We can make it Omega!
With the intel Omega had so cleverly managed to obtain she now had a plan in place for the great escape. And, with a few well placed words by Nala Se to the infamous Doctor Hemlock, Omega was allowed to see Crosshair. To actually visit the sniper with thanks to the Kaminoan scientist for pulling the strings to allow the family members to reunite. Not an easy feat, but Nala Se wasn’t born yesterday and knowing rather well how to get her way when she really wanted to. Even with the imperials. And Omega on her part had made sure the scientist had wanted to.
Having passed the sniper by in the corridor only once before when having been brought to Mount Tantiss, Omega had been in total shock at how very defeated and small Crosshairs had looked. The man barely sparing a glance at Omega. As if not even recognising her! So, upping her game, Omega had pushed Nala Se to make their meeting happen sooner than later. Before it was too late, which Omega had also feared. The experiments taking their toll on the proud sniper.
And so her Omega finally was, at the doorstep to her brother’s cell.
What she was waiting for was even beyond her own thinking. A permission to enter perhaps? Then again, Crosshair did not even seem to register Omega was standing there. So waiting for anything to happen was moot at this point.
“Crosshair?”
The sniper did not stir from his heap of a position on the cot he seemed to permanently be lodged to.
“Crosshair, it’s me, Omega.” She tried again, tearing up, worried of Crosshair lethargic condition.
It took several agonising moments for Omega to be calling at her brother, but then Crosshair man managed to look up, his eyes aimed straight at the awaiting girl.
“O-me-ga?” The croak of a hoarse tone which was a mere whisper, eyes blurry as Crosshair stared unbelieving at the girl standing there.
Omega did not wait nor did she hesitate or ask for permission, rather rushed into the small room right to Crosshair. Her arms finding purchase around the impossibly thin, slim figure of the sniper’s. Almost crushing him in the tight hold of hers. The happy tears following as a result of finally being reunited with her wayward brother.
It took a moment for Crosshair to realise what was happening. That this, was no dream nor a hallucination of his own doing. Crosshair’s arms moving slowly, cautiously around the girl. Hugging Omega back while holding her tightly as if afraid this wasn’t real after all.
*
They had remained like that, in the tight embrace for a long moment. A first for them both for sure. The two clone commandos standing guard on the outside seemingly leaving them alone, never pressing for their meeting to end thankfully.
Omega though, needed to let Crosshair know he wasn’t alone and abandoned in this Force forsaken facility. The hushed assuring words Omega started speaking to the sniper finally getting through as Crosshair became more and more relaxed and aware of his surroundings and of Omega.
Realising she had gotten through to Crosshair, Omega decided it was time to let Crosshair know she had been working on a plan of escape for the two of them. How much she dared to tell though? Well, Guess at this point not so much, fearing the torture, the experimentation Crosshair had clearly endured so far and would most likely continue would make him reveal something to the imps. Then again the clones, especially Clone Force 99 were a resilient bunch and it would take a lot to break them.
And so continuing in hushed tones, Omega started spilling the overall plan to Crosshair. Seeing him visibly perk up after hearing most what Omega had been up to. The two of them staring at each other for a long spell before Crosshair let a hint of a smile to emerge onto his face. This being the first glimpse of hope in this hellhole of a prison for him in the longest of whiles. And so…
“I think we can make it out of here Omega. Together.”
