Four was not in bed.
Two could always tell, even when they were asleep– somehow. But it didn’t matter how! All they knew was Four was gone, and they didn’t know where.
The pitter patter of the rain droplets hitting the window was a relaxing sound, but the current situation was not.
They practically ripped the cover off of themselves, rushing out of bed and scurrying their way downstairs, only to be met with the sight of a familiar blue integer, sitting on the windowsill as they watched the rain; being oddly fascinated and entranced by it.
They let out a huff, being relieved nothing bad happened. It may be irrational– but they knew how Four was, he constantly did dangerous stunts like–
“Two?”
They froze in place, stopping their journey back up the stairs as they looked at their partner, a smile creeping up their lips as they awkwardly waved, Four reciprocating it and patting a spot next to them.
Two immediately teleported right next to Four, smiling as they held their hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. “Why are you up, Foury?” They asked, tilting their head to the side like a lost puppy. Four groaned, looking back at the window.
“I’m watching the rain, can’t you tell?” They snapped, but Two could tell it was just a playful jab at them rather than real anger. “Mm.. maybe I can’t, going blind perhaps?” They hummed, Four just chuckling before his face lit up; and they stared directly at Two.
“You should go outside in the rain with me.”
It seemed less like a question and more like a demand, but that was fully in character, and they weren’t shocked. “Sure! Why not?” They nodded, immediately being dragged out the door by their partner.
They almost instantly felt the rain droplets fall onto their heads, dripping down on the two of them as Four continued running; hand gripped tight before they abruptly stopped, both pointing and looking up– which led Two to do the same.
The two stared in awe, stars twinkling brightly and the moonlight shining down onto them. The night sky was beautiful, and Two was glad he brought them out here.
“Woah.. wait– Four? Do you think we could find a rainbow out here?” They ask, a grin on their face, which Four responds to with a soft smile. “Hmm.. we could try.” He shrugs, before getting a taste of his own medicine and being dragged along by two; his legs now having a mind of their own.
The two searched every nook ‘n cranny, eventually finding a rainbow just after the rain stops. Now satisfied, they head back into their home, drying themselves and heading off to bed.
“That was pretty fun! We should do that more often, don’tcha think, Two?” Four beamed, sitting up and gawking at the idle Two, who nodded in response; seeming pretty tired.
Probably due to being woken up by the rain..
“Goodnight, Foury..” They yawn.
“Goodnight, Two.” He replies.
