to Vaggie of course, plopped down, bouncing in her place like a kid who had eaten way to much sugar. “So..who wants to start?!"
Silence.
Charlie’s grin strained, her excitement slowly draining. “Anyone?! Anyone at all?”
“I’ll start if you want Char.” He spoke up without thinking, hating how her expression made him feel bad.
Charlie’s eyes snapped to him, and her smile was full beam again. “Yes! Thank you Drake! You can start!”
He nodded before he straightened in his position to be less slouchy, all eyes on him as they waited. Suddenly he regretted speaking up first. He hadn’t even thought about anything to say.
“Uhhh…hmm..so..” His mind stuttered as he tried to think what information he should give. “..My favourite creature is a dragon. I can’t play the guitar…and I hate chocolate.” Is what his mind came up with.
“Oh I know!” Charlie instantly put her hand up.
Vaggie put her hand on Charlie’s shoulder, smiling fondly. The ex-exorcist angel really loved his sister so much. “We know you do Hon, but give everyone else a chance to guess first.”
“Oh! Yeah right. Of course!” Charlie put down her hand but still smiled anyway. “Everyone, take a guess.”
That left him to watch the chaos unfold.
“I think the chocolate one’s a lie, no-one in their right mind hates chocolate.” Angel practically sneers at the thought next to him.
“I don’t know. I know it’s not everyone taste.” Husk hummed. Angel straightened and he can feel the heat of the gaze that snaps over his shoulder towards the cat.
“How dare you-?!”
Husk hold’s up his paws in surrender. “Hey, I never said I hated chocolate. Just that it’s not everyone’s taste.” He lets his paws drop. “I think its the guitar one.”
“Well its definitely not the Dragon one.” Alastor pipes up. “Not with Draco’s obvious obsession with them and his little dragon companion. I believe I might agree with Angel on this.”
“I agree!” Niffty popped up, appearing from nowhere before she disappeared again, probably back off killing bugs.
“I don’t know…” Vaggie put her two senses in, a small quirk in the corner of her lip. She definitely knew the answer already. “I agree with Husk, I think it's the guitar one.”
There was only one person left to answer other than Charlie now. “What do you think Sir Pentious?” Charlie addressed the snakes who looked lost in thought, his brow furrowed deeply, before jumping in fright at being addressed. “Ahh!"
“Sir Pentious? What do you think?” Charlie asked again.
“Well..I..uh..I think I agree with Angel, Niffty and Alassstor.” Pentious hissed.
“Well that's everyone. Char, wanna do the honours?” He spoke up after watching everything unfold, hiding a smirk that wanted to curl onto his lips.
“Its the guitar one! You are the best guitarist in the whole of Hell! You hate chocolate because it tastes sour and you love dragons the most and always have!” Charlie gabbled in one breath like she’d been holding back this whole time, before wheezing for breath.
“Easy there Hon.” Vaggie rubbed Charlie’s back as she wheezed.
“Thats right.” He confirmed Charlie's, letting his smirk appear.
Angel’s head snapped to him. “You are a psychopath!” Angel jabbed him in the ribs with eyes narrowed, looking personally offended. “How dare you?! Sour! How is chocolate sour?! Its the perfect mixture of sweetness and cocoa! Not sour!”
He could help the laughter than bubbled up inside him at how bizarre this was, that Angel was getting so offended over something this small. A giggle escaped him, which he hid behind his hand, as Angel’s glare deepened.
“Don’t you laugh! Explain!”
His giggle became an all out laugh , tears pricking his eyes blurring his vision, even as Angel jabbed him again. “Hey!"
“Take it easy Legs. He can’t help his taste.” Husk’s baritone voice breaks through his laughter, through his tears he could see the smirk Husk had. He wasn’t the only one laughing, he could hear Charlie giggling away, as well as Niffty who’d appeared again cackling wickedly as she always did.
“But-I Urgh! It just doesn’t making any sense.” Angel flops back down next to him, and presses his head into his hands, like his whole world was ending. “How can anyone hate chocolate.” He mumbled.
His laughter becomes small breathy laughs, his chest aching from the intensity of his sudden laughter. How long had it been since he’d laughed like that? Far too long He wipes his eyes with the back of his hand. “S-Sorry Angel.. I just don’t like it. I used to a kid, but I guess my taste buds changed.”
Angel sighed deeply before he unhid his face and met his eyes. “I suppose I can accept that. but don’t you dare say things like that again. Chocolate is sacred.” His tone was firm.
