Swear Jar

Summary:

"What the fuck is that." "It's a swear jar Simon..." "And why do we exactly need a fockn' swear jar?" "Because you four need to learn not to swear so much." "It's not hurting anyone!" "Roach I don't care, you put a dollar in the jar every time you swear. Goes for the rest of ya too."

Price gets a swear jar for the task force because frankly he's tired of their bulshit.

Notes:

Their so silly guys! (i love Roach with a burning passion which is why he's here)

Work Text:

Price had always knew the task force had a tendency to swear at each other, especially Soap. Sometimes he understood why they would swear but now it's becoming a problem. The normally PG13 Roach is now worse than any of them, swearing his life away using the words like a life line. And Price is fed up.

At first Gaz just doesn't care, swears like he normally does. After two weeks he has about 200 dollars bills in their, then he realizes that he should probably tone it down. Roach goes completely nonverbal and Price makes sure he puts a bill every time he flips someone off, by the end of of the seccond week he has 59 dollar bills in the jar. Ghost swears at Soap every once and awhile just for the hell of it. He doesn't put any money in until he gets scared by Roach who almost gives the man a heart attack. Price forces Ghost to put in the money he should have already been putting in their and the additional ones from that day, at the three week mark he has 109 dollars in their. Soap cuts his swearing down a bit and ends up with only 69 dollars in the jar.

"This is bullshit." "Put a dollar in Soap." "Fine..."

Soap puts a dollar in the jar and walks back to the kitchenette huffing and puffing the entire way. He sits on top of Roach who shoved him off and flips him off, Price doesn't say anything.

"Roach just flipped me off." "Oh my god. Gary-"

Roach hit Soap and handed Price a dollar bill, Soap grumbles something in Scottish. Ghost walks in with a laughing Gaz, Ghost puts a five dollar bill in the jar and Gaz puts one in.

"You good Ghost?" "Gaz scared me." "Worth it!" "Shut up..." "You scream like a girl-" "Shut the fuck up Kyle." "Put a-" "I know old man."

Price sighed and looked at the rest of the task force, they had basically went back to their normal selves. But this time they counted money as the did, counting their swears.

It took about a month before Price realized that the swear jar wasn't going to work, Roach had returned to speaking but was more timid almost like he was afraid. Soap had lost some of his spunk and mainly drew in his notebook, Ghost had absorbed himself in paperwork ignoring the world around him. Gaz simply gave bland responsives whenever having a conversation. Price called for a meeting and the jar was set on the table.

"I've decided to get rid of the swear jar." "Really!" "Yes, it's not effective. We're all adults and I think we can handle swearing." "HELL MOTHERFUCKING YEAH!"

Roach shouted putting his hand in the air he celebrated. Ghost and Soap looked ag each other and started their usal banter, Gaz simply nodded and smiled at his captain before celebrating with Roach. Price looked at his men and smiled to himself and dumped the money on the table, the task force grabbing the money they had lost. Once the meeting was over the base returned to it's usual feeling. One with banter, friendship, and it's familiarity. Price soaked this feeling up, he could handle them swearing and he silently made a vow to not try this again. After all, he hadn't even put money anytime he swore.
