There was definitely something very different about him. He’d always looked burdened, a fact that saddened her deeply, but this was something else. He looked haunted.
Granted, he had a look of pure shock on his face, probably due to her presence. She realized that, unlike her, his face was only covered in what she would describe as terror. Not one ounce of excitement to be found. Well, that stung .
Was he not even slightly happy to see her?
Billy, on the other hand, felt frozen.
He had recognized her voice the second he heard it. Teddy had said her name. She was standing in front of him, looking at him with those insanely blue, vibrant eyes of hers, and he still couldn’t believe it was true.
She looked so different than he'd remembered. Her hair was the same shade of red, but it was longer and she now had bangs. Her face had thinned out significantly, making her look almost foreign to him. Her eyes though; those were exactly the same and caused the same reaction in him they always did.