“Sure thing Angel.” He promised. “I’ll keep my chocolate hating ways to myself from now on.” They shared a smile. Huh, were they bonding? Well this was one way to bond.
“Back to what Charlie said before, the best guitarist in all of Hell?” Vaggie took the conversation back onto a less bizarre route, brow raised. “Is that an over exaggeration or..?”
“No way Vaggie!” Charlie grabbed Vaggie’s shoulders and shocker. "Its true! Drake used to be the lead guitarist and co-lead singer of the most famous rock band in all of Hell! Rings of Hellfire!”
“Hey I know that band! They sung Drowning in Brimstone. That was you?!” Angel seemed to have completely moved on from the chocolate thing now, looking at him with disbelief and a little admiration.
“Y-Yeah, t-that was me.”
It felt like any air had been sapped from the room he was reminded of old memories.
He didn’t like being reminded of his band days. He was a reckless and stupid young adult back then, barely reaching into adult-hood. When everyday was spent with under hot stage lights, sweat clinging to his skin, hair and leather getup, running his eyeliner. The crescendo of his guitar sending the hair’s on his arms standing on end. The screaming of their fans who screamed their names. The acidic and sweet taste of alcohol shots on his lips. The burn of his throat after a night of non-stop singing. Bowing alongside his bandmates at the end of a show, a huge grin of his face, his fingers entangled with his co-singer’s.
None of it was bad, in fact he would have once said that they were good memories.
Now though….they were tainted.
Tainted because he had been too stupid to see before it was too late. To stupid to see the monster hidden under the leather layers of red and black. The reason why he hadn’t picked up his guitar again because all it did was remind him of...
‘We’re the perfect duo Dray, you and me.’ He could feel the ghost of hot breath of his face, the glint of red-lidded eyes that bared into his soul, black lips and sharp fangs painted red with dripping blood. ‘What would you be without me huh baby?’
“Drake?” He was snapped out of his memory and saw everyone staring at him. His eyes settled on Charlie though, who’d been the one to say his name, who was looking at him with a familiar look of concern and…guilt. Guilt for bringing it up.
Oh Charlie..Please don’t look at me like that. He felt his heart squeeze. He should be over this by now, it had been 8 years.
“Sorry about that.” He apologised, trying to keep his voice steady.
“So what happened to the band? Did you break up?” Angel questioned in curiosity. “You were such a big thing for years, but then you guys just dipped on your peak."
“S-Sort of.” That was one way to put it he supposed. “..B-But that was around the time Mom disappeared, so that was when I had to pick up her and Dad’s responsibilities. So I just didn’t have time for it anymore you know..?” A complete lie, but they didn’t need to know that.
Because Mom disappeared a year later.
“Right…” Angel trailed off.
Silence. Tense, foreboding silence.
“….Husk!” Charlie then said suddenly, breaking it with false enthusiasm. “Why don’t you go next?” He could hear the tightness in her voice as she tried to move on.
He began to feel awful. He’d ruined Charlie’s activity. The carefree and fun atmosphere was gone now replaced by tenseness. Because of him.
To make matters even worse, he felt a familiar highness around his wrist.
“Draco..” Adam’s voice was amused as he called his name.
Fuck.
Not only had he ruined her activity, now he would have to leave it when it had barely begun.
Still, he couldn’t refuse Adam. he didn’t have a choice, no matter how awful he felt.
“S-Sorry Char!” He squeaked as he stood suddenly from the couch.“I just remembered I’ve got a meeting! R-Right now! I better get going!” He began inching towards the door just as the cuff tightened.
“Draco…?”
Charlie stood from her seat. “But you said you had a free day!” Charlie’s face fell, she looked even more distraught than before, the guilt returning to her eyes. “Is-it because of-?”
“No!” He accidentally shouted. Shit, he swore at himself internally before he lowered his voice to something softer. “No its not that! I know I said I had free day, I’m sorry. But I forgot about this one meeting. Its just this one now though and the rest of the day I’ll be free.” He rambled nervously.
Charlie walked over to him, stopping in front of him. “Are you sure, because I understand if-?” She looked so guilty, her wide eyes shining with it. He hated that he’d caused this look.
He reached out and took her hand, giving Charlie his most gentle smile as he pulled it towards him. Even as the cuff began to dig into his wrist.
Adam, be fucking patient for once in your fucking life!
