Today the Demon King of Salvation was acting strange.
It was hard to explain how, given that there were so few ways they communicated. But something about the way he talked when handing over information, the tone of the indirect messages… something was strange.
But, whatever. There wasn’t anything he could do about it.
Yoo Joonghyuk was making lunch for his companions when he saw a new indirect message.
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wishes to know what you’re making.]
One thing he could say for certain was that the Demon King of Salvation had been asking him more questions than usual.
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wants you to explain what you’re making.]
“Why, don’t Constellations not eat normal food?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wishes to hear you explain what you’re making.]
“Why should I?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ suggests you check the date.]
The date? Was there something significant about today?
[The Constellation ‘Demon-like Judge of Fire’ informs the Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ that Valentine’s Day was yesterday, not today.]
Yoo Joonghyuk raised an eyebrow. Really, something like this?
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation vehemently denies that’s what he meant.]
[The Constellation ‘Prisoner of the Golden Headband’ is snickering at the Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’.]
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ informs you that Valentine’s Day being so close to today’s date is a complete coincidence.]
“So what’s so special about February 15th?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ reveals that today would be his birthday.]
“...Do Constellations have birthdays?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ says he does.]
“...I see. Happy birthday, then.”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ questions your sincerity.]
Yoo Joonghyuk raised his knife.
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ tells you to wait.]
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ says you never explained what you’re making.]
“Will you leave me alone if I tell you?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wonders why you would think that.]
Yoo Joonghyuk sighed. “I’m attempting to make barbecue, but a certain someone keeps distracting me.”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ asserts that you would not be distracted if you had just answered his question.]
“Is there anything else?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wants you to explain how you’re making this.]
“No.”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ accuses you of being cold.]
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ explains that this is his birthday request.]
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ believes you wouldn’t deny him that.]
[The Constellation ‘Prisoner of the Golden Headband’ is laughing at the Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation.]
“...Fine.”

Truthfully, there was no reason to spend so much probability on coins, not for something like this. Still, I couldn’t deny it was nice to watch Yoo Joonghyuk cook, and listen to him explain the steps. It brought back memories of when the Yoo Joonghyuk of the 999th round had explained to me how to make dumplings, while he himself was in a dumpling form. Except, this situation wasn’t quite so absurd.

“...Thank you, Fourth Wall.”
As expected, the food that Yoo Joonghyuk made turned out wonderful. I could only see it, and hear his companions’ praise for it, but even if this was only the 0th round, he was still unmatched when it came to cooking. I could almost imagine the taste of it myself…
“Demon King of Salvation.”
Hmm? Ah, Yoo Joonghyuk was brooding by himself again.
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ is curious why you called to him.]
“Do you have a favourite food?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ reveals that he used to like omurice.]
“Used to?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ knows you’re aware that Constellations don’t eat normal food.]
“I see.” Yoo Joonghyuk looked lost in thought for a minute, before asking, “After the scenarios, what will happen to you Constellations?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ wonders why you’re asking this now.]
“Just answer the question.”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ says it will be different for every Constellation.]
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ explains some will look for different worlds to start the scenarios in again, some will go to old worlds that failed scenarios or are still in scenarios, some may stay in this world.]
“And will you come to this world?”
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ says he has been in this world.]
“You’ve watched this world. That’s different from being in this world. Will you come to this world?”
My heart jumped to my throat. So, it seemed that he wanted the one thing I couldn’t do…
[The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ thinks he would like to.]
“Then, after the scenarios, I’ll make you omurice on your next birthday.”
[...The Constellation ‘Demon King of Salvation’ would be very grateful for that.]
