   正统十四年冬十月，也先率三万人马过洪州堡，欲侵犯京师。景帝敕兵部尚书于谦提督各营军马，谦以固守示弱不可也，亟令诸将屯于九门，营建堑垒。帝亲巡防于城上，又与谦同行卧，以振士气。