“I know Char.” He said softly. "But I’m fine. Its just a meeting that I forgot about, I promise. I’ll be right back after.”
Charlie didn’t look convinced but nodded, giving his hand a squeeze. “Its okay. I get it. We’ll see you later then okay?” She gave him a small smile.
“Yeah.” He squeezed her hand back before he let go. “B-Bye Sis.” He turned and practically sprinted towards the door.
He stopped as soon as he stepped out the door, his shoulders dropping as he sighed. How fucking embarrassing.
Fuck you Adam.
Notes:
Fun fact: The chocolate argument is something similar to what I’ve actually experienced before, because like Draco, I don’t like chocolate at all because it tastes sour to me. I used to like it when I was younger but as I grew older I just didn’t like it, not sure why. People always either never believe me or get offended over it when I tell them for some reason, or just call me not normal or a psychopath because of it. I just don’t like chocolate, whats the big deal?!
My head cannon though is that Angel loves chocolate, so sliding this idea into the fic was a no-brainer. Hope everyone enjoyed the silly antics.
Chapter 10
Notes:
Heyy...been a while huh? 10 months..I’m so sorry I’ve left you hanging for so long. I could spout a hundred excuses that ‘these last 10 months have been stressful and busy’ or that ‘I had some writers block on this fic for a while', but I’m not going to. All I will say, is 'I’m sorry, but we are back!' (Hopefully you won’t have to wait another 10 months for another chapter..) Hopefully this fic had returned at a good time as well, as I can see the rate of Adam fics slowing down on the site, so I hope I can continue to contribute to them! I have missed writing my two favourite boys, Adam and Draco so much.
And Adam makes a return this chapter! Yay!
Anyways, enjoy!!
Chapter Text
The walk to the Embassy was horrid, most of Draco’s anger and annoyance had drained along the way, he was left feeling numb from his mini ‘breakdown’.
He just couldn’t get the words of his memory out of his head. It seemed the floodgates had been opened again, the walls that he’d built to keep the memories locked away come down for a second, letting some escape. Usually this would only happen on their anniversary, but it seemed today was an exception. Angel bringing up the band had done just the trick.
‘We’re the perfect duo Dray, you and me.’ He could almost feel the ghost of hot breath of his face, the glint of red-lidded eyes that stared into his soul, black lips painted red with dripping blood. ‘What would you be without me huh?’ The lips curled into a wicked grin, before he was silenced by them, the taste of metallic blood infecting his tastebuds making bile rise in the back of his throat, his neck stinging from where sharp teeth had dug in deep leaving a bloody bite mark, small rivets of blood dripping down his collar bone-
He flinched, stopping in place in the middle of the pavement, eyes clenching closed. He felt bile rise in the back of his throat, which he forced himself to re-swallow and tried to force the memory away from where it played beneath his eyelids. He felt like he was going to be sick.
Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Think about something else.
He repeated the manta over and over again, opening his eyes and beginning to walk again.
Think about anything else. Bunnies, Charlie, Dad, Mom, Anything.
Eventually he settled on Dad, thinking about his hugs, holding him tight. How whenever he was in one, he felt the safest he could ever feel. How warm they were and how much he missed them now.
By the time he reached the Embassy, the bad memories were out of mind, replaced by happier ones, though it didn’t fully alleviate the feeling they left. He didn’t feel bad anymore, but he didn’t feel normal either. He felt numb.
All he wanted was to do was go home and climb back into bed and just lay there, maybe even cry for a bit.
But he had to get this over with. Once it was done, he could do just that.
He pushed open the large golden and quietly slipped inside. The only sound he could hear in the Embassy was his feet echoing off the marble floor and his breathing.
He entered the meeting room where Adam was already waiting, leaning back in his chair, feet on the table.
“Hey! You finally made it! Took you long enough.” Adam pushed himself up, grinning.
“What do you want Adam?” His voice came out just below a whisper.
“What up with you?” Adam asked, seeming confused at his quiet state. To be fair, it was very unusual behaviour from him where Adam was concerned.
He just shook his head. “I-Its nothing.” He cleared his throat. “What do you want this time?”
Adam frowned a moment longer before it dropped. “I’m bored. Lute’s being a bitch and I need some entertainment.”
“Okay..” He sighed. He had no energy to even argue today. “What do you want me to do?”
A smirk curled onto Adam’s lips, before a golden long piece of parchment appeared in his hands with a golden glow.
