Work Text:

Gold needed advice. Love advice, to be specific. So, who would be better to call than Blue?

Blue entered the daycare, the small bell on the door jingling. Gold promptly set down a group of Happiny and walked back to the counter.

"Blue!" She smiled and hung her bag on the rack.

"Shouldn't you be on the job?" Blue teased as she sat down in front of him, crossing her legs.

"The owners of this place are on vacation, so I can basically do whatever I want," he replied. Gold untied his apron, walking towards the coat rack. "Man, I've missed freedom," he sighed. Blue leaned on the counter, facing him.

"So, Gold..." He turned to look at Blue, who now bore a smirk. "You said you wanted some help, right?"

His face turned a light pink. "Oh, right, I-"

"Who's the lucky lady?! Is she pretty?!" Blue gasped at the idea. "Or... she's a dexholder like us?" She winked at him, hinting "I won't tell anyone that you like Crystal!", when it couldn't be further from the truth.

"Hold on, no way! He's not- I mean she's not-" he grumbled, and looked a lot more flustered (and frustrated) as he sat next to Blue.

"This.. girl, is like an enigma to me. We've been friends for a long time now, but sometimes I feel like I still can't understand her. Like I don't know what she's thinking. And I hate it, because I want her to like me too, but I don't know anything at all, and I don't want to ruin my friendship with him!"

"I mean... her. Not him."

Blue paused. Then she understood.

"So... you wanted love advice, right? Then, here. Tell that "girl" that you like her. Because I know for sure she likes you back." she planted a hand on his shoulder, with a warm smile. It was his first time seeing that look, but it was oddly comforting. "Oh, hold on. Someone's calling," she took her pokegear and put it to her ear.

"Yes, hello? Right now? Alright, thanks." Blue got up and stretched a bit before going to the door.

"You're leaving already?" he asked, turning to face her.

"Another errand from Professor Oak," she groaned. She grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "I'd love to stay longer, but you understand." Blue opened the door, and took a step forward before looking back at the boy.

"And Gold? You better tell Silver you like him."

The door closed, rocking back and forth as the bell jangled.

Maybe he should tell him.
