Work Text:

It was late afternoon, a week before Valentine’s day.

Kokomi thought it would be nice to visit her close friend, and popped into Liyue unannounced.

Ganyu noticed Kokomi while she was running errands, and planned to briefly go to the nearby shop to buy something for her friend, Keqing (as a gift for their platonic Valentine’s gift exchange) to see Kokomi speaking with the shopkeeper.

“Sir, have you ever heard of a girl called Ganyu? We’re close friends and I came to visit her since it’s going to be Valentine’s day soon…But I don’t know—Oh! Hello, Ganyu!”

It was a pleasant surprise. For both of them.

For Ganyu, since she saw her friend (and crush).

For Kokomi, since she wouldn’t have to search for Ganyu the whole day.

Days later, It was Valentine’s day morning, the sun was just rising, and the sight was breathtaking.

The two sat on a bench, watching the view happily.

Kokomi rested her head on Ganyu’s shoulder, letting out a pleased sigh.

Ganyu stared longingly at Kokomi. Little did she know, Kokomi stared at the blue-haired adepti the same way whenever Ganyu looked away. Their hearts both felt the same—All they needed to do was tell the other.

Kokomi lifted her head to stare at Ganyu. They both gazed at each other softly, their thoughts filled with adoration and desire. Yet neither of them knew of the others yearning.

“Ganyu?”

A lapse of silence passed. It wasn’t uncomfortable, per say, but it did have a certain nervous excitement.

“Yes, Kokomi?”

Kokomi blushed, and cleared her throat nervously.

“Would you like to be my Valentine?” Kokomi asked.

Ganyu froze, flustered.

“I would love to, Kokomi.”

Kokomi grinned.

The pair walked around, Liyue, their hands intertwined. Kokomi had insisted on buying Ganyu flowers (“It’s tradition! Please, Ganyu..?), to which the other reluctantly agreed.

With the promise that she would be able to buy Kokomi chocolates.

Kokomi then bought Ganyu a necklace and some truly beautiful yet expensive, even with Ganyu’s protests that ‘it was too much money!’.

A look from Kokomi made Ganyu quieten, and Ganyu grudgingly accepted Kokomi’s gifts.

Ganyu thanked Kokomi profusely for each thing she got, which made Ganyu chuckle.

The necklace in particular was made of silver, with a gorgeous jewel that matched Ganyu’s eyes. Ganyu smiled softly at Kokomi.

“It’s beautiful. Thank you so much.”

Kokomi shook her head. “It’s nothing, really.”

They spent an enjoyable day together.

Eating, talking and drinking together—they were both content. Kokomi rarely let go of Ganyu's hand and the younger was constantly blushing at the slightest touch, so it turned out that Ganyu was flushed a soft pink the whole day.

Ganyu even let Kokomi touch her horns, due to Kokomi’s insistence. Kokomi was extremely gentle with them, and Ganyu even enjoyed the feeling of Kokomi gently caressing Ganyu’s horns.

As dusk approached, Ganyu’s eyes drifted towards Kokomi’s lips. “Can I?”

Kokomi interrupted Ganyu by pressing their lips together. They melted into each other and only parted to breathe. The kiss was sloppy, and filled with inexperience from both sides.

Neither cared, as all that mattered in the moment was that—

They were together.