Adam is silent for a moment before. “Ohhhh. Perfect. I want to create a chant and dance for me showcasing how I’m the best.”
“You've got to be joking.”
“Nope, I don’t think so, and you’ve got to be wearing this.” Adam clicked his fingers.
He couldn’t hold back the flinch as he was surrounded by a golden glow, as it faded, he looked down and scowled.
He was in a golden and black cheerleading kit, with a small vest, that ready in large letters ‘Team Adam’ that came to just below his abs, the skirt was short and only stopped just below his rear, his legs were left bare and his hoofs were on show, around his neck sat a golden chained collar, like a dog collar, with a large gaudy ‘A’ charm hanging on it which was entrusted silver shiny jewels in his hands sat two golden and black pom poms.
“…Looking good babe!” His head snapped up and he glared at the angel with a seething glare.
“This is so fucking stupid.” He muttered in frustration, but didn’t argue. Did Adam have some ego problem or something? First was kneeling and giving him praises. Now a stupid chant and dance saying how ‘he’s the best’? Was this theme for the next 6 months? He fucking hoped not.
“Well not for me. This is fucking hilarious.” Adam snickered, a huge grin on his face. “So dance monkey dance.”
He gave a huff, before he moved to a clear space with room. “Adam Adam, he’s the best. He’s much better than the rest.” He chanted in the most monotone voice he could muster, his dance only raising his arms and moving them out to the side, alternating with each word. He stopped after the last word, with his hands held limply it in air, wearing the most deepest frown.
“Come on, I know you can do better than that!” Adam heckled. "More energy and enthusiasm! Channel that fucking annoying and perky sister of yours. Hell, your bitch of a Mom is a performer!”
“I hate you.” He ground out, before sighing. “Fine.” Whatever gets him out of here quicker.
He plastered on a false smile, one he only ever used around people he hated and some demon royalty that always got on his nerves and began to dance. One thing the angel wasn’t wrong about was that he was the son of a performer and a showman and he was no untalented son. If Adam wanted a performance, he would at least give him a good one. He began swaying his hips, the short skirt riding up on his thighs, his hands on his hips. “Adam Adam, he’s the best! He’s much better than the rest! The First Man, he’s not a fool! He’s so fucking cool! A. D. A. M. What does that spell?!” He flipped through the air.” Adam!” He landed on the floor in the splits with ease, pom-poms held in the air.
He looked over to Adam to see him staring at him silently, almost intently. He felt his false smile become a smirk, which curled onto his black lips. Had his routine been that impressive that he’d caused Adam to be speechless? Wow. And that wasn’t even his most incredible performance.
“Speechless are we Adam?” He couldn’t help but tease.
His voice happened to shake the angel out of whatever trance he’d fallen into, his wide grin returning as he barked a cackle.
“Ha! I’m gonna watch this every morning! If it were allowed, I would bring you to every training session to cheer me on from the sidelines.”
“Sure.” He huffed, rolling his eyes. “Anything else you want me to do, or are we done here?”
“Yeah yeah, you’re done babe. I should be heading back anyway.” Adam waved a hand, in seconds his cheerleading outfit turned back to his previous clothes, though the gaudy ‘A’ necklace still remained clasped around his neck.
He moved to take off it off, but was stopped. “Ah ah. No taking that off.” He looked to see Adam waggling his finger, mischief in his eyes.
“What?” He snapped.
Adam’s grin widened. “For the next 24 hours, you have to keep the necklace on and in sight of everyone.”
He gaped with disbelief. Wearing this fucking thing in front of Adam was one thing, but in front of everyone, his people, for 24 hours? That was completely humiliating. It was almost like a brand, showing everyone that he belonged to someone. Even if they didn’t actually know that, he knew. He’d rather be back in the cheerleading costume again, at least he looked good in that.
But he couldn’t disagree, as part of the deal.
“Fine. Whatever.” He then left without another word, as he’d already been dismissed, not caring to exchange goodbyes, the necklace feeling heavy on his neck.
Despite wanting to go home, he felt that he should go and drop by the hotel first to apology for leaving so suddenly. As he did, he could feel eyes on him, aimed towards the necklace. He could hear snickers and jeers at him as he passed by Sinners and Imps, aimed towards his sense of fashion. He hoped this wouldn’t be reported on the news later. He knew Katie fucking Killjoy would have a lot to say about it, as she did with everything to do with the royal family.
