Work Text:
Angel is happy. Very, very, very happy.
Because he’s in love.
And luckily for him, he loves him back.
So here he is, lying in his bed with Husker, the love of his afterlife. Angel’s sleep shirt, a cute crop top with a cherry on it, serves as Husk’s pillow as he snoozes. Angel runs his fingers through Husk’s fur, marveling at its softness.
Angel noticed that about cats when he was alive. If the cat is apprehensive about human touch, it’s more likely to have soft fur. Which makes it that much more rewarding when they eventually accept love from you.
Angel cups Husk’s face with his hands, carefully smoothing out the fur on his face. His heart aches with the amount of love he has for the demon. He softly runs a finger down the bridge of Husk’s nose, giggling when Husk sneezes in response.
“Bless you,” Angel whispers.
“Too late for that.” Husk jokes.
Angel smiles at him. Husk opens his eyes, propping his chin on Angel’s chest to look him in the eyes. “You’re so pretty,” Angel says quietly, running a hand against Husk’s ear. Husk purrs contently at the touch, leaning into it. “Pretty boy.”
Husk smiles a slight blush across his cheeks. Angel leans forward and kisses him lightly on the forehead. “I love you.” He whispers, leaning back against the pillows.
“I love you too,” Husk replies, wrapping his arms around Angel to hold him tighter. He buries his face in Angel’s chest fluff, his purring intensifying as he relaxes more.
Angel can feel the vibrations of Husk’s purring reverberating through his chest. He runs the claws of his second set of arms lightly up and down Husk’s back, knowing how much it relaxes him. Angel hums quietly, looking around his room. He loves his room. It took him a while to get it to look the way it does now after he originally moved into the hotel.
The first thing he did was paint it pink. Not the aggressive pink that everyone thinks is his favorite. A nice pastel pink, something calming and pretty. He brought the rest from his old room in the V’s tower. His LED lights drape from the ceiling, giving the illusion of stars falling from the night sky. He bought a princess bed, one where there are curtains around the sides and the top is shaped like a tower. Of course, it’s pink. Cherry blossom pink, which just so happens to be Angel’s favorite shade.
At the moment Angel’s room is pretty messy. He and Husk had spent the day shopping and when they got back to the hotel, Husk asked Angel to model the clothes he got. So his brand new clothes are strewn around the floor, draped over his floor-length mirror, and even on his bed. Angel had decided to clean it tomorrow, preferring the option of cuddling with Husk instead. He glances at his bookshelf, making a mental note to organize it tomorrow while he’s cleaning.
He’s never been a big reader, but he does like to sit down with a good book from time to time. So his bookshelf is small but filled with all his favorites. He also likes to annotate books with a pen, writing his thoughts and opinions in the margins. Husk thinks it’s adorable, reading them after Angel annotates them so he can read them through his eyes.
The stereo in the corner is playing Angel’s favorite playlist quietly, one he named ‘pure ecstasy’. He almost changed it when he saw Husk reading it but when he laughed he decided against it.
Throughout the past year, Husk has slowly started to move into Angel’s room. There are a few bottles of cologne on the dresser, even though Angel only wears perfume, as well as a few bowties and pants that aren’t Angel’s size.
Eventually, Husk officially moved into Angel’s room after asking him awkwardly if it was okay. Angel remarked how cute he looked and confirmed that he would love for Husk to move in with him. At that point, Husk had slept over in Angel’s room every night anyway so there wasn’t much of a change.
Angel found out that Husk, though he only ever wears one thing, has a slight interest in fashion. He’s the perfect person for Angel to ask for advice on an outfit. Most of the time he says it’s perfect and even comments on what accessories would be a good match. But sometimes he tells Angel that the outfit doesn’t work, knowing the spider won’t take it to heart.
Apart from being a fantastic boyfriend and fashionista, Husk is also an excellent shoulder to cry on. Angel’s job can get hard sometimes, both physically and emotionally, but knowing that Husk is waiting for him at home makes it easier. Especially since Husk is willing to do anything and everything for Angel. On hard days, Husk makes him food and drinks, cuddles with him, and even reads to him sometimes.
Angel smiles to himself, hugging Husk a bit tighter.
Angel is very, very, very happy.
