Chapter Text
Lucifer woke up, breathing heavily. He felt sweat fall down his face, and he felt extremely cold. He sat up, covering the blanket up to his shoulders. He looked around the room, and then his eyes landed on a ‘too’ tall shadow that was on his wall. A small grumble came out from Lucifers mouth. He clutched his shoulders to see if he was even wearing clothes. He was so cold that he got surprised when he felt his sweater on him. Right, he forgot he had fallen asleep with his clothes on.
The shadow disappeared and Lucifer got up from his usually nice and comfy bed, which now seemed cold and scary. He put on his hat and walked out from his room. As soon as he left, even more worry filled him. It had been around three weeks since the battle against heaven, and Lucifer had to bear the thought that maybe heaven would gather more exorcists.
He once had tried to tell Charlie about his worries, but it came out way to wrong.
_____
“Charlie…eh, do you ever think that heaven will come back, even stronger?” Lucifer had asked his daughter. She looked both confused and anxious. “No? What makes you think that?” The princess of hell had replied.
“Well… ah, just in case, you know, heaven decides to get even more exorcists?” He nervously laughed.
Then, Alastor had appeared behind him, smirking. “Never in my afterlife would I have thought I’d see the king of hell worry about his own people.”
This had immediately pissed off Lucifer. God he was annoying. Just hearing his voice caused Lucifer to grit his teeth. The radio demon had noticed this and measured his height. “Or are you afraid you’ll meet angels that are taller than you?”
Before Lucifer could have snapped his neck, Charlie walked between them. “Alastor! Dad! Be nice!” She didn’t exactly shout, but it was louder than normal.
Alastor gave him one last smirk before he walked away, his hooves making clicking noises.
________
Lucifer shook his head, getting rid of the memories from yesterday. The second Alastor had marched away Lucifer had ran upstairs and screamt into his pillow. He didn’t know how or when he had fallen asleep, but he knew it was all Alastor’s fault-
Lucifer groaned. Now he was on his mind again! Would he ever leave his thoughts alone?
“Something bothering you your majesty?” A static voice cackled.
Lucifer curled his hands into fists and slowly turned around, letting the deer demon see how annoyed he was at him. “Yes.” He hissed through his teeth. “Because you wont leave me alone”
Alastor kept his wide grin on his face, but his eyes twitched slightly. Good, he didn’t want Alastor to get too comfortable.
“And you won’t leave his mind.” Another voice chuckled. They both turned around to see the pink spider demon, Angel Dust, sitting with Husk at the bar, leaning his elbow on the counter. Husk also looked at them, a small smirk pulling his lips higher up his face.
Angel winked at them, a rather… seductive wink… but Lucifer didn’t care. He was boiling with rage at the radio demon. “He’s right” Lucifer put his hands on his sides, giving him a grin to be Alastor’s ‘lookalike’.
“You are on my mind 24/7 and it’s driving me insane.” He hissed. At first, he didn’t understand what was wrong about what he said, until he met Alastor’s gaze. He swore he saw a faint blush on the demons face.
He took a daring look at the other two at the bar, but sadly, Charlie was also there now. She had her mouth open, gaping in surprise. Husk stared at them in shock, as if he just saw something he wasn’t meant to see. And Angel, well… He looked shocked as well, his hand over his mouth. But when he opened his lips, Lucifer quickly looked back. “W-Well not like that!” God this was so embarrassing. Even his daughter was there to watch!
“I meant it as in that your annoying- Ah! Whatever! Let’s get into todays exercise!” He took his face in his hands and walked over to the sofa, where Charlie would tell them what to do.
Alastor walked next to him and sat down, but as far away as he could. Angel sat between them, looking at the devil and the deer demon as often as he could. Lucifer met his gaze, but before he could tell him to stop, Angel leaned over and whispered in his ear. “Ya’ know, if you wanna hook up with Mr. Static voice over there, I won’t discriminate” The spider demon smirked as he pointed with his thumbs at Alastor.
“Wha-No!” Lucifer hissed, but only so Angel Dust could hear. “No! He’s like- like-“
“He’s like your type” Angel finished.
“No! I- Never mind.” Lucifer turned around, too irritated too deal with the quirky little, well not really since he was way taller than him, brat.
When the others arrived, Charlie clapped her hands together, making everyone face her.
“So, today we will be baking! And what will we be baking Vaggie?” Charlie leaned over to look at her girlfriend, who rolled her eyes, but with a smile, so she didn’t mean any harm. “We will be making cupcakes.”
Angel stood up, ready to crack a joke. “Great! Can I add some of my drugs?”
S
adly, the only one who even let out just a chuckle was Husk. Lucifer and the others turned to look at him, wondering what in hell could have been so funny with it.
“Ah- Shit, sorry” Husker mumbled, looking away with his claws over his mouth, but quickly made eye contact with Angel Dust, and let out a low chuckle, again.
Seriously, what was with those two?
Charlie cleared her throat, making everyone give her their attention. “We will be baking in groups. Angel is with Husk, Cherri is with Niffty, Alastor is with Lucifer and I’m with Vaggie!” She clapped her hands together one last time, and Lucifer froze. He was going to bake cupcakes with Alastor? The fucking cannibal?
No
Fucking
Way
His stomach fluttered, like it had a thousand butterflies in it. What was going on? What kind of shitty day was this? Was he… actually happy to be on a team with Alastor? No! He was mad, angry at Charlie! He didn’t want to be on the same team as Alastor.
Everyone had gotten up, but Lucifer sat still, staring into the void. He was moments away from teleporting until someone stepped in front of his vision. “Your majesty” Alastor grinned and held out his hand for Lucifer. Something inside of him told him to take it, and he did. Alastor seemed surprised as the king of hell accepted his offer but helped him up anyhow.
In the corner of his eye, he saw his daughter practically beaming, and Vaggie who was giving her pats on her shoulder, trying to calm her down. Great, so now everyone knew?
Today was going to be a long day…