When he got back to the hotel, he was almost glad when he saw that the activity was over and everyone was off doing their own things. Only Charlie, Vaggie and Husk hung around still, Charlie and Vaggie sat on the couch chatting, and Husk at the bar, wiping down the countertop.
Almost being the word.
He still felt bad for missing out on Charlie’s activity.
Charlie and Vaggie looked up as soon as he entered, Charlie’s face lighting up. “Drake, you’re back!”
He smiled, his early bad mood slipping away, being faced with his bubbly sister. “I am.” He moved to sit with the two.
“What’s that?” Charlie asked, her attention immediately pulled to the necklace. He could see how she was trying to be nice and not to pull a face at his new fashion accessory.
“It was a gift, please don’t ask.” He almost pleaded to her.
Her face changed into one of understanding, before nodding. “Okay. I won’t.”
He gave her a grateful look, feeling thankful that he had the best big sister in existence, before he decided he should apologise for leaving earlier.
“I wanted to say that I'm sorry I missed your activity earlier Charls. I want you to know that I really wanted to be there. Honestly.” He said sincerely.
Charlie’s face softened into her big sister face. “It’s okay.” She reassured him softly. “You don’t have to apologise. I understand that you’re a busy person.”
“But it’s not.” He argued. “I promised you that I’d be there, and I broke it. All because of that stupid fucking meeting.” He ground out the last part.
“Drake. It’s okay.” He felt Charlie placed her hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. “There will be other activities you can attend.”
“I know.” He breathed. “I just want to be there and support you like you’ve always supported me.” His whole life, Charlie had supported him in everything he did, even the smallest things, he just wanted to do the same for her.
“Aww D-Drake. T-That’s s-so s-sweet.” She sniffed as tears began filling up in her eyes and quickly streaming down her cheeks. Happy tears. She pulled him close into a hug as she sobbed. “Y-You’re t-the b-best l-little b-brother I-I c-could h-have e-ever h-had.”
“Aww Charls. Stop it. You’ll make me c-cry.” He could already feel his eyes begin to fill up. A trait that both her and him had gotten from their Dad. He hugged her back, soon crying just as hard. “Y-You’re t-the b-best b-big s-sister I-I c-could h-have e-ever h-had.”
The lobby was soon filled with the sound of two sobbing Morningstar’s, whilst Husk watched on from the bar with confusion and Vaggie with affection, mostly aimed at her girlfriend, but some was aimed towards her future brother in law too.
A few minutes later, their sobs were sniffs, each of them covered in each other’s tears, but smiling happily as they still hugged.
Eventually they both pulled away, but not before Charlie pressed a sisterly kiss to his forehead,
He smiled, feeling much better. “I’m going to head home. I’ll be back for you next activity. Friday right?"
“That’s right.” Charlie bobbed her head in a nod and smile. “I love you Draco.” She said softly.
“Love you too Charlie.” He replied just as softly, before he headed off.
Once he arrived at his apartment, he greeted Emmy, who had been having a little zoom around the sitting room, spreading her little wings, and landed on his shoulders.
He gave her a little scratch under the chin, Emmy giving him a little dry lick with her forked tongue on his cheek in return, before she settled, curling around his neck.
He looked around the room, deciding what he should do for the rest of the day. He hadn’t been lying when he said to Charlie that today had been a free day for him. For the first time in ages, he’d had no meetings or anything to clog up his schedule. Not until Adam called that is.
Maybe he should catch up on one of his shows, he mused, his eyes catching his laptop that sat on his desk. He hadn’t done that in a while. If he remembered rightly, he had left it off mid-season months ago and hadn’t watched since. Maybe he should rewatch from the start of the season as a refresher since it had been so long. It would also be a great distraction from the offending object around his neck.
So with a plan in mind he settled on the couch, his legs resting under a blanket that he usually had thrown on the back of the couch, his laptop resting atop it and Emmy laid across his shoulders snoozing, as he watched. It would be a completely restful and comfortable activity if he couldn’t feel the metal of the necklace pressing against his skin the whole while. Luckily he was pulled into his show easily, making the fact slide to the back of his mind for the time being.
He made it 4 episodes in, before a knock sounded at the door. He paused the episode and looked up, brow furrowing as his eyes went from the door to the clock on his wall, that read 4:30, and to the door again. Who was it? He wasn't expecting visitors?
