Chapter Text
It all started on a Sunday morning in a bed.
Well, technically it started on a Wednesday afternoon in a small cafe on a street corner, but for the sake of ease, we’re starting on a Sunday morning.
A phone buzzed on the bedside table. And it buzzed again. And again until something stirred under the dark blue duvet and a hand shot out to grab the phone, pulling it back under the bedding.
“‘Llo?” A thick female voice asked quietly.
“Where the fuck are you?” A loud voice boomed through the phone – so loud the teen on the other end could have been standing on the opposite side of Oxford and still be heard.
The owner of the hand winced.
“In bed – where else would I fucking be Gloinson?”
“Well clearly not your bed Durin – otherwise we’d see you.”
“You’re in my ROOM!”
“Course you div, we were waiting outside but you weren’t coming so Tau let us up.”
“Why? It’s too early for this shit.”
“It’s Sunday.”
“…”
“You fucking forgot didn’t you?”
“…”
“Twenty minutes yeah? Or we’re leaving without you.” The boy hung up, leaving the girl to fling back the duvet and run into the bathroom (completely naked).
When she returned to the bedroom, she was met with the owner of the duvet sitting up, looking completely unimpressed. “Was that completely necessary?” He asked, his own voice rough and full of sleep.
“Given the circumstances, which are shitty, yes.” The girl told him seriously, shimming her dress from last night over her head, “Not that I wouldn’t love to stay, but…”
“Duty calls right?” The man grinned half heartedly, watching her hop as she pulled on her boots, that had five-inch heels, “Is that really a church appropriate outfit?”
“Well it’s going to have to be isn’t it?” She snapped, before deflating slightly, “Bard…I really love to stay honest…but my uncle…”
“I know Kee.” Bard leapt up and tackled her into a hug, “See you tonight right?”
“Course,” ‘Kee’ grinned up, pulling him down into a kiss, “Tonight.”
Gimli drummed his fingers on the wheel anxiously.
“She’s here she’s here!” Ori – his older cousin cried out, hitting the roof of the car. Indeed there was their missing cousin, sprinting down the street in her stupid heels.
“Fucks sake Kíli!” Gimli exclaimed as she slid into the back of his car, “Where the fuck were you.”
“Bard’s.” She told him, “Obviously.”
Both boys rolled their eyes. Gimli slammed down on the pedal and they sped off to London.
