"What's brought you all the way out to Iowa," Clint asked.
"I don't know what's going on, but this was in Coulson's dead drop and it's addressed to you," Maria said.
"You don't think--"
"What else could it be?" Maria asked. "Did any of the Avengers tell you that his Captain America trading cards were supposedly in his suit jacket when Loki murdred him?"
"He would never," Clint said. "Why wouldn't have Nat said something to me?"
"I think she's poking around on her own," Maria said.
"Do you have any idea where to start?" Clint asked.
"None. Maybe Coulson left you clues," Maria said, nodding toward the envelope.
"You didn't open it?" Clint asked.
"If he wanted me to open it he'd have put my name on it," Maria said "I need to get back before I'm missed."
"Why would Nick do this?" Clint asked.
"Why does Nick do anything?" Maria asked. "I'd keep this under your bonnet until we know something more."
"I'm going to start here," Clint said, gesturing with the envelope. "Good luck."
"You too," Maria said.
Clint, clutching the envelope to his chest, went back into his and Phil's farm house praying this was true.
