Being that he considered his older brother to be his bestest and closest friend, Philip made sure to cling tightly to Caleb.
He was the one who made him feel safe, the one who comforted him with great care during difficult times, and always eased him into a gentle embrace whenever tears began to roll down his cheeks.
However, Philip still wanted to befriend at least one or some of the other Puritan children who weren't Caleb.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen, so the brunette continued to have Caleb as his only companion.
As he got older, responsibilities started to weigh on Caleb's shoulders, causing him to spend less and less leisure time with his little brother.
Such a switch forced Philip to turn to other things for comfort when his older brother was away or busy.
One of those things was the Bible.
The holy book had a plethora of characters that the youngest could relate to so much so that he sort of viewed them as friends.
Out of everyone, Jesus was his favorite.
Horses were the second thing Philip turned to.
They were some of God's sweetest creatures.
Philip invested time in bonding with them and brought them fresh fruits and vegtables, their favorite snacks, whenever he went to the stables to see them.
Before feeding them, he made sure to thoroughly wash and clean every fruit and vegetable.
