Marinette's head was buzzing with a million "what-ifs" as she stood there, holding a super cute gift in her hands. Is this gonna make him think I'm weird? she thought, kinda worried she'd end up being that quirky girl who talks to her hamsters all day because Adrien ran off with Chloe to some fancy beach.
Then, outta nowhere, Plagg, Adrien's cheeky Kwami, pops up and goes, "Ey! Pigtails!" because Marinette's hair is totally on fleek today. Marinette's mouth just drops. Wait a sec, does this mean Adrien is actually Cat Noir? Both of them just freeze, like, "What is even happening?"
"Ey! Pigtails!" Plagg goes again, trying to lighten the mood and totally pointing at her awesome hairdo. Adrien's just standing there, eyes wide as saucers.
"Can I call you that? It just seems right," the cat kwami added.
Tikki, Marinette's own little Kwami, floats out, adding to the surprise party. "I think it's great!" The kwami then turned to the two lovesick idiots teenagers.
"So, you're probably freaking out about why we're doing this big reveal, right?" Marinette and Adrien are just nodding, totally baffled. "Well, the guardian thought it was about time after that battle with Stoneheart. Looks like the memo got lost during that rain, huh?" Tikki says, feeling a bit sheepish.
Plagg, never one to miss a chance for some fun, teases, "Looks like 'just a friend' isn't gonna cut it anymore, huh?" That gets Adrien all red and stuttery, like he's trying to talk while walking on a tightrope.
Noticing Marinette's gift, Tikki's all, "Hey! That's so sweet! Marinette was just about to make her move!" Adrien's mind is pretty much blown. Wait, she was gonna ask me out?!
Tikki, always rooting for love, spills the beans, "Marinette's been crushing on you since that adorable umbrella share."
Plagg, with a grin, adds, "And my holder here totally fell for you when you stood up to Hawkmoth like that."
Suddenly, Marinette, caught up in the feels, blurts out, “Do you only like Ladybug, or is there room for me too?” It's a big question, her heart racing for his answer.
Adrien, with all the feels, tells her, “I like you, Marinette, and Ladybug. You're both super awesome." He's totally sincere. "Ladybug's bold moves against Hawkmoth are legendary, but finding out it's you... wow, that's amazing. And Marinette? I've been hoping we'd be more than friends. So, yeah, I like you. No, wait, I love you.”
Marinette's worries just vanish, and she's all kinds of happy. Her fear of spilling her guts seems so silly now. They go in for a kiss, a bit awkward but it's perfect (purrfect, one might say), dreaming of what's next. Tikki and Plagg, sneaking peeks, are pretty proud of themselves. They were all in to see this love story bloom, shaking up the whole love square drama once and for all.
And the best part? Tikki and Plagg knew that in other universes, their counterparts watched as Adrien and Marinette danced around their feelings, never taking the leap. Not this time, though. This universe was going to have its happy ending, breaking the cycle of missed chances and what-ifs. They were determined to see Marinette and Adrien not just face their feelings but embrace them, proving that sometimes, a little nudge towards destiny was all it took.
