Work Text:
If the future is so bright
Why am I still here just yearning
For a past that's full of fight
And these memories that are burning
Disconnected from them all
Looking at a blue light
Maybe it's my downfall?
I'll look till my eyes ignite
Hoping against hope
That somehow I will find it
These memories of old
I'll be the one to revive it
Never even been to Stonewall
But I can feel the fury
I'll never see a gay bar
Cause I might die prematurely
Because we all do, don't we?
Never old enough to get gray
No trans men in their eighties
Just young bodies in decay
An almost perfect genocide
And now it's come again
A monster blonde and blue-eyed
Has so many sins to prevent
Well I've had fucking enough
Of divide and conquer working
I'm calling off their bluff
Even if it means that I'm disturbing
The peace was always fake
A silent deadly tactic
But all silences break
And the change you'll see is drastic
The battle won't be bloody
I won't count no casualties
Pure honesty from me
Me with no apologies
Yet I'm still in mourning
For many thousands lost
A generation of warning
A history never taught
So many words of wisdom
Taken to the grave
A two-faced fucking system
That exterminates the brave
Feigning support wildly
While covering up lies
Leading masses blindly
Under a scrubbed clean rainbow guise
