This is a story with plot (and spice dw). Told primarily from Xiao | Alatus Perspective
Aether abandoned Lumine in full, choosing the darkness of the void over her. Aether, her twin, the only stable thing she's ever know in her cursed, immortal life. Thinking about it makes her feel as though she is dying inside; withering away into nothing but smoke and ash. That pain tore at her, shredding her heart into a thousand irremediable pieces. She tried her best, continuing her journey for far longer than most would consider reasonable, all to no avail. Aether was lost to her, maybe forever.
Distraught and alone in the world, she found herself settling in a quiet meadow northeast of Liyue Harbor. Her depression spiraled out of control, leading her to reckless and dangerous behavior. Xiao saw her pain and desperately wished to ease it. He decided to start visiting her. In the beginning they were spontaneous and rare, yet as time continued its endless march, she slowly began calling to him, and he never failed to answer. This became their routine, her call coming at the first light of each new dawn.