“Come in!” He clicked his fingers to unlock the door and called out to the person, too comfortable to move himself or even check who it was.
The door opened, and in stepped Angel Dust. That was a surprise. What was even more of a surprise was little Fat Nuggets, who was curled up in Angel’s arms. The cutest Hellpig in the whole of Hell.
“Hey Angel, what’s up?” He asked casually, though confused why Angel was here. Especially when he noticed that the spider looked hesitant.
“Hey Draco. C-Can we talk?”
Concern rose when he heard the waver in Angel’s voice. He snapped his laptop closed and quickly moving it aside and sliding over, patting the free space next to him on his couch “Of course we can. Come sit.” He urged Angel over.
Angel came over, perching in the offered place, placing Fat Nuggets down. Emmy, who had woken up, noticing the pigs presence, swooped down and began prancing around the HellPig to play. It was the cutest sight, one he and Angel sat watching together in silence for a little while.
“Soo..what did you want to talk about?” He decided to break the silence, turning towards Angel.
Angel stayed silent for a little while, staring into the distance, before he let out a breath. “I-I..I wanted to come and apologise for earlier.”
He looked at the spider in confusion, trying to place the reason for the apology, until he realised. “Oh.”
What happened during the activity. It was Angel who’d brought up his past. With everything with Adam, he had actually forgotten about it. Huh.
“Oh that.” He continued a moment later, giving an awkward laugh. “I-It’s okay honestly. You didn’t do anything wrong.” He quickly reassured the spider.
Angel turned, his eyes meeting his. “But I did. I brought up some bad memories didn’t I?”
He couldn’t help but feel taken aback at Angel’s accurate observation. “H-How did you-?”
“You had a look earlier. I’ve seen that look before. I know that look.” Angel said gently, the look in his eyes earnest, and almost protective. “You don’t have to talk about it. I won’t ask you to. I just wanted you to know that I’ve been there, and you aren’t alone, you know? And if you ever did want to talk, to let you know I’ll listen..” He trailed off.
He stared back at Angel, feeling a strange warmth filling him.
He knew about Angel’s relationship with Valentino, the Overlord, it was difficult not to know of it.
He knew of Valentino, he had met the man a bare few times in passing when meeting with the Vees and severely disliked him. He was sleazy, disgusting and vile, and if he had his way, the Overlord position would have been snatched from him in an instant, and Angel, and everyone else under him, would be free.
But even though he was the crowned Prince of Hell, any Overlord business and deals could not be meddled with by him if it didn’t directly affect the royal family or endangered Hell itself, no matter how much he wished could, even Dad couldn’t and he was the King.
Angel’s offer was a surprise to him, and actually not an unwelcome one. Despite the fact he had always been supported by his family after what happened to him, them trying to help him through, the best they could, and to heal, they had never quite got it, not that he’d ever want them to that is.
To have someone offering to listen and support him that did understand what he had went through was different, even if their situations did differ, his aggressor being already long dead, ripped apart and destroyed by his parents for ever touching their son, whereas Angel’s still lived and owned him, still actively hurting him. It just showed the kindness of the spider, which people never bothered to see passed his sexualised persona.
He didn’t known what to say to the spider except; “T-Thank you Angel.” He gave him a small shy smile, but he made sure his eyes showed how appreciative he felt for his gesture.
“N-No problem.” Angel smiled awkwardly in return, before his eyes focused on his laptop, which he had previously put aside. “So what were you up to before I came by?” The spider quickly changed the subject, and he didn’t argue.
“Just rewatching some of my show. Last I watched I left it off mid-season, so I’m just having a refresher before I move on.” He explained, opening his laptop up and showing Angel the screen with the title of the show.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.” Angel looked intrigued at screen.
He shook his head. “You probably wouldn’t of, not with Vox’s crappy shows clogging up the TV Channels, but it’s popular in the other rings. Want to watch with me?” He decided to offer. “I don’t mind going back to the beginning?”
Angel thought about it for a moment, before he shrugged. “Ah what the Hell. Sure, might be fun.” His gaze turned to Fat Nuggets, who was now running around the room, playing with Emmy, huffing an amused laugh. “I don’t think Nuggs is ready to leave yet anyway.”
He grinned as he watched as well. “Yeah. We aren’t going to be able to break those two apart for a while.”
Chapter 11
Notes:
A new chapter woohoo!
