   Summary

   Stan wakes with a start. He doesn’t fall out of bed, or scream like he would have a year or two ago. His eyes simply fly open, and his breath momentarily catches in his throat.

   He’s used to this dream by now. That Day. No sweat clings to his skin, no bile burns at the back of his throat.

   A look out the window tells him it's still late in the night, or early in the morning, and Kyle snores softly beside him, a reminder of where he is, that he’s safe at home, not in the middle of the forest, miles from home, facing a monster.
