Work Text:
A knock came on the door. “Hello?” And then another knock. “Hello?”
And finally, the door opened to welcome its visitor.
“Suzy, you came!” Gopal welcomed her in and reached his arms for the interior of his home. “Welcome to my humble abode!”
Suzy looked around the place with an awed reaction. “Woah, this place is awesome!”
Gopal closed the door behind him. “Yep, glad you like it. Me and dad just moved in here where I can be at least closer to the school.”
She smirked. “Mhm, I see what you mean. So since we're trying to get to know each other better, what do you have in mind?
“I prepared food, you must be really hungry when you got here?”
As if it's his cue, Suzy's stomach grumbled.
“Yeah, I could use a bite to eat.” She said, feeling hungry.
Gopal smiled. “Well, since Boboiboy always talks a lot about you, he mentions your favorite egg salad. It's already there on the table.” He gestured towards the dining room.
her jaw dropped in fascination. Exactly like her granny's cooking.
“Woah, this is so good!” She exclaimed, greedily munching the vegetables in her mouth and swallowed them. “You know, for someone who thinks about food and eats a lot, I always figured you're a great cook.”
Gopal nodded in gratitude. “Hehe, thanks for that. You can finish up and we'll have something to do.”
Oh she's going to dig in real good. Suzy is already impressed with Gopal, so she couldn't wait to learn more about him.
After finishing up, Suzy sat back in the chair with satisfaction. “Man, I'm full! Thanks again, Gopal!”
He chuckled. “Your welcome, Suzy. Anything for my new friend. Now let's chill over there.”
“Sure thing.” Suzy then followed him back to the room. “So what do you want to do?”
He paused and turned back at her with a sheepish look. “Well, actually, the only thing I do here is to play video games.”
Suzy noticed the family gaming console next to his TV. “You got an Xbox?”
“Yeah I do. Do you play games?”
“Yes I do,” she replied. “I also have the same console but…it kind of needs repairing, so I'm still itching to have it back. Hopefully by tomorrow.”
“Oh, I see. You also play the Papa Zola games?”
“Hmm, yeah I do. But I like other games for a change, what else do you play?”
“Let me see.” Gopal went over to the games sitting on top of the console to find anything they would like. “Uhm, actually. I haven't played these, just the Papa Zola games.”
Suzy went next to him. “Then I'd suggest we try other games for a change.”
Gopal agrees with her. “Hmm, that's a great idea.”
“It is better to play other games than just one. Kind of like myself when I have to step out of my comfort zone with boys just to befriend two of them in the group if that makes sense.” She said with certainty.
“Oh, that actually makes sense.” Gopal told her.
So Gopal picked a game and found Minecraft first. “Hey, this game looks kinda cool. I heard it's really popular these days. Maybe we should try this.”
Suzy observed the game. “Minecraft, yeah sure. That works.”
And so they both play the game together, and since they both have seen it before on the Internet. They at least got the idea on what's about and what they can do with it.
“Well, the simple thing to do is chop some logs to make wood, is that it?” He asked, making his character chop down a tree.
“Simple as it sounds.” Suzy replied, following suit.
It took them a while to figure out how to build a crafting table (they had to check YouTube for a tutorial) and now each of their characters had a decent amount of wood.
“So, we're going to build a house?”
Gopal rolled his eyes. “Of course, I thought that's obvious when we were chopping wood.”
“Fair enough. Let's do this.”
It didn't take them a while to finish building a wooden house, even though it's kind of small compared to Gopal's new home, it's actually not that bad. For starters or course.
“Well, that's not actually bad.” Suzy commented, taking a look at their own place.
“It sure is.” Gopal said.
“So what's next?”
Gopal thought about it for a moment. “Hmm, I'm thinking that we should make this our own server, so that we invite the others to play with us, they'll join in here too.” He suggested.
Suzy really likes that idea. “That sounds awesome.”
“Hehehe, yep. And also, I want this to officially start our newfound friendship. Because it's still my fault for doing that to Boboiboy.” Gopal explained.
Suzy nodded in appreciation, Gopal has really shown a work of atonement just as Fang does. She appreciated this so much.
“Well, I'm glad we're having this so I can get to know you better.” Suzy said while smiling. “If you like, we can expand on this to make it feel like “more at home.” She suggested.
“You're right, let's do that now! We could use some more materials and supplies.”
So they spent two hours expanding their Minecraft land around the house, by setting up a small town too. In which it took them quite a lot of materials and items they needed to build everything up. But they're both having fun, this gave Suzy more room to see the depths of his real character. For one thing's for sure, yes, he may be a coward and likes eating food, but he's also a comedic relief and a fun friend to be around with. Especially with how much fun he has with this game for the first time, and so does she. He's not so bad at all.
She already sees that as they're just about finished up with their small town.
“And we're done!” Gopal declared, as they looked around their hard work in the game. “Even though it isn't that much, it's still great.”
Suzy giggled in response. “Yeah, it looks awesome. I can't wait to show the others.” She says.
“You said it,” he agreed. “Plus, we get to play a lot here since it's only been like a couple of hours.”
“Gee, I figured that much.” She replied. “So there's one thing I just want to ask, do you always play this much, and not just about playing the Papa Zola games?”
Gopal bit his lip for a moment and then explained it all. “Well, you see, with everything that has happened lately ever since Boboiboy came back. He and Fang, the trouble with Adudu, and the incident involving Ejo Jo. I just wanted a break every once in a while, you know? And just like those incidents, school has also been stressful with loads of homework and exams. So I booted up my game and played for hours to release the stress, it usually worked so well.”
When he finished, Suzy went silent for a moment to take in everything she heard.
“I get that a lot,” she said. “Believe me, I do. Aside from those incidents, stressful days always made me come back home to play video games for hours. And I'm dying to have my console back so soon because it needs to be repaired. So in a way, yes. I see why you like playing games so much.”
“Yes, but it's even better playing with friends. Like me and Boboiboy, but Adudu got us trapped in the Papa Zola game that time, though we got out of there.” Gopal said.
“Man, he sure has been causing trouble ever since you guys got superpowers.” She stated.
“Yeah, but it's already done now. So I suppose. We can only make times like these to move on and be happy.” Gopal said.
Suzy is a little impressed with how wise he is when it comes to his friends, and so she considered him a new male friend and they continued with their game.
"So what's the next game we can play next?" Suzy said as they're almost finished up with Minecraft
Gopal looked over at the games again and sees something that piqued his interest.
"How about Fortnite?"
Suzy clicked her tongue. "It could be tougher to play it first time but I'd like to learn it with you. And maybe we can work together against some toxic players."
"Hehehe, sure thing. Let's finished up with Minecraft first." Gopal said.
She eagerly nodded. "Let's do it."