As you may have noticed, you also may not have but I will tell you anyway, this fic now has a new chapter 1, a prologue, before the original first chapter. For the last few months, I have been at a stand still with this fic, I loved this fic so much, but I also quite wasn’t happy with it either. Rereading it, there were quite a few things I wish I could have added or done differently. I actually seriously contemplated just starting over and rewriting it all to do this, but decided against it and in the end decided to just tweak what I’ve got, and I’m now happier with the fic and how to write it going forward. So yeah, there is a new chapter one so please go and read that, and there has been a few changes in the rest of the story to, so I recommended giving it a reread, but if you’d rather not, just know that the biggest change now is that Draco no longer lives in the hotel and lives in his own apartment.
Anyway, without further a do, enjoy!

Chapter Text
Weeks went by and Draco’s schedule instantly began piling up again to it’s usual busyness.
Meetings left and right, paperwork to sign, travelling between rings almost daily, sorting out tifs between overlords, Goetia’s and Sins, spending any small amount of his free time attending Charlie’s activities as he wouldn’t let himself miss another, as well as adhering to Adam’s frustrating requests.
He was running himself ragged, barely able to relax or switch his mind off to properly rest, as work and obligations were always on his mind.
He was a workaholic, that was true he supposed. He’d never minded the extra work too much, he could handle it at the very least. Sure, he’d like to not be working so much, but if he didn’t, who else would do it? Maybe Satan, though he didn’t like to put everything onto his uncle, who was already running his entire ring on his own. He was the Crowned Prince, it was his job, his responsibility. He could handle it, or at least that’s what he told himself.
2 days ago had been their 18th meeting, since the deal had been made, and he felt like he was going to snap.
Was Adam trying to make him snap and kill him? Because it was working.
Summons mid-meetings, summons in the middle of the night, summons when he was on the toilet or even in the bath. And all those times, Adam was not patient, the invisible cuff squeezing so hard the circulation threatened to be cut off, Adam’s impatient and pestering voice calling to him in a smug tone. Adam’s requests more ridiculous than the next.
It had barely been over a month, and he was already completely done with it all.
When he woke up at 1am to the squeezing of his wrist and the whispering in his ear, after only an hour of being asleep. He knew he couldn’t do this anymore. He was contemplating just ending the deal right then and there, and letting the extermination come.
He turned over his bed, and pressed his face into his pillow. The frustrated and tired screams he let out being muffled by the fabric, before he lifted his face from it and slammed his fist into it once, as his lungs heaved. His black claws growing and digging into his hand, causing small but deep pinprick cuts which began to bleed and stain his pillow with small droplets.
One day. Couldn’t Adam give him just one day!! Just fucking one!!
He just wanted to rest.
His anger quickly faded to be replaced by frustrated exhaustion as tears began to prick at his eyes, which he blinked away, a sob crawling up his throat, which he swallowed back down.
He could cry later.
He didn’t even bother to change out of his pyjamas, or brush his hair from it’s rats nest, when he snuck out of the hotel. He didn’t even realise that he had left until his hands pressed against the golden doors of the meeting room at Heaven’s Embassy. He must have walked there in a daze.
“Hey, you finally made it. Took long enough did you? Ha!-” Came Adam’s snark, amusement lacing his voice, despite the late hour, as soon as the door opened. As soon as he pale eyes met Adam’s gold.
In that moment, he just broke.
He was so tired.
He was so drained.
He was so fucking fed up.
He dropped to his knees, them making a slight crack as they hit the marble floor, and let out a guttural sob, which echoed around the room and dug so deep inside him that it almost rattled his bones. He pressed his palms into his eye balls, his shoulders shaking as he began to cry.
All his exhaustion, anger and frustration came pouring out in one.
Salty tears streamed and pooled in his hands, his full body heaving letting out everything he’d been holding back, everything he had been hiding from the world since his Mom left 7 years ago and his Dad became a depressed recluse. All of it was coming out in front of the person he’d least wanted it to, but he had no care to even feel embarrassed in that moment.
He had no idea how long he knelt there crying until a he felt something, a large hand, rest hesitantly on his shoulder.
He stopped mid sob, flinching as alarm bells whirred in his mind. in his mind. He slowly, lost like a spooked animal, looked up from where his face had been hidden into his hands.
Then his eyes met gold.
Adam.
Adam was there, knelt on one knee in front of him, looking up him with a frown, eyes mixed with awkwardness, confusion and…was that concern?
He stared, almost gaping, not knowing how to even act with that expression being aimed at him from the being he didn’t even think cared from anyone else but himself.
Adam broke eye contact almost immediately, noticing he had noticed, quickly removing his hand from his shoulder, and let out an awkward cough. “Uhh…feeling better?”
Feeling better? Was that the best he could come up with? Though thinking about it, he did feel a little better after his cry. His chest felt less heavy and for the first time in a long time, he almost felt lighter.
“Y-yeah.” His voice stuttered, sounding croaky, and wiped at his eyes with the back of his hand. “A little bit.”
“So what was that all about?” Adam looked back towards him, a brow raised.
His first instinct was to go on the defence with a snapped ‘Nothing.’ His second was something that surprised him. He wanted to answer truthfully.
Why?
Because he’d never told anyone before? Because Adam had seen the side of his that he hid from everyone? The one who could get overwhelmed and tired. The one who actually couldn’t handle everything as well as he portrayed and lied to himself that he could. The one who was so tired. Because maybe he wanted someone to hear, even if they were to just laugh at him like he was sure Adam would?
He looked down at his knees, making the decision. “I-I’m tired Adam.” He admitted in a defeat tone. “Every since Mom disappeared 7 years ago and Dad became depressed..I-I’ve been taking care of everything, their roles, their responsibilities, meetings, everything.
At first it was okay, sure it was a lot, but it was okay. But over the years it’s become too much. I told Dad and Charlie that I could do this on my own, I wanted to prove that I could, so Dad didn’t have to worry about running Hell on top of everything else and so Charlie could focus on her dreams of redemption and the hotel, to distract myself from…..-” He quickly abandoned that thought before it could form. “-but I just can’t do it anymore. I get the occasional day off and sometimes manage to sleep through the night and that’s luxury compared to the days that I barely get any rest at all. And days have become even more like that now with attending Charlie’s activities to support her and dealing with this, with you-.”
He waved a hand towards the angel without looking at him. “-I’m exhausted Adam, so exhausted that some days I just want to give up.” He ended his speech with a deep breath, curling in on himself and giving himself a hug.
That was it. It was out now. The truth. The words he’d so desperately wanted to tell someone, but held back and tried to ignore. He hoped he wouldn’t come to regret it, or that it wouldn’t come back to bite him in the future.
Silence hung in the air for a while, what kind he couldn’t be sure. He hadn’t looked at Adam yet to see the face he was pulling, but he was waiting for the laughter, for the insults or jeering. He was waiting for the expected response.
Instead, “Huh..”
The sound made him quickly look up. That wasn’t what he expected at all.
And what he saw made him feel even more confused. Adam wasn’t smiling or smirking, he looked contemplative and almost..guilty?
What? Guilty for what? For adding to his stress?
Adam abruptly stood up, breaking him out of his observations, dusting off his robe before turning and heading back towards his usual seat at the table. He flopping down into it and leaning on the arm, resting his fist on under his chin, though not meeting his eyes, a frown on his face. “Go home Draco.”
It took a minute for the words to register. Huh? Go home? Already?
“But what about-?” He began to argue, though quite sure why. He should be happy to be sent away and not have to deal with Adam’s antics for a day, any other day he would be.
“No.” Adam interrupted, shutting him down instantly with a shake of his head, still looking him in the eyes. “Just….go home and get some rest. Okay?”
Had he someone transported himself to a different dimension or something? Because this wasn’t the Adam he’d come to know. The one who gained enjoyment and amusement from tormenting, upsetting and angering him. This was a side to Adam that he’d never seen or even knew existed. This was completely new territory.
He stared at Adam for a moment contemplatively, before he gave a small nod that the angel couldn’t see and stood.“O-Okay.” He took a few steps towards the door but not before looking back once more. “Thanks Adam..for you know, listening and not laughing.” He fiddled with his hands awkwardly as he stood there. “I-I’ve never actually told anyone before so…thanks.” He trailed off, not sure what else to say. The situation was an awkward one and he felt like he’d fallen into the deep end and not quite sure how to navigate it.
Adam didn’t look at him or answer, but he could tell the angel was listening and that was good enough.
He felt small smile curled onto his lips against his will and he left.
This time when he stepped out of Heaven’s Embassy, the cool night air hitting his face, it felt different than every time before.
The winds of change were on the horizon, he could feel it. Whether that was a good thing it remained to be seen, but he could already feel that it would change his life forever.
